Bread pudding One of the best bread pudding I’ve had ever!

Cheesecake Lovely cheesecake paired with strawberries and a zesty drizzle.

Iced Coffee Milk Served in a tall glass but only filled about three-quarters, quite visually underwhelming. Likely made with G7 Instant Coffee, which they also retail. A fuller pour might dilute the taste, but the current presentation could be improved with a better glass to fit the volume of the coffee or just fill it to the brim.

Papaya Milkshake Thick, creamy, and full of papaya flavour.

Pho Tai Vien ($10) Slurpy flat noodles with loads of sliced beef, beef balls, herbs, and bean sprouts in a bowl of savoury soup. Quite a huge bowl. It was okay tbh. Nothing amazing, but damn filling. Slices were big and chewy but lacked seasoning, so dipping into the provided sauce helped. Beef balls were small, easy to eat, and absorbed the soup essence well. Bean sprouts were generously given, almost a 1:1 ratio with noodles.

Mala Chicken 辣子鸡 A signature and popular Sichuan dish that features cubes of chicken coated with spices and fried until golden brown and crispy along with tons of dried chilli and Sichuan peppercorns. It is spicy yet addictive. Be warned of the electrifyingly spicy and numbing sensation. I personally couldn't take the original level of spice and requested a less spicy 少辣 order which was still numbing and spicy on an acceptable level. 📍 Chuan Wei Yuan 川味園 | #01-1076

Pickled Mustard Fish 酸菜鱼 Sour and spicy broth with pickled mustard greens (酸菜) and fish slices. The yellow-green broth is made with various kinds of pickled veggies such as pickled mustard greens, pickled chilli peppers and pickled ginger. The fish slices are super tender with a velvety silky texture and zesty taste. The portion is good for sharing and it comes with glass noodles in there. This is an appetising dish and really comforting to have on a chilly day. 📍 Chuan Wei Yuan 川味園 | #01-1076

Dry Pot Cauliflower 干锅菜花 A classic dish from Sichuan cuisine that features crispy cauliflower florets stir-fried with bacon, garlic, scallion and chilli peppers in an aromatic savoury sauce. Squid ink fried rice! Finally visited Coexist Coffee Co. at Hillview! Took so long for us to visit this cafe outlet till they have changed out from the iconic red white layout! Now it is a grey industrial theme vibes already! Here is what we ordered: -Squid Ink Fried Rice ($26++): Super unique dish! Served in a claypot! There is tiger prawns, baby squid, and topped with lots of ikura! Very unique taste! -Chilli Crab Shakshuka ($18++): Comes with a huge tempura soft shell crab, chilli crab tomato dip, fried mantou and a sous vide egg! -Satay Quesadilla ($18++): Pulled pork satay with mozzarella and comes with peanut sauce! My favourite is per the above order ranking! We ordered 3 dishes as we were famished after 3+ hours of discussing reno stuff prior! Say hi to the new neighbouring neighbourhood!

𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐀 𝟏𝟕𝟎 ($𝟏𝟎) Taste and texture-wise, its was too sugary on its own. But the luscious cinnamon cream balanced out its sweetness and made this dessert really enjoyable!

Brunch Forget about the nice views comments you see about this cafe. What views do you expect to see from an 8th floor rooftop surrounded by tall condominiums and a rainforest? Come for the food and coffee instead! We came on a Sunday. Reservations strongly recommended as the tables are limited. We ordered Chilli Crab Shakshuka, Squid Ink Fried Rice and the Coexist Breakfast. The Shakshuka did not disappoint. Large chunks of crab meat were mixed within the chilli sauce (more like tomato sauce with just a hint of spice). Six small slices of man tou was provided to soak up the gravy. Do remember to mix the egg into the gravy to give the whole dish extra silkiness. Next up, the Squid Ink Fried Rice was equally good. It came with chunks of deep fried prawn meat and whole baby squids, topped with Ikura and chilli. Rice was not greasy and tasted umami from the squid ink. The Ikura added bursts of flavour and there was also a certain level of heat coming from the squid and prawns. Probably the marinate they used or the mentaiko sauce spread on the plate. But yes it did accentuate the dish. Yums! The Coexist breakfast was normal. Nothing to sing about. I have to give special mention to their White coffee and Aero-Black cold coffee. So hot are very robust in coffee taste, the way coffee lovers like their brew. Just choose hot or cold. Certainly coming back to try the other items on their menu, even if this cafe is a little pricier than others and it is very ulu in terms of location. If you don’t drive, then Grab will be the next best alternative.

