My mum has been a supporter of @BaiNiansg yong tau foo at People’s Park Complex Food Centre for years. Now, they have finally opened a branch in Jurong West which is great news for us since it’s near our place. The ingredients include prawn balls, meat balls, bitter gourd, stuffed tau pok [a.k.a. bean curd puff] and bean curd rolls with fish paste that are well marinated and savory taste. However, the soup base is admittedly bland and fall short of expectations on the day of our visit. We hope this is just a one-off occasion and will make our return soon to give it a try again. Kopi C peng 1.6nett (Jin Zhou Leng re yin pin 01-38) No depth, not aromatic. Service sucks also, dude is very rude. Dont be fooled by the never ending queue, it's only cos there's no good alternatives for drinks

Pork innard porridge 3.5nett add egg +0.5 (Hong ji porridge) Their porridge is insanely thick. Can't see grains at all. Definitely add the egg to make it a little bit less viscous Pretty good, for something this thick the flavour was unexpectedly not overwhelming, generous portion of thin liver and reasonably tender pork. Pork balls were on the softer side, needs more bite and more flavour Overall very unique and very good.

Ckn drumstick add liver 5.5nett (hoe kee kitchen) The queue is scary. 10am and more than 10 ppl already, generally it does move fast but it just takes 1 person ordering a whole ckn to slow everyone else down. Everything here is mostly tasteless, even the chili. The ckn has a nice slightly muscular bite but since the sauce is mildly savoury and seriously weak, it honestly isn't v shiok. No wonder u see ppl adding soy sauce Good food at a rather low price, so I'd say it's not worth the travel and queue unless you live in the area

Porridge Master 粥师父 is one of our favorite porridge stalls, a well hidden gem in the west. The porridge is always served in the perfect Goldilockian temperature. Personally i prefer my porridge to be smooth, consistency with soft grainy texture instead of in gruel watery form nor a baby paste food alike. The porridge never fails to meet this. The price is considerably cheap for a stall in the coffee shop. The porridge master is generous with the ingredients and condiments that i can shovel in every spoon. The sliced fish porridge is priced at $3 and the century egg with either chicken or pork is $2.50. This bowl of mixed innards is $3.50.

My Favourite Zeh Bee Hoon My favourite Vegetarian Bee Hoon 斋米粉 from Xin Yi Vegetarian Food 欣意素食, which I think is a crowd favourite too because there's always a long line for this, & on weekends if you're there at 10AM, all the good stuff would've sold out already. You can opt for the Bee Hoon with or without sauce (this one is the latter), & choose to pay more for additional noodles or ingredients or both (hehe). Getuk Ubi This is the sweeter version of the tapioca kueh. However, the tapioca kueh body here is too rough and dry to my liking. Not too sure if this is the texture it should be but i am surprise of the distinct texture since it was the same kueh but a sweeter version.

Getuk Getuk Pressed cassava kueh with grated coconut on top. The tapioca kueh body was soft and texture was mushy in the mouth. Love this as it was not too sweet with the slight savoury coconut on the top.

Ang Ku Kueh Box of 2 for $2.20. Surprisingly the skin is quite thin and filling was generous. The green bean is not overly sweet but just right. May not be as good as poh cheu or jixiang but this can be a short term fix to satisfy craving.

Chocolate Hazelnut Waffle @PrimaDelisg | Jurong West Central 2 | Jurong Point #B1-23. Oh goody! It’s snack time. So, what’s my favourite snack? It’s definitely the freshly-made waffle at PrimaDéli, Jurong Point outlet that I’ll wait faithfully in the queue after 5pm daily. 😬 P.S. Pandan Chiffon Cookies [~$19.80] No doubt the cookies were fragrant but that’s about it. The pandan taste for the cookies could have been stronger and less dry.

Le Castella Cheesecake Jiggly Taiwanese cheesecake which is oh-so-soft and fluffy! The eggy cake is layered semi melted cheese which provides a savoury balance to the cake. It’s pretty light, super moist & not at all cloying! Mmmmmmm!

For Fluffy Castella Cakes Fluffy castella cakes call for a teatime treat. If it's your first time having this sponge cake, the foolproof Classic ($9.90) flavour is a good start — it's eggy without being too heavy. Castella Cake is not bad. But the deal is not as stated. I intended to get 2 cheese but the shopkeeper only allowed me to pay for the cheese flavoured cake and the free one is only original.

Dark Chocolate Sliced Cake | $9.90 each Chilly, melty and lusciously decadent. A comfort to accompany your dark late nights after work.

✋Slices of Dark & Original Cake These slices Original ($7.80) and dark ($8.80) are successive layers of sponge and truffle cake melded together, and with a sifted cocoa powder top layer. I usually like my chocolate dark (~65-70%), so the milk chocolate version was on the sweet side. The dark chocolate slice was slightly better in taste through it probably wouldn’t meet the chocolatey standard to cure PMS. So for the price and taste, the ROI satisfaction: 65%

Chocolate Cakes My first time at chocolates origin but found the cakes a tad dry. Chocolate drinks were also passable.

Mango Cake Pretty good. The cream was delicious and the sweetness balanced out the sour mangoes well. The sponge was also mango-flavoured, reinforcing the flavours as thomas keller keep emphasising. Finally, there's this crushed biscuit layer near the bottom that provided a bit of textural contrast(it wasnt the super crunchy kind), just sth to keep things interesting.

Red Bean Mochi Bun Simple flat green bun filled with red bean and mochi. Red bean was still visible in its original form and the mochi adds on to the chewiness of the bread.

Coffee Cream Bun Grab their clearing promotion at 3 items for $3.80, and this include those seasonal option or newly launched. Dough for this bun was infused with coffee before baked and filled with cream. It comes with walnut bits topping. Nice coffee fragance, generous cream and crunchiness of the walnuts does give this bun a high score.

Lotus Paste Mochi 1.1nett The paste sucks, really sticky and lacks character. Skin wasn't good also

Durian Puff 0.7nett Each Filling was ok but the pastry was dry and limp, I don't think they made it from scratch

Childhood Mini Tarts I don't know if any of my friends or those close to my age remember but these mini tarts are very similar to those I used to buy at my primary school canteen. I would alway buy the chocolate ones as a sweet treat or dessert if I ever had additional money to spare after my meal (one dollar could go a long way in the past). Filled with either chocolate or fruit jam, the alphabets on top is to mark the flavours. I was so excited to see them at NGT Confectionery and just snatched them up without second thought. Though the texture of these tarts are not how I remembered them to be, the taste reminds me fondly of my childhood. Milk Jam Uji Matcha ($12/110g) Tasting like condensed milk and white chocolate, this jar has a lighter green tea fragrance than its roasted counterpart. It's milkier and sweeter with more chocolatey luxuriance. Slather it on toast or waffle, or try it with fruit or ice-cream. . I got my Milk Jam Uji Matcha ($12/110g) from Green Pumpkin but it's also available at Isetan supermarket.

Hojicha Milk Jam ($12/110g) Twist open the cap and the scent of roasted green tea escapes. A slathering on toast or waffle tastes of condensed milk with white chocolate and, of course, green tea. Try this with fruit and ice-cream too. You'll find this Hojicha milk jam jar ($12/110g) from Green Pumpkin bakery soon disappears all too quickly 😆

Has anyone tried the Green Pumpkin bread from Green Pumpkin? Thin dessert crust that has a texture of a fusion between bolo bun and scones, soft fluffy bread and delicious sweet pumpkin filling. Perfect with a mug of green tea latte. Anyone with me? #burpple
