Hearty Korean Crunchy Potato ($17.90): Visually impressive, great portion, and first bite was full of flavour and crunch. However, you start to realise the outer part is the nicest, towards the middle the potato became more clumpy and one-dimensional. Korean Tofu Stew ($16.90): Flavourful and chockful of tofu, veges, and beef slices. Perfect with rice (+$3). Honeycomb Makgeoli ($13): Less honeycomb and more just-honey, but still very enjoyable. Banchan: Trio of seaweed, braised quail eggs, and kimchi. Quail eggs were so so good. But they seemed to only refill once; the staff proactively helped us to refill the first time but seemd to ignore the empty banchan tray after that. With Burpple, the stew was free which made this a really value-for-money place in the heart of Clarke Quay. Will return again to try the other dishes!

Bread pudding One of the best bread pudding I’ve had ever!

Cheesecake Lovely cheesecake paired with strawberries and a zesty drizzle.

Iced Coffee Milk Served in a tall glass but only filled about three-quarters, quite visually underwhelming. Likely made with G7 Instant Coffee, which they also retail. A fuller pour might dilute the taste, but the current presentation could be improved with a better glass to fit the volume of the coffee or just fill it to the brim.

Papaya Milkshake Thick, creamy, and full of papaya flavour.

Pho Tai Vien ($10) Slurpy flat noodles with loads of sliced beef, beef balls, herbs, and bean sprouts in a bowl of savoury soup. Quite a huge bowl. It was okay tbh. Nothing amazing, but damn filling. Slices were big and chewy but lacked seasoning, so dipping into the provided sauce helped. Beef balls were small, easy to eat, and absorbed the soup essence well. Bean sprouts were generously given, almost a 1:1 ratio with noodles.

Mala Chicken 辣子鸡 A signature and popular Sichuan dish that features cubes of chicken coated with spices and fried until golden brown and crispy along with tons of dried chilli and Sichuan peppercorns. It is spicy yet addictive. Be warned of the electrifyingly spicy and numbing sensation. I personally couldn't take the original level of spice and requested a less spicy 少辣 order which was still numbing and spicy on an acceptable level. 📍 Chuan Wei Yuan 川味園 | #01-1076

Pickled Mustard Fish 酸菜鱼 Sour and spicy broth with pickled mustard greens (酸菜) and fish slices. The yellow-green broth is made with various kinds of pickled veggies such as pickled mustard greens, pickled chilli peppers and pickled ginger. The fish slices are super tender with a velvety silky texture and zesty taste. The portion is good for sharing and it comes with glass noodles in there. Dry Pot Cauliflower 干锅菜花 A classic dish from Sichuan cuisine that features crispy cauliflower florets stir-fried with bacon, garlic, scallion and chilli peppers in an aromatic savoury sauce. Fake 1 for 1 deals The price has been mark up by additional $5-$10 as compare to normal menu price. Feel cheated

Not a real 1-for-1 deal Been here several times. Food here is 10/10. However, did not appreciate that they have a separate price menu for burpple user without informing us. This menu is priced higher than their normal menu. Ultimately only saved ~$5 as compared to 2 mains from their original menu.

Good bowl of Chirashi Easy fix for a bowl of chirashi. What's funny is that they have a separate pricing menu for those using the Burrple 1 for 1, the prices for it was being jacked up. Strange thou.

Onigiri Sandwiches! More of a takeaway kiosk but with a small seating area. We were attracted by the set lunch deal which has an onigiri (from selected flavours) + side + drink for $10.90. The onigiri sandwiches were unassumingly filling, stacked with cucumber slices, luncheon meat, egg, as well as your protein of choice. We chose the otak and the chicken cutlet. While the chicken was really tasty, thought it could be more crisp, but was still very satisfying. We preferred the otak more though - it was so good I tried to ask the chef where they got it from! They declined to share, sadly. The tater tots and curly fries we got were also great, hot and crisp and addictive. The iced/hot lemon tea leaned more towards the homemade tart taste, and washed down the meal nicely. Overall, this was a value-for-money yet satisfying meal. Would definitely return to try the others.

Lunch Crispy Golden Scallop Onigiri Japanese seaweed, Japanese rice, Tamagoyaki, Spam, Japanese cucumber, Crispy Scallop, Ebiko, Togarashi

Sweet treat! Tried the torched marshmallow fluff hot chocolate (there’s a 1 for 1 deal here), it was a little sweet for me. Tried the fudgy brownie too and it was nice. Crème brûlée was great too. My favourite will still be their tiramisu cake and Dubai chocolate pistachio cake! 10/10 would defo recommend. Be sure to pop by early as some popular bakes may get sold out by midday!

Spinach and Salmon pizza $30 Beautiful pizzas, wood fired made fresh in front of you. Prices are a little high but currently they are running a 1 for 1 offer on takeout. Affogato coffee is authentic but average tasting. A must try if you like pizzas fresh and you are around bukit Timah. I recommend the salmon and spinach pizza for $30

Great Pizza! Came here for lunch with my friend. We ordered the Quinta pizza ($19 for M)- Tomato, Mozzarella, Egg and Black Truffle Paste. The first thing that hits you is the truffle aroma and then you take a bite and what fills your mouth is an earthy taste with some acidity from the tomato sauce. Really good and the crust was quite crispy too. Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola ($18)- Gratinated homemade Potato Dumplings with Gorgonzola, cream and ham. Take a scoop of it and what you get is the taste of blue cheese that is not too strong but just nicely balanced with the cream that makes you crave for seconds. The potato dumpling was good as well. It was perfectly cooked and too soft or mushy. Calamari ($14)- Crispy squid rings with Arriabiata sauce and Truffle Mayo. The batter was really crispy but could be seasoned more. Calamari tasted quite under seasoned. Arriabiata sauce is served room temperature and added savoury and acidity to the mild tasting squid. Mayo had very mild taste of truffle. Maybe my pizza and gnocchi killed my tastebuds. Oh well. Passionfruit Iced Tea ($4.80). Tea was good but slightly a bit sweet for my liking. Servers on that day were friendly and food didn't take too long to arrive. Overall a good place to have a meal but skip the calamari.

medium sized pizza enough for 2! ordered the Barbara pizza [$18.50 (M)/ $22.50 (L)] which has tomatoes, mozzarella, spicy Italian minced pork, red onions and olives. it was fresh out of the oven & the cheese melted in my mouth!! 🤤 8/10 would recommend

seafood galore Dined on a weekday evening and got a 7-course set. Service was attentive and our seat had a view of the open kitchen, so we saw chefs preparing our food items fresh on the spot before it got served to us. Standouts for me were the Jumbo Tiger Prawn- Delicious combination of creamy sauce, the fragrant fried shallot that tied everything together and gave an Asian flavour profile- familiar yet elevated. and Kingfish- Smoked and came in two different flavour profiles, thought that the use of kailan was interesting as it resulted in a salty and tangy flavour. Both tasted amazing as the fish was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth.

Prawn it up We had an early birthday celebration here and the ambience was lovely, lit well, and the food was meticulously crafted and cooked by the chefs in front of us. Highlights for me were the 16-day dry aged kingfish loin (smoky flavor emanating), prawn toast and aoili and the jumbo tiger prawns!

Surf and Turf Delicious from start to finish. The crab croquette was crunchy and creamy and Prawn toast was flavourful and crispy. The ribeye steak was cooked exactly right and full of flavor, paired with sweet papaya salad. The haddock burger was fresh and not too heavy. Would happily eat this again.
