Opened by two Korean sisters, this cosy cafe in Jalan Sultan serves only two things — homemade cakes and coffee. The Swiss rolls are the speciality, but come early as there are only six rolls available daily — try the Strawberry Roll Cake ($4.50), which sees fresh cream and a strawberry wrapped within a light, airy vanilla sponge. Unlike the other Swiss roll specialist Rich & Good nearby, The Pound also serves up other excellent cakes like the Fig Pound Cake ($4), which is moist, loaded with dried fruit and absolutely worth your money. We also like that there are seats for patrons to slowly savour the cakes on-site. Wash it all down with a well-brewed Americano ($3).
