Nasi Lemak Not at River Valley but at this hidden coffee shop within lucky plaza that’s unknown to most . Really like the flavour and texture of the the rice which is made with pure pandan extract . The condiments are good too and portions are generous . The uncle mentioned that they first started out in River Valley hence the name River Valley nasi lemak . I would choose this over the famous sxxxxx nasi lemak which is too expensive for its quality . 4.50 only for such a huge portion and home cooked quality . Definitely a steal !

Nasi Lemak Set Following my earlier post on River Valley nasi lemak . Showing a variant of the nasi lemak set for those of us who love ar cha - a crunchy pickled salad. The star of the dish has got to be the aromatic rice , the fragrant chilli and the generous peanuts and ikan billis . My new favourite for a no fuss , value -max nasi Lemak in town .

River Valley Nasi Lemak In Orchard ? In this rather unknown smaller food court ( near Singapore pools ) in basement one of lucky plaza lies this nasi lemak stall of which I have passed by countless times but didn’t have the time to sit and savour. Finally found my chance on a weekday evening . This nasi lemak is so tasty and value for money - I wanna shoot out to the whole world . Rice infused with real pandan extract - not the bright green poisonous looking ones . Crispy ikan bill and peanuts Good homemade sambal Huge and juicy drumstick Crispy ikan kuning Ok otah - not the best but can do At 4.20 , this was very very worthwhile . Don’t forget to get a hot homemade barley from the drink stall to wash it all down . At 70 cents per cup 🤗

Excellent Gelato Binky Star is a ice cream palour; Situated along Havelock Road, that serves up some quite excellent gelato. With over 10 flavours to choose from, felt so indecisive, too many flavours I want to try, so ended up decided to try 3 different flavours with waffle. 1) Raya Manis - Banana + Coconut + Gula Melaka 2) Triple Cs (Triple Chocolate) 3) Black sesame The Raya Manis was our favourite, rich in flavour, milky. Triple C were good too. Sesame had a string smoky taste that I was nit used to. But the black sesame taste is very distinct. The uncle manning the store also very friendly. Will intro which flavours to go for depending on our preference.

Waffles with Ice Cream Amazing waffles 🧇, paired beautifully with my choice of black sesame ice cream. Came with a small pot of maple syrup for added sweetness.

Raspberry There wasn’t much review about this place online, so I only chance upon this place as I was around looking for some dessert after meal. Surprisingly Binky Star is a much spacious cafe concept that opened along the row with Starter Lab Bakery, serving gelato and drink. So if you looking for some quiet space to grab dessert or drink, this could be a perfect place to go. They offered wide range of gelato flavours to go with.

Besides kueh lapis (original, pandan, prune etc) 🤩, you can also find Kue Rainbow in cake size for celebrations! 🎉 The plethora of kuehs will make you spoilt for choice - be it classics like lopis, kueh salat & onde onde, or less well-known ones like talam ketan, lemper ayam & sambal goreng, you will be equally delighted! 😋

Signature passsionfruit meringue 9.5+gst Finally got my hands on this after years On top of their ulu location, to get a slice you have to call in advance at 1030am on the day itself to check for availability. There was literally just one slice that day lol, but otherwise their sunshine(mango yuzu meringue) should make for a good substitute This cake is really really light, it's no trouble finishing this huge slice at all. The exterior is perfect, it's properly dehydrated and very airy with a good crunch, and the interior is chewy. I'm no baker but I presume it takes great skill to achieve a balanced texture like this. Further, the passsionfruit taste in the cream comes through nicely and works brilliantly Worth a try for sure, though idk if it's worth the trouble

A-Log $72.76 Possibly the best log cake I’ve tasted. The mousse was so creamy and thick and so rich in chocolate. The chocolate coating was a nice complement too. There was also a biscuit base which was filled with biscuits and nuts and chocolate.

Passion Fruit Meringue ⭐️评分：9/10 This is so good, the best meringue I have ever had. The lightly sweetened meringue sponge cake has a nice 'crisp', so delighted with the cake melting in mouth, it's like eating cloud! The passion fruit mousse filling is awesome, finished with fresh mangoes and strawberries cubes. 改变了我对蛋白酥皮蛋糕的认知。第一次吃是在波兰，像云朵一样美丽的蛋糕，一口吃下却是死甜的灾难。后来又试过几次，总是逃不过死甜的设定。 The Patissier的蛋白酥皮，却甜得刚刚好，保持了松酥的口感，整个在嘴里融化，好像在吃云朵一般。夹奶味浓郁的百香果慕斯、新鲜的芒果草莓粒。清爽的酸，淡淡的甜，冰凉的内陷和蓬松又酥脆的口感，简直不能更妙！

Panettone Do not miss their Panettone - the best I've had! Made in Italy 🇮🇹 & imported here, their buttery sweet bread is so fluffy! 🤤 Comes in 3 flavours - Classico ($68) with candied orange peel 🍊 & raisins, Cioccolato ($72) with chocolate chips 🍫, Prosecco ($72) with Prosecco D.O.C.G. cream ☁️!

Christmas cookies Munch on their 🆕️ Christmas inspired cookies ($38/tin) which comes in 3 flavours - Cocoa Almond Biscotti, Italian Pistachio Cookie & Christmas Fruit Crunchies 🍪! Given the harder texture of biscotti, the former pairs really well with hot tea/coffee! I love their pistachio cookie the best - super nutty! 💚 The cornflake & dried fruits in the Christmas Fruit Crunchies made it so addictive!

