𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧 (promo $29.90; up $35.90) - Among the better versions we’ve had; perfectly timed fresh steamed fish with succulent meat. The base sauce was fragrant from the lemongrass with an addictive tang and mild spice undertones. Enjoyed it so much that we slurped the sauce up 😅
𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐩𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟐-𝟑𝐩𝐚𝐱 ($49.90) - Hearty pot of rich Tom yum broth that had spicy, savory, sweet, and sour notes, along with creaminess from the 2 eggs. We enjoyed the generous assortment of fresh seafood that included mussels, clams, squid, and particularly the prawns. The mama noodles soaked up the broth for truly slurpworthy bites.
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐥𝐞 ($9.90 set or $1.80 alacarte) - Enjoyable set with 4 different soup bases to try from, suitable for those who enjoy a variety. Tom yum was a milder hot and sour creamy rendition; Kuey Chap was on the sweeter side; Ayutthaya was dark and spicy with its mix of herbs; Pathumthani was addictive with its sour and spicy notes. Each bowl includes choice of meat - beef or chicken, and noodles - springy Maggie mee or classic chewy rice noodles.
𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 ($12.90) - Flavourful egg and minced chicken served on top of rice. Quite standard and would have appreciated fluffier egg and some balance of greens or spice. Did enjoy the side of coconut sauce for added milky and sweet flavour.

First experience of this dish and loved it! The bright red comes from a mix of spices and tomato creating a balanced spicy, tangy, and sweet broth packed with flavour. Opted for brown rice beehoon and it soaked up the broth while remaining QQ, creating delicious slurpworthy bites. Served with tender pork ribs and pork ball, and crunchy long bean.

As an oyster lover, loved these generously sized and juicy pieces that had distinct but not overpowering brininess. Paired well with their tangy Thai sauce. Catch this $2/pc special only on Wed!

The 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 (4 ⭐️; $14.90) was also good - the right balance of coconut milk and aromatics. The 𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐮𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧𝐬 (4 ⭐️ $18.90) was a clear and aromatic soup. It was fiery (the spice builds!) but we couldn’t stop ourselves from slurping it all up 🥵. Only feedback is that it was pretty pricey for the amount of ingredients.

Top pick would be the 𝐏𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧𝐬 (4.5 ⭐️; $14.90). It appeared simple but offered a gutsy hit of sweet/savoury notes - super addictive! If nitpicking, the deep fried big prawns were dried out.
Been awhile since having this but still as satisfying and affordable as we remember! At only $6, the ingredients (prawn) are a tad dismal but acceptable. Preferred the pad Thai over the pad see ew

Good option for Thai food! The tom yum mama (3.5 ⭐️; $10) was hearty instant noodles with generous addition of seafood - 2 prawns, mussels, squid etc. in a sour-spicy broth.
Classic tom yum soup ($10) perfect for that day’s rainy weather. Personally found it sweet but still tasty.

Mookata (~$15/pax)
⭐️ 3.5/5 ⭐️
🍴Newly opened #mookata in a humble hawker centre. The Jumbo meat platter ($39.90) for 4-5pax included a wide array of pork and chicken meat (1kg worth!), cheese tofu, cheese ball, meatball, crab stick, hotdog, luncheon meat, and vegetables. Enjoyed that the meats were marinated in their signature sauce/ black pepper but not overpoweringly so. This meant that they could still be enjoyed when dipped into their array of yummy sauces. The chilli had a sweet-spicy kick, while the Thai seafood sauce was tangy and garlicky, with mild spiciness. The Assam would suit non spicy lovers with its sweet-sour profile. Cheese lovers would also appreciate their generously filled cheese tofu and cheese ball, and alacarte option of cheese dip ($2).
Besides the usual meat & vegetable platters, the highlight was premium foie gras (4 ⭐️; $5.90 each) which we would thoroughly recommend! Each piece was generously thick and could be grilled to develop a nice outside char while retaining a juicy and creamy interior. Wasn’t too gamey or rich as well. Their Wagyu Striploin (3 ⭐️; $9.90/ 100g) was slightly tough but a reasonably priced option for those craving beef. They also offer richly marbled wagyu ribeye ($24.90/250g).
For carb lovers, they offer rice, tang hoon, and instant noodles. Pro tip: add the tom yum seasoning that came with the instant noodles to amp up the flavour of the soup 😉.
