Oily carrot cake After seeing lots of review and people posting it, finally decided to give this place a try. Ordered their small portion at $4 and waiting time at 7.30am is 1 hour. The chye poh was not salty and clean. However, I was disappointed in the carrot cake itself for it being very oily and the wok hey is not there. It kind of feel unsettling in my stomach which I not sure is that their usual standard. Overall, wouldn't come back for it

Achievement unlocked Probably my most elusive food. Been so many years. I've visited twice previously with no success. This time we came early on a weekday and it was fast. Serving chye por on the side is their quirk. The carrot cake itself comes in slices, each one slightly crispy and inside was fluffy. It's refined, but not the very best I've eaten.

Moist and tender chicken Had the steamed chicken rice ($3.80) which the chicken is moist and tender. Also, the chilli is watery type & was served cabbage instead of cucumber. It feels like the chicken rice is more Thai style

Curry Chicken Noodle ($5) Curry broth was rich, savory, and delicious. Big pieces of chicken which had bones in but the meat was tender. I slurped this up in no time.

No Doubt It’s A Good Plate Of Chicken Rice! Ordered their Chicken Rice Set (SGD4) as shown above. Absolutely no complaints but TBH it didn’t exactly stand out for me too… Definitely above average but don’t travel all the way down for this😄

Laksa ($4) Still my favourite laksa stall since childhood days, and yes it has been that long. From a Si Gina to a Lao Uncle already, this bowl has followed me through the years. Now they serve only one size at one price, $4 per bowl, which is affordable and delicious given today’s economy. Laksa ($4) You can select thick bee hoon, thin bee hoon, or yellow noodles, with the option to mix them. I went with thin bee hoon, which soaked up the broth beautifully. The bowl was generous, filled with tau pok that released bursts of broth when bitten, crunchy beansprouts, crabstick, fishcake, hard boiled egg, and cockles that added briny depth. The broth was dense and coconutty with hae bee hiam flavour, smooth and balanced rather than overwhelming. Their homemade dried shrimp sambal is really good. Just a small dollop melts into the broth, adding savoury heat, smoky depth, and a punch of umami that transforms the entire bowl. Honestly, I always want to add more because it is that addictive, but the extra charge makes me hold back. Even a modest spoonful, though, is enough to make the laksa unforgettable. Sprinkling laksa leaves adds fragrance, completing the bowl with a fresh herbal lift. Overall, this laksa is nostalgic, hearty, and tastisfying. The long smooth rice vermicelli noodles are chewy with mild grainy sweet flavour, and the fiery chunky sambal belachan lends a savoury salty spicy kick. .
