Stumbled on this air con cafe selling Nasi Lemak, among other things like Kueh, chendol, and hot drinks. One of the menu items which stood out to me was the Mee Siam, especially because I was only feeling slightly peckish and not looking for something big and filling like their Nasi Lemak sets. That being said, their Nasi Lemak looked way too good to miss :(
Back to the Mee Siam, it was mind blowing delicious for something so simple. The sambal have a wonderful spicy kick, and the slight sourish taste from the mee siam have a complete flavour to the dish. All you really need is the egg and papadum to complete the meal and you’re satisfied😋 Truth be told, I wasn’t satisfied because I wanted more😅

Kueh Dadar RM1.20
Seri Muka RM1
Pulut Pangang RM1.50
A variety of kueh that were all so well done! My favorite was the seri muka or putri salat as some of us know it. The pandan custard layer which was thick and creamy, complemented the steamed glutinous rice layer complemented very well. Both the kueh dadar and pulut panggang were both aromatic and delicious as well.

Hands down one of the best Yee mian I’ve tasted. Granted that the price already makes this more than satisfactory, the soup was so full of flavour and they were pretty generous with the ingredients as well — from minced meat to fish cake. I really love my yee mian and all you gotta do is put it in a claypot, make it this affordable, and you know I’m gonna be coming back for this.

Seemingly a crowd favorite here, and that’s unsurprising when you have a stall set at the corner, with the lady just profusely stirring things up in her wok. With that, you get a plate of well executed char kway teow that has the right amount of wok hei aroma and flavour, generous amounts of crunchy bean sprouts, and lap cheong. Requested for more chilli for that added spicy kick and it was so worth it!

Simple but so good! Fragrant and flavourful garlic fried rice that was so satisfying. Plus, it’s so affordable by restaurant standards!

Interestingly executed sushi with lobster salad on the top of your typical sushi roll covered with seaweed. The seaweed flakes surrounding the sushi was a bit overwhelming, but the lobster salad was a great creamy mouthful for it.

Grilled Teriyaki Squid. Granted it was huge, it was not served fresh and hot but slightly on the cold side already. Also wished that there could have been greater char and flavour from the grill, but the flavour only came through on the end of the teriyaki sauce.

This whole set comprising of ramen, maki roll, and pickles was all for less than 10 SGD. While the pricing makes this set worth it, this set was overall just decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but the ramen had all the basic elements — karage, fishcake, egg, in a light shoyu broth. They had other set options such as curry tonkotsu, which I’d definitely give a try as well when I return.