Raspberry Pistachio Tart 🥧 Raspberry Pistachio Tart 📍Culture Spoon (@culturespoonsg) 📌 River Valley Road 💰 $8.50 Presentation wise, this tart is absolutely stunning. The raspberries were super fresh and sweet, I found the pistachio element slightly underwhelming as it was only within the cream. Would have liked for it to be stronger. Tart base could have been a bit more buttery but not bad! Really like the presentation. ⭐ Rating: 7.6/10 🤑 worth the price: eh 🦖 would I buy again: probably not 💍 would I marry: no

Crabmeat Fried Fried Fragrant wok-hei fried rice packed with crab 🦀 meat. $11.90

Aloha Sunshine 🍹Aloha Sunshine ($5.80++) (7.7/10) A little steep in price given the small size of this drink, but really refreshing and citrusy. Really great for those who love strong and natural fruity flavours!

Chou a la crème Of course, their signature Chou a la crème ($5.80 each) is a must-order! I was in love since the very first time I had their cream puff at the previous spot along Telok Ayer Street. The crunchy nougatine studded with the pastry cream was really the best part - the fun contrasting textures and the sweet nutty flavour. The thin, kinda biscuit-like, crispy exterior and creamy smooth cream complete with specks of vanilla bean were also chef’s kisses.

Peach Tart Ughh take my money!  Though I was there primarily for their ‘Buy 3 get 1 free’ Choux promotion last week, Pantler's seasonal Peach Tart ($12.90) got my whole attention. And it was so freaking good, I practically inhaled it. Felt super lucky as I got the last one on display, the juicy doughnut peach tasted so fresh and sweet. The vanilla custard?/ pastry cream? hidden in the center of the fruit was so yummy. The light Chantilly cream at the very top was a lovely touch too and added that delicate milky fragrance to the handmade crust.

Pastries I understand that most people would come here for their cakes, but they also offer plenty of pastries here as well; which I can take away. It is actually very hard to choose considering there’s many options available on display. I gotten their popular Chou a la crème, spiced fruit pound cake slice and matcha doughnut. Their chou a la crème is a light and crispy chou pastry, filled with pastry cream. Pound cake slice and doughnut available in few flavours.

Mango tango 10.5nett medium Acai and mango. The acai abit too soft and melted at some parts, the fruits were good and the mango ice was way too sweet

Crunchy Peanut Butter Banana Toast Beside enjoying their coffee in the morning, they also served some good toast to kickstart your day. Generous filling of peanut butter spread on the top, which is very creamy and go well with the crunchy toast. The banana pieces add the sweetness to it.

Mocha A small cafe at River Valley that opened pretty early every morning, and it is very popular among the residents living around it. A good place to grab some decent coffee in this area.

Common Man Fluffy Pancakes ($24) Common Man Fluffy Pancakes ($24) I was honestly really excited for the pancakes, considering these were thick! The pancakes came with caramelised bananas and walnuts, salted caramel sauce, nutty crumble & berry coulis. Ngl this didn't taste like a pancake, but more like a cakey texture, which was dense and slightly dry esp at parts without the sauce. It also got jelak so you gotta share this. Kinda expected more for the price, and I'd defo prefer some fluffy pancakes for brunch! Their other dishes might be better tho! Overall Rating: 6/10

Croissant Croque Monsieur ($18) It was extremely crowded during brunch on weekends, but since it was near the area we decided to give their food a try. Croissant Croque Monsieur ($18) Look at that cheese! This croissant was filled with Ham, Bechamel & aged cheddar cheese. Certainly a hearty option for brunch, and it's a combination of flavours and texture that can't really go wrong. The portion might not be enough for some though!

Nitro Honey Oat Latte So good … words cannot describe how elevated this coffee is

Steelcut savoury oats w seafood I love steelcut oats but so few places actually have it n also .. this version is umami packed with seafood flavours . So heathy … love it

BREAKFAST SANDWICH ✨ Breakfast Sandwich ($15) - Homemade pork sausage, American cheddar, egg and spicy pepper relish on our sweet potato roll - get this to try their bread without taking the whole roll 😉 … overrall, the quality is 💯 but price point on the steep side of the portion size (eg the $15 dishes are bit small to be filling🫣) but definitely a special brunch date place to consider still for something different than the usual brunch items!

POTATO AND EGG 💯potato and egg - 63 degree sous vide egg with roasted potatoes, sourdough croutons, chive oil, silky potato espuma and puffed grains ($15)

Loved the food and drinks here! The Werkx Cafe boasts multiple activities such as leathercraft, candle making, pottery and more! They also sell some small bites as well as coffee which we were glad to try! We ordered a couple of sweet and savoury options, such as their all famous muffins, sourdough toasts and pastries, as well as coffee drinks. Here are some of our favourites: 1️⃣ Garlic Croissant ($5.30) - the crunch in their croissant is insane! It was really flaky and buttery. The garlic spread comes with garlic chunks that gave so much flavour and umami! 2️⃣ Chocolate Muffin ($6.80) - we were very surprised to find melted chocolate within the muffin, which gave extra richness! It was incredibly chocolatey and I love the top crust of the muffin as it was crispy. 3️⃣ Iced Mocha ($8.50) - I was afraid that I was too sweet, but I'm glad that it wasn't! The aroma of the coffee did complement the chocolate well and it was definitely a smooth cup. There were also some board games for you to play while you dine here! A cafe to consider in the region.
