As good as the orh nee ones. Which is high enough praise
They are good.
Yam paste was decent enough, the Gingko was perfectly chewy and the pastry was buttery and crumbly, but not overly so.
Good execution, but they're not worth specially travelling for because let's be honest how mind-blowing can these things get. Nor is it worth the hassle scrambling for on weekends
If you're nearby on a weekday, it's worth dropping by
Quite big and very well filled w egg custard which wasn't too sweet. But the pastry is too thin to taste
Crust was way too thick, filling and nuts weren't aromatic
Black sesame cream which was absolutely intense with matcha crumbs. Explosive mouthful, this was rlly good
This was rlly good. It's hard to say exactly which layer was what but all I know is that the genmaicha flavour explodes in your mouth, it's one harmonious whole. It is quite sweet but it works, the sweetness is suitable
Crispy, flaky tart, good orh nee filling. It's quite abit bigger than you expect btw, that's why it's 5.5nett
Overall good execution, but not special enough to try
PSA NO MORE ICE CREAM! The owner said it wasn't particularly profitable unfortunately
Serviceable pecan pie, not too sweet, crusty
The pastry was so flaky, airy, and crispy. It's so damn perfect, except...
It's cold. That's really unacceptable. If they're not freshly baked, please skip them. Cos they're left out in the open so it really does get cold
PSA they're only avail during weekends
Scrumptious. Tart base holds its shape well and doesn't crumble too much, yet it was of a suitable hardness.
What stunned was the orh nee layer. Instead of an orh nee tart it's more just a good cream layer with a bit of orh nee taste, you can't expect orh nee taste to be too strong but it doesn't have to be, to be mindblowingly good. There's a nice coconut milk taste which was clean, plus a mild floral aroma from elderflowers. Its smooth and quite light for orh nee
Must try