One for one pasta Tried the mentaiko salmon carbonara with ebiko Love this pasta! The mentaiko and carbonara combination always work It feels a little Jelat but disappears so quickly when it’s shared. Tried their coffees as well — like the dirty sesame and iced latte. Spent around $80 for two sandwiches and two pasta (2 one for one deals) and 4 drinks so a great meal!

Chicken parmigiana One for one pasta — the portion is great. The taste is pretty average but the portion does make up for it.

Chocolate Kurtos ($7) consisted of matcha sauce and matcha crumbs. Finally tried it after a long time. But the kurtos was quite mild texture (not that soft or strong). But chocolate was quite milky texture and not much chocolate aftertaste. But matcha sauce got weird sauce and not that nice tbh.

Cinnamon Kurtos with Royal Chocolate Ice Cream Topped with yam sauce and matcha crumbs. Gimmicky but guess what, I enjoyed it. The ingredients don't come together, just enjoy it as a dumb and fun snack.

Lovely gelato flavours! As you can tell, I really love my ice cream 😂 desserts are important in my gatherings with friends and I'm glad to be back at one of my favourite ice cream shops! We had the gelato and waffles at @smittenicecreambar and we were all impressed by their flavours, with their Mao Shang Wang ice cream being the best. It may be a more expensive scoop, but it was filled with alot of durian meat. It was really fragrant and strong, just like how I would like my durian gelato to be! The Artisan Chocolate also won our hearts. With a rich decadent flavour, it was not too sweet with a very smooth texture. This is one gelato for chocolate lovers! The Biscoff flavour was also not bad, but definitely lighter than the other 2 flavours we've got. The waffle was very crispy, quite decent. Definitely will be back!

Waffle with Ice Cream (Pistachio Almond + Ondeh Ondeh) Pistachio Almond Gelato is a must have here, taste very good. Waffle had a crispy exterior, with a soft interior. Plus, it smells so good. Damn fragrant. Waffles here are freshly baked on the spot.

Double scoops for you? Ordered their Pistachio Almond & Putu Piring and both were surprisingly good! The flavour was quite robust and not too sweet at all. There’s a good amount of crushed almonds for the Pistachio Almond Icecream. Guess what you can even get 5% off for following them on their socials…

Pizza They offer a wide variety of pizza from thick crust to thin crust , it’s pretty good if ure in e mood for pizzas . Those giant capers was awesome , but there was simply too much cream on top the bread , overwhelming everything else on the toast .

Tiramisu For dessert, the Tiramisu ($15) was more than lovely. Not too wet or dry, the stack came together exceptionally well. It wasn’t overly alcoholic in taste and I really enjoyed the citrus/ orange aftertaste I got after each bite. The creme was yummy and the chocolate powder dusted at the very top made it even better!

Parma Pizza A nice balance; crafted with a tangy tomato sauce base, mozzarella cheese, parma ham, stracciatella cheese and sun-dry tomatoes, ANTO Pizza E Aperitivi’s classic Parma ($38) pie was simply amazing. Wonderfully put together, it didn’t feel like a full-blown meaty pizza but rather a moreish and well-executed slice with a bit of everything. Crisp, puffy crust and fluffy-chewy in the middle. The leopard-spotted corners were my favourite parts.
