JUST DESSERTSSS
This may sound like an odd combination, but it works! The yam paste wasn't too sweet and retains a light yam fragrance that complements the savoury floss. Mochi adds a nice chewy texture as well. I haven't been a big fan of mochi buns, but this has been the most acceptable for me so far. That said, would have liked a variation of yam and pork floss without the mochi 😬
The texture of this was great when they make it fresh! Crisp and light, not oily at all. I like to believe it isn't that sinful a snack. I usually go for the savoury flavours as they taste more unique. Decided to try this today as an after-meal dessert. It is a good red bean pastry, but there wasn't much brown sugar fragrance I could taste. Definitely prefer the savoury flavours.
It's been awhile since I'd been impressed by an ice cream place, but I've found a new gem today that I would re-visit possibly even after I'm done with my burpple vouchers!
Had the Pu-Er (premium flavour +$1) and Apple Speculoos Ice-Cream, which came up to $5.50 for 2 scoops with burpple (worth!)
Pu-Er tasted very fragrant, with a distinct tea taste and slight bitterness to balance the sweetness. It seems 2nd Serving specialises in tea flavours as there were a few other tea flavours available (like Tie Guan Yin and Earl Grey) which I can't wait to return to try. Would highly recommend to tea lovers!
Apple Speculoos was great as well, with tart apple bits balancing out the creaminess of the ice cream and sweetness of the speculoos bits.
Tldr: gr8 stuff, please support. 😋
