Ann Chin Popiah's Sin Ming outlet is now consolidated at #01-20 of block behind Sin Ming Plaza, 6 Sin Ming Road. It is for takeaway only. Took two Popiah and 4 Kueh Pie Tee for $7.50 only. Really good and cheap.
This place replaces Killiney Cafe but it still serves kaya sets, local food such as laksa. They sell nyonya kueh too, like a bangawan solo.
Burpple Cafe has started serving Chinese tea in pot. Nice alternative to coffee especially when having long discussions with friends and partners. Burpple will gradually increase the choice of tea over the next few months.
This 24-hour shop is worth keeping in your List, in case you need a place for supper. They serve good noodle soup dishes including bak chor mee.
Johor style Teochew fish ball kway teow soup and bak chor mee.
This prawn noodle soup is really quite different.
Other than prawn, it has oxtail, roast pork... In rich prawn broth. Worth a try.
Back to the outlet near my house for my favourite drink. Always a pleasure having the second one free on Burpple Beyond.
This is the only bullfrog pot that is not spicy. It tastes equally good. The rest are spicy from one to four "chilly". I enjoyed the appetizer dish 汉阳招牌鸡, spicy mala chicken that's similar to 口水鸡 but much more sophisticated. It can also serve as the sauce to deep in if you want the bullfrog to have a little more spice.
This beef is quite good. But the golden pomfret was not good. Amazingly, we discovered that each movie ticket from Golden Village could be redeemed for $6.
The large pau is nice. This is a famous chain stall.
Back for my favourite grilled fish.
