Pretty is as pretty does, doesn't taste all that great. But extra points for the ingenious idea and perfect layering!

Had a fun time trying all the flavours! Apparently this is a famous stall here and we happened to pass by when it just opened, so we managed to grab the best picks!

Good with chilli and a dash of lime juice!

Here's carrot cake which they queued up for and passed it to us for supper.

Boiled chicken in red wine. Super delicious! Only open from 8-11am!

Warm apple filo pillow (14rm). The apple pillows came piping hot and yet soft with icing sugar on top. Love it!

The croque monsieur aka grilled ham and cheese on sourdough. Looks real appetizing doesn't it?

Chicken panini (28rm). Very crisp sandwich. Could have used more chicken breast.

Enjoying a cup of luo han guo (1.70rm) from a road side stall while getting a wash and blow (24rm). It's pampering today. We had a 2hr massage just before this.

Our scrumptious breakfast spread. It just kept coming: char kway teow, roti prata, donuts, kuehs, assorted fruits, juice and coffee. One of the best hotel breakfasts ever! And should you be in Penang, you should try staying at the Mango Tree Place! A hotel in a terrace shophouse, you can't get more local than this.

Might not look very appetizing here but let me assure you that this bowl of noodles was very delicious. Be prepared to start sniffing. If you can't take the heat, the original bowl is just as good. Soup is thick and sweet.

Wu Xiang at a sliced fish soup stall which many locals frequent. We would have missed out this fabulous location if my friend had not insisted we go there.
