We had the Braised Pork Bowl and Fried Tofu Bowl. Just incredible. The braised pork bowl was a mix of juicy pork belly and tender minced pork. The sauces and condiments in the bowl adds up to a perfect harmony of flavour.

If you're a health-conscious person like my beautiful wife and want to avoid meat, try the fried tofu bowl. I never knew fried tofu tastes that good. No need for fast food anymore.

The best part, it was a great deal with Burrple Beyond, ka-ching! 💷

~ A Curious Tale Of The Origin Of Fish & Chips ~ 🥇

Once upon a time, after pirating and treasure hunting had reached its peak popularity and had become the Get-rich-quick 💵 vocation of every young boy, there really wasn't much treasure left buried in thick jungles or deep underwater. All the pirates were poor, and unmotivated, and worse still, most of them were stuck in the middle of an endless blue, the great vast ocean 🌊.

A 👨‍🍳 chef on board one of these ships had a brilliant idea 💡 , they always hauled in lots of fish, and the crew were already sick of steamed/stewed fish. So he came up with a golden plate of treasure - the Fish and Chips. Meant to look like gold treasure, the dish was a hit among the seven seas and is now known as a good old classic.

Were these pirates, no sailors, mad? Probably. But this cool crib serves the good old classic with modern sauces like the masala, and its golden. "Mad genius!", I'd say. One of the servers have very smooth hair 🧛‍♂️ too, jus' sayin.

This modern take on a Korean classic is clean enough for the wifey, and yummy enough for the hubs. Win-win! (It helps that there is a range of sauces and all are free-flow 🤗)

Looking for a place away from Orchard Rd's Friday evening crowd, we turned to the "top secret" Justice League HQ, located across from Taka's taxi stand. The laksa pasta was fragrant with juicy and crunchy prawns, while the Superman chicken burger had a succulent patty and satisfying nacho-salsa combo. The #burpplebeyond discount also came to our wallets' rescue 😉

These eclairs are not only well-composed in terms of presentation, but also flavours. We had the lychee rose and passionfruit mango (hubs likes sweet, wifey is more into sour), the creams were just nice in terms of sweetness and tanginess respectively. Earl grey lattes (hot and cold) were pleasant accompaniments though a bit sweet.

The handiwork does not come cheap -- $8 on average per eclair though #burpplebeyond helped defray the cost. Nonetheless was so taken with flavours that dabaoed three more after without a discount 😊 (Vanilla, matcha and banana -- all good!) #burpple

We went there because wifey wanted to detox with a vegetarian meal. Hubs enjoyed it more than he thought he would 👍🏻Pictured is the burrito bowl, we also had the herbal broth with ginger brown rice. Both were filling and fresh. Peaceful and casual atmosphere was a respite from bustle of Orchard Road ✌🏻 Another #burpplebeyond find. #burpple

Both were extremely generous portions. The menu description said "a lot of clams" and it was really A LOT. Well worth the #burpplebeyond deal. #burpple
