Char Siew + Siew Yoke rice Both meats were very flavourful, roasted till tender. The siew yoke was crispy on the edges and chewy on the inside. Delicious! Pretty worth the walk into the ulu industrial area. Iâve not tried her sisterâs version before but I enjoyed this one very much - my friend has tried both and she prefers Mei Meiâs. :P
We paid $11 for a plate of duck rice and a plate of charsiew + siew yoke rice, which is pretty reasonable for the quality. I heard that if you want better cuts, youâve to come earlier.
We visited on a weekday afternoon and the coffeeshop was quite busy with the workers around the industrial area coming here for their lunchtime. We were just two people, so it was easy to slot ourselves in.
The owner was so sweet, she was serving with a smile - that made a great impression. :)
