Will eat again

Got the charcoal steak with their 1-1 and it's so delicious I wiped both plates so clean it's like it's new. Got the wine at 1-1 too. Total bill was $58 for 2 so I'd say it's very worth it! Definitely be back.

Btw I should clarify for them, there's no special menu for burpple despite the other review. The menu in burpple is just not updated, check out their website for their new menu prices. More expensive yes, but worth it.

The best part of the meal is that the steak is 300g. 1-1 at $30 is an absolute steal. Truffle fries at $6 is super cheap as well. Service was great, they are always topping up water.

Restaurant decor was nice, but on a Saturday night it was crowded hence quite noisy. Ribeye steak was cook okay as medium rare, but seasoning is soso. Will come back for cheap steak and nice decor, but don't expect romantic decor due to the noise.

I rarely depart from having meals at restaurants offering beyond 1-1 but scaled was one of the exception and it was well worth the risk (of spending more money). Their roasted prawn as starters was delicious! The konbu is omg. The staff said we can ask for more lemon if needed, I only wanted to ask for more konbu.

We ordered chili crab risotto and seabass tagliatalie as mains. The risotto is delicious too! All the dishes were what the staff recommended but amongst all the seabass would be rated last. Albeit fresh, it was nothing amazing compared to the first 2 dishes I had. Not that it wasn't nice, just that the prawn and chili crab were more to our liking. Their music were abit loud, considering its indoors and people were trying to talk louder to drown out each other. I wouldn't call it a fine dining place like the staff introduced, but if they were to ask if id go back I would say hell yes (when I have the money again)!

Seriously, in my humble opinion this is the best scones in Singapore. No scones in hotel high tea set can compare to Fosters. Yes it is a steakhouse but seriously, the scones are done so right I keep coming back for more. Pic is afternoon tea set at $11.50 with one pot of tea, but i switched out their sandwich and cake for more scones!

Ordered their pasta, lemongrass pork, pork belly and beef cubes. Pasta was soso in my opinion, but the meats are all so delicious! Right amount of fats and lean meat. I went to heaven when I ate the beef cubes and was banished back to earth when it finished.

$24nett for 2 chilli prawn pasta + 2 tea under burpple 1-1, I'd say pretty decent environment and food. Great for an affordable cafe lunch.

Wanted to eat burger+ but the queue was insane so I went for wanna cuppa instead. Not sure why the other reviews are so critical of this shop. I ate here before they were on burpple and they were okay (not bad, not good, but okay). Came back again for mentaiko and Tom yum pasta, and it was still ok! Service was prompt and good despite having only 1 server. Tom yum pasta taste exactly (seriously suspecting) like nissin Maggie (but it's comfort food taste! Not that it's bad) but with spaghetti and mentaiko pasta was a tad too watery. But hey $10 nett per pasta after burpple 1-1 I don't think I wanna be overly critical. Drinks are even nett prices, they got my heart.

I didn't know teppan in Singapore can be so affordable. Opted for ala carte and used burpple to 1-1 the beef item. Service is attentive yet not disturbing our dinner. I didn't get the counter seats despite my reservation but can't complain there, the food and service more than made up for it. Full house on a Tuesday night so better make that reservation!

Cooking: The cheapest deal I know for Peking duck other than Asia grand. Duck is well worth at this price, good enough for me to overlook that the 饼皮 was slightly too thick.

Service: All the staff were prompt with service, and refilling of our tea. However the manager was meh. We didn't opt for 2nd cooking method for our other half duck portion cause the manager who attended to us said there's only 2 methods to choose from - fry with rice or noodles which we weren't a fan of. But I overheard the other waitress offering the other table to fry salt pepper style or spring onion style as well. No idea why but the manager didn't seem friendly with our table. Probably not as high spender as the rest hahaha.

Overall, will go back!

THIS. Is gonna be where I'm ordering my crabs next time. $30 for 3 absolutely fresh crabs, free delivery even on national day PH eve. Chili crab isn't like our usual taste, but totally delicious. With mantou, I can die happy and fat now.

Chili lobster t-something pasta is delicious! Small portion though, I could have eaten pasta followed by the ribeye all by myself if I had the money to afford it. Crowded on a Friday night, make reservation! Bespoke cocktails were popular with other rich customers too.

Food: So. Much. Better. Than. Marriott's. Afternoon tea set (have to take a shot at Marriott because they simply ridic). Everything is nice, my fav with the pulu hitam for sweet and ngoh hiang for savoury. Not a fan of the chendol pudding and the sweet green cream at the bottom left, no idea what's that but too sweet. Their executive chef came around tables to ask for feedback, and we were informed their menu changes every 3 months, and this peranakan theme is the first day today on 1 aug (we were actually here to try the previous menu but oh well). Next one would be festive theme one in Nov, and I'll be back to try. Sad that I missed out the last one though, lychee rose macaron plz come back.

Service: Host and service staff was as attentive as they can since they seem short handed with an almost full lounge. Very polite as well. One thing, first seating for afternoon tea is 1pm, but we ordered at 1.10pm and only received the food at 1.45pm? Its the same for most of the tables which was quite slow service from the kitchen considering we were supposed to clear the table for second seating by 3.30pm. We ordered ala carte after so we sat on longer and it didn't affect my experience, just a point that I noted.

Ambience: I love hotels with their far apart tables and high ceiling, so the noise level is never too loud, nice to chill and chat (esp impt when the waiting time is long HAHA)
