#omakase starto at this 9 seater only restaurant: truffle sprayed onsen egg with salmon roe - harmony at its best here with the salty burst of roe to contrast the onsen in texture and taste and the mild truffle holds the taste altogether. with its minimalism clean interior and white washed walls, @ryosushisg's "modern sushi" is beckoning.

freshly grated wasabi is always a good sign and sashimi this fatty is a sin. the omakase spread was definitely sumptuous with insanely fresh fatty cuts of fish. but i cant agree with some of their cooked stuff though. nevertheless, if you wanna splurge $80 for some incredible fish months ahead, then this is one place to think of!

tea break because food like these. is like atasfied kopitiam tea break but you don't mind the extra bucks at all. pulut tekan ($4), a peranakan glutinous rice cake here is paired with their home made artisan kaya here - it was light, very soothing, and that mellowed sweetness that you forget you are downing glutinous rice shot one after another. sugee cake ($4.80) is another their signature - coarser almonds here lends a hearty bite to this rich cake with a lemon drizzle that complements it so well. best to down one bite with a sip of your favourite heartland kopi each time!

from the folks who brought you symmetry, xyt's rendition of hokkien mee is heavily wok charred and #modsin with smoked pancetta. whopping $16 a plate but portion is good enough for 2 to share. plus you have a bar. sold!

expensive eating in town? Not true! round a gang of 8 like us and have a thai-rrific time at the popular ah loy now over at tan quee lan. 6 dishes including an exciting sour, spicy, garlicky $17 thai styled steamed fish dish all for $10 bucks. decent thai eats but still, 10 bucks is like 也 "thai" 便宜了啦!!! just @burpple doing what burpple does best, curating guides for you and me. that day #burpplegotjio alert and i got these 2 darlings at 10 bucks each. totally caught by surprised the freshness of the seafood on my chirashi bowl! for that quality, even the regular price at $12.80 is very reasonable. need to go there soon again!

weather calls for something hot and comforting. and i find crawford lane really fast becoming my favourite area. beef noodle soup (regular, $7.90) @ super ngon is as real it gets because the flavors here are robust, very authentic with that vietnamese punch that i can't really lay my finger on (afternote: @burpple reviews say is because of the lime leaves! now i know!). order the rice roll, dip into the muted salty soury water and is like HCM all over again.

you know what ought to be breakfast everyday? this! the kalua pulled pork and cabbage stew was so slowly roasted i think they were one stop before disintegration. a symbiotic umami fusion must had happened then, bonded by the gochuchang sauce and formed an alter ego that was bewitching and addictive. you then want to handle this wet sultry entity with the fluffiest turkish pita bread specially toasted crisped to vessel it before partaking. only to realise this was going to be the next best sinful thing to happen in your life. @alteregosg, you had me to indulge dirty. i embraced my dark side now, thank you.

that utter disappointment with myself when i was not picked by @elias.soh in the 50 for $5000 lucky draw contest on @lush995fm. i was so committed and prepared for this contest but alas, luck escaped me.

so, happy comfort food to sooth my heartache and rejected soul. can only pay $9 ma because not $5000 richer you know. haha

condiments section offers free flow diced scallions and cut chilis, but whack the free flow cut chilis i beg you. i don't what they do with it but is just so damnn good with the beef sukiyaki rice.

so i jooed, like finally. crowd favourite, honey butter chicken ($18) was indeed interesting but stopped at wowing me over. glazed toppokki was like tibits crisp outside, but ever the chewy still on the inside. smells real good too. really good beer snack but that's about it too. my view

i always have high regards to japanese garlic fried rice and almost a yardstick to measure if i like the japanese restaurant. sadly, i was not impressed at tenryu, located inside diary farm condo. but one can definitely play safe and go for the maki, surprisingly good.

a plate so big it almost cannot fit the frame. ha. this is communal dining at its finest where all parties makan from the same big plate. my $16 platter could easily feed a family of 3. totally sweated buckets with the sambal but gawd is it so shiok. proteins could have been more tender but everything else was just sedap. incidentally, I was really given a corner before the food came, so relak one corner i did.
