Rosti in a Hawker Centre Ang Moh Zi Char is the only hawker stall in Singapore I know of which serves rosti. Being a big fan of their sister stall Butternut Kitchen and their thin crust fusion pizza, I was kinda looking forward to trying their rosti. For $13, you get a nice sized rosti topped with a salmon fillet and some garden peas. The key to a good rosti is a crispy crust and unfortunately, Ang Moh Zi Char's rosti was soggy and greasy. I will be back for their pizza but will probably give the rosti a miss.

Rosti Order the Rosti with 2 protein (chicken chop NC Salmon which cost $12. The Rosti was served quickly in about 2mins to me that's when I knew it was not cooked to order. The Rosti is soggy and not crispy as I expect. The salmon seems a bit undercook. The only good thing would be the chicken chop which was marinated well. I felt that overall, concept of this stall is good but food is not as good as Butternut.

Seng Kee Handmade Fishball Noodles ($4.50 On Deliveroo) Was very pleasantly surprised by this bowl of noodles! The her kiao (fish dumpling) was qq with good flavour, and the fishballs & fishcakes soft and bouncy. Didn’t really like the minced meat fishball, it had a slight fishy smell. The meekia was slightly thinner then usual, and was chewy. Loved the sambal, which was on the sweeter side, but still savoury and very fiery. This was still piping hot though it was delivered, and they were very generous with the noodles. A good find from deliveroo, I would be interested in heading down to the store when the coronavirus situation has improved :)

Salted Egg Chicken 3/5 - $12 Not bad in terms of taste. I find it difficult to find really nice salted egg in singapore, but this is not bad. As compared to the one at Far East, 3/5. In general 4/5

Fragrant Pork Rice 甘香猪肉饭 Another staple from the Zi Char place that I usually order. You get a fair decent amount of pork slices that's fragrant with onions and coated with a savoury sauce, rice and an egg. A hearty meal; just beware that some of the vegetables that they cook the sauce with can be a bit fibrous and hard to chew. Rating 7/10.

Prawn Paste chicken Pretty decent prawn paste chicken. The skin was crispy and the prawn paste flavour profile was strong enough. A staple for takeaway dinners. The waiting period varies from 10 mins to 20 mins depending on the number of customers that day. Rating 6.9/10

Seafood Hor Fun (Approx $5.50) Got this for lunch during one of the weekdays. It was pretty satisfying overall with distinct enough wokhei (the beansprouts were slightly charred), and topped with a combination of squid, fish slices and shrimps. A robust, quick and satisfying lunch before it's back to work. Will order again !😄

金味沙皮鸡: There’s No English Equivalent, But I Supposed It’s Plum Sauce Chicken?!?😂 ($15) I’m always amazed by how they transform an entire chicken’s worth of meat into this thin sheet! 😂 Basically, each section of meat is spread via slicing strategically and then tenderized (i.e.: absolutely pulverized by smacking👏🏻) to yield a really thin and tender fillet. Not too sure about the process after that, but the crispy chicken skin atop each tender slice is really impressive; just like the topping of roast pork, it actually crackles upon chewing!! Generously coat each piece with the thick plum sauce, and it’s a party in your mouth with a blend of sweet and sour - brought together with a pleasant citrusy kick! 😋

A Special Yam Ring!! As a true blue Singaporean who has had yam rings at every family dinner for the past 21 years, I’d never expect myself to be blown away by what I consider standard Asian fare. But there’s something special about the yam ring served here...apart from the overflowing abundance of veggies, squid, prawns, etc., the yam paste was what stood out most. Smooth and coated in a thin fried layer, the yam paste had a marked cinnamon undertone which did surprisingly did well in elevating the savoury yam flavor. The decorative crispy noodles were really on point as well - fried to perfection, each strand literally melted the second they were popped into my mouth!! Childhood me would’ve loved this 😂 My only gripe would be their soft and rather bland cashews...definitely would’ve fared better with prior roasting!!

Believe It Or Not, This Was Served At A Coffee shop!! Triple Seafood Mee Sua 🍜 Situated at the foot of a newly opened block of flats along Serangoon river, Kimly seafood serves a delightful array of mouthwatering tze char dishes fit for a family feast! We found a couple of their dishes to have character of their own, which really set them apart from their competitors. One of which: the Triple Seafood Mee Sua - loaded with fried quail’s eggs, squid, prawns, sliced fish, mushrooms, nai bai cai...these bits and bobs had their taste all woven together in a thick starchy sea of oyster sauce and threads of longevity noodles!

Har Cheong Gai Wah damn good. But maybe it's just freshly fried.

XO Sauce Mee Pok It's a signature but it's underwhelming. The dryness of the noodles was difficult for the supposed star sauce to shine. Also, it only tasted spicy, and if that's the sauce, then sorry no.

Crab Ee-fu Mee Very wet and good amount of crabmeat. Plus it has the ee-fu flavour I love.

Come here for White Beehoon White restaurant definitely serves 1 of the better white bee hoon u will ever have. Used to order these at least twice a month on food delivery app when i stayed at punggol previously. Their other zhi char dishes are ok, but the main reason u are here, is for their white beehoon!

BBQ Stingray & Creamy Spice Chicken Although they are popular among the tourists for their seafood dishes, they actually attracted me for their individual set meals that not many places offered. I would consider it prefer affordable to have two different meats in one set like this, which mostly offering BBQ stingray with different side meat such as chicken. I would love the sambal but the texture of the stingray meat wasn’t as nice as what I have eaten elsewhere. The creamy spice chicken tasted sweet with hint of spicy. Recommend to add on a slice of egg on it as well.

Chilli squid and stingray They have zichar options and also set combo for individual portions. It ranges from $7.90 to $9.90 for combos from one dish to 2 dishes. I got the $9.90 as I wanted to try their other dishes and also 2 seafood sides for zichar is quite reasonable at $9.90 imo! Absolutely love the chilli squid and sambal stingray. The stingray is probably the most popular dish there. It's spicy but I like that they actually add black bean sauce to it so it's really interesting! I would like to have more sauce though. It's also quite a big piece! The squid was also very well cooked and the sauce is sedap! It's a little on the sweeter side and the gravy goes so well with rice. Will return!

Poached Chicken A little less good .... Still prefer the standards at their River Valley outlet . Chicken tastes more supple there . No demonstration of the pouring of soy sauce over chicken here 🥴.

Xiao Chao Wang (小炒王） My must order fish from boon tong kee. Crisp sweet chai po , crunchy long beans, juicy fried beancurd and crunchy peanuts. An explosion of taste and textures .

Lor Mee Small 6nett I've never had one in KL but I'm inclined to think this is pretty authentic. The execution is on point, from the texture of the ingredients to the quality of the noodles(abit like 凉粉 honestly, none of the disgusting yellow noodles taste at all) and the sweet soy sauce. Heard this is one of the most authentic version here and I'm really glad to have tried it. The chili is bitter and not so good on its own but it works v well w the sweet noodles
