Chasing Fins 🐟
Served with beurre blanc sauce made from razor clams and sake lees.
The cod was rich and buttery 🤤 with the creamy sauce and wine adding complexity to this dish.
\\ Part of Twelve Flavours x Makan@JEN $88 Dinner Course Menu (À la carte $35)
Grilled teriyaki salmon, quinoa, Japanese rice, black rice, spinach, corn, mushroom, onsen egg, blistered tomato, zucchini pickle, edamame, sautéed carrots
I was surprised at the generous portion of quinoa and rice with a variety of colourful ingredients. The slab of salmon was done perfectly with crispy skin and flesh without being too dry lightly drizzled with teriyaki sauce and sprinkles of sesame seed 》$18.50
Locally sourced red snapper pan-fried with a crispy skin that has been nicely seared with milky flavours from the beurre blanc, accompanied alongside mashed potato and preserved lemon & tomato concasse (U.P. $25)
Thanks to Burrple Beyond, we get to enjoy 3-Course Set for 2 Pax at just $78++ ✌️
Pan-seared salmon, bouillabaisse foam, glazed vegetables, mash potatoes
The salmon is cooked just right, not overcooked and dry. The flavours go well together and the bouillabaisse foam combined with miso adds more flavours to the dish. The mash potato was creamy too 》$21
The Atlantic cod is pan-seared till flaky, tender yet delectably moist and goes well with the flavourful tomato dashi. The charred fennel has a crunchy texture with a taste that I find difficult to accept.
This was the main dish from their 3 Course Executive Lunch Set which comprises a raw bar plated buffet appetizer selection, choice of main course and dessert 》$55
Onion rings & parmesan asparagus 》$18.50
I like how this place would ask how I would like my salmon steak to be done where most places wouldn't ask and it ends up well done with dryness. I requested to have mine cooked to medium rare and it came out perfect - juicy, succulent and melts in your mouth. Served with fresh lemon and dill herb cream sauce.
The salmon is relatively cooked outside but still juicy and moist inside. It has a perfectly rendered crispy skin with a thin layer of flaky meat underneath, followed by a wide expanse of tender juicy flesh and a central core with a little translucency that looks like sashimi.
Each grill item comes with 2 complements which you can get to choose from country baked beans, onion rings, buttered corn kernel, cream broccoli, baked olive rice, baked potato, fries, mac & cheese, mashed potato, apple & nut salad cream spinach, cinnamon pumpkin sautéed Brussels cauliflower cheese, coleslaw salad, spinach & sesame salad, chopped green salad, crunchy potato salad, parmesan asparagus or garlic butter eggplant.
Shellfish Fregola
with roasted baby potatoes, mixed sweet peppers compote and balsamic glaze.
The slab of salmon was seared to perfection, keeping it tender and moist with a crackling crispy skin. Simple, healthy and oh, so good!
Thanks to Burpple Beyond, we get to enjoy 2 Main Dish for the price of 1 ✌(U.P $24)
Served with baked potato & Hollandaise sauce 》$21
Fresh and cooked white fish with salted egg, greens, sesame and dried corn (my guess) that resembles popcorn. This dish is refreshing with hints of sourness from the vinegary sauce used. I also liked those little brown seeds that look and taste like dried corn. It adds a crunchy texture to the dish.
\\ Part of Beyond 3 Course Tasting Menu
This was a replacement for the warmed baby squid which we wanted to order but it was unavailable on the day we visited.
Pan seared, beer malt risotto, dill, daikon 》$33
The seabass was pan seared with a crispy texture on the skin while the risotto is slightly different with the use of beer malt. It has a dry and husky texture which feels like some healthy grains. The sauce was creamy and slightly cheesy. Quite a nice dish but I got tired of chewing risotto after a while.
Generous slab of salmon that was crispy on the outside while soft, tender and flakey on the inside. Served with sautéed vegetable, avocado salsa and saffron beurre blanc.
\\ Served in their 4 course festive set as a alternative entrée aside from turkey.

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
