Many people would either go for turkeys or Kentucky fried chickens (cue the Japanese) during Christmas Day but we decided to have something different, and what better than Korean BBQ? Located not at Telok Ayer or Tanjong Pagar, Seoul Restaurant is a family-run Korean restaurant housed within Regent Singapore. Not the most common of location to find Korean BBQ, and going to Regent feels like a mini staycation, there’s certainly no grandeur in Seoul Restaurant’s interior setup but what you will feel upon stepping in is going to a Korean home for a meal. You can either opt for the buffet or ala carte which we chose the latter as we were stuffed from lunch, and ordered a portion of the seasoned pork prime-rib with seasoned soy sauce, haemul-pajeon aka seafood pancake and sundubu jjigae. The bill comes up to $90+ for everything and whilst it’s not the cheapest around, it’s still an above-average option to escape from the crowded city and the best part is the ventilation as you don’t feel like a bbq meat yourself after the meal.
