It is called taiyaki because it is fish shaped! Did you know, "tai" means sea beam and "yaki" means pancake! At sanokiya, they call it maguro-yaki, which is tuna-shaped pancake! No tuna is in it though! We picked the crispy custard (240 yen) and it was served hot! If you like red bean, you can try their sweet bean paste one!
