๐ก Purple Sweet Potato Snowball Mochi
๐Xiao Gege Snowball Mochi (@xiaogegemochi)
๐ Chinatown
๐ฐ $3.40
Ive seen taro mochi but I've never seen sweet potato being used as a mochi filling before :O this was pretty good, the mochi skin was soft, stretchy and chewy, and the amount of sweet potato cream was hella generous. It had that earthy taste that sweet potato has, which was interesting. Overall I still prefer other flavours for mochi but this was cool to try!

๐Custard Lava Sesame Ball

Pretty standard salted egg sesame ball, the salted egg is flowy and the skin is chewy and oily. Canโt go wrong with a salted egg sesame ball.

๐ก Anko & Butter Mochi Sandwich
๐Don Don Donki (@donkisg)
๐ Multiple Outlets
๐ฐ $3.50
Ive reviewed the other 2 mochi sandwich flavours from Donki and this was the most ordinary one. I expected there to be some butter inside but nope, its just red bean through and through.
Generally not bad but not that unique, the mochi is stretchy and chewy but I think its not as good as a regular red bean mochi you could get anywhere. Also I find it a little too sweet

๐ก Kinako & Molasses Mochi Sandwich
๐Don Don Donki (@donkisg)
๐ Multiple Outlets
๐ฐ $3.50
Tried the rare cheese mochi sandwich from donki a while back, this is their kinako & molasses version. Basically tastes similar with a stretchy and chewy texture and soybean cream, theres also some molasses for added sweetness.
I still prefer the rare cheese mochi sandwich but this is cheaper so can try it!

๐ก Strawberry Rare Cheese Mochi Sandwich
๐Don Don Donki (@donkisg)
๐ Multiple Outlets
๐ฐ $4.90 I think I dont remember oops
New item at Donki! They now have mochi sandwiches in their dessert section, in quite a few different flavours. The one I got was the strawberry jam with rare cheese filling. What does rare cheese mean? No idea, but its kinda like cream cheese.
The mochi is soft and chewy and the strawberry jam is sweet. I love the combo of the cheese, jam and mochi, its like a strawberry cheesecake flavoured mochi.
A little on the pricey end but super cool product! Would try again.

๐ก Matcha Lava Mochi
๐Baan Kanom Thai (@baankanomthai.sg)
๐ Thai Supermarket in Golden Mile Complex
๐ฐ $10
More lava mochi from Baan Kanom Thai! Got the matcha lava mochi this time (check out my previous posts for the salted egg lava mochi).
The matcha taste in this is more on the sweet, floral side as compared to a rich and gao matcha flavour. I quite like the floral-ness of this, goes well with the stretchy mochi. Like the salted egg one, the mochi is really oily, but it still has the stretchiness and satisfying chewiness of mochi.
I think I prefer the salted egg one a little more but this is also a great snack for floral matcha lovers!

This mochi has a huge block of cream cheese inside with oreo crumbs on the surface. Honestly cannot taste the oreo at all, it's completely overwhelmed by the mochi and cream cheese. The cream cheese is really like a whole block inside the mochi ๐ goes well with the mochi but like the others, I find this too expensive and you could easily DIY it yourself if you have mochi making abilities. However cream cheese and mochi is a pretty nice combo so I'd eat it again (just not for $4.90).

The cake comes with a layer of salted egg cream at the bottom, and more layers of mochi, cream and cake, and is topped with a mixture of floss, nuts, dried fruits, biscuits and granola. If I'm being very honest, the topping lowkey looks like those colourful fish food flakes ๐ rest assured that it tastes really good tho!
The salted egg cream is thick and kinda has a doughy taste? It's not bad but the salted egg taste isnt that strong. The mochi is really sticky and stretchy, so good! Goes really well with all the cream. The cake is just one small piece inside, it kinda looks like a small pancake. However it also goes well with everything. The toppings my favourite, partially cuz that's where the floss is, plus it adds so much nice crunch!
Really delicious, a little pricey but one of those unique snacks that are hard to find in Singapore. They also have a yam and sweet potato version, and a fruit version that is $8.50. I think I may try the yam one soon hmm ๐ค

Was quite surprised when I cut this open, I was expecting some kind of mango cream filling but instead, the mochi is covering a literal slice of mango ๐ฑ soooo good!! Really really refreshing, the mango is sweet and pulpy and the mochi is very sticky and chewy. A really amazing combo, but soso expensive :/ probably cheaper to just buy your own mango and make your own mochi, but if you're not in the mood to do all that, this is so delicious and worth a try if you have money to spare!

This mochi is filled with a block of pure taro! Tastes like very very natural yam paste with no preservatives or other added stuff. Really great for yam fanatics! The mochi is suuuuper sticky and stretchy, and is coated with shredded coconut. It goes really well with the yam.
However I do find this too ex, it's $4.90 and isn't as big as the display one. Wouldn't get it again cuz of the price but worth a try!

The muah chee itself is really soft and stretchy, as all good muah chee should be. There's quite a generous amount of peanut powder on it, but sadly it's all just powder and no actual peanut chunks or sugar, hence it's a bit bland imo. The orh nee filling was a bit fragrant but didn't have a very strong yam taste. It's very slightly milky? Not sure how to describe it but it was nice, just wish the taste was stronger!
A little underwhelming cuz of all the glowing reviews but still quite worth the price! Would love it if the muah chee was coated in actual crushed peanuts and sugar instead of peanut powder, I think that would really elevate it!
