Sea Urchin on Squid Ink Most of the dishes are designed for sharing. The umami from the Sea Urchin ($27) is not for the feint hearted. One or 2 bites is sufficient if not it will get very heavy on the palatte.

If You Feel Like Socializing The famous signature dish - uni on squid ink and egg yolk pudding - is innovative and truly sublime! I could easily have several of those in one meal! Other dishes are quite good (the simple tomato salad oozes sweetness and freshness), but not necessarily memorable: the ribeye steak could be more tender; there’s not much tongue in the beef tongue hash; the white asparagus is slightly overcooked. The biggest compliment to Lolla is the fact that these talented local chefs have succeeded in coming up with such innovative and good western dishes, even better than at restaurants headed by western chefs. Excellent service. I prefer to eat at the counter, and watch/talk to the chefs, rather than at the big communal table in the basement; you also get the dishes directly from the chefs! Pricey, but worth it! No Nonya dishes cooked with canola but Lolla is still lollapalooza

Best & Strongest Coffee Can’t count the number of times I’ve come here just for their coffee - I’ve been coming here since they were Dancing Goat specialty coffee, and even now after they’ve rebranded (the coffee stayed exactly the same, still crazy good). We always get the iced white and it’s really strong and packs a punch with a ton of flavour and that caffeine kick. Truly a hole in the wall, but definitely not one to be trifled with.

My Fav Weekend Chill Out Spot Been a regular of Narrative for a few months now ever since Tong joined forces with the original couple behind Dancing Goat and I was contemplating whether to review or not because I didn’t want this place to get more crowded than it already is. But I do want them to succeed so here’s my review! I always order the dirty matcha with soy milk (not on the menu) and I love it unsweetened. The contrast between the bitter matcha, and distinct well-bodied espresso roast, is rounded off and goes great with soy milk. After much feedback, they’ve also started to become more adventurous with their baked items and this was the first weekend they baked the sticky date pudding. I taste tested it the day before, and fortunately they decided to warm up the butterscotch sauce to drizzle and serve it today. The sticky date pudding isn’t too sweet, and it’s moist plus soft. Not the best I’ve had (that would still go to PS Cafe), but it’s pretty decent and makes a nice accompaniment with their drinks.

Iced White Contains: iced white, lemon sheet cake, sticky date pudding Price: $5.50 (for the iced white) Promo: 1-for-1 on Burpple Beyond Worth Eat? 🌕YES🌕 I don’t know how to describe coffee but I know a good coffee when I taste one and this was great! It’s strong and the flavours were balanced. The pastries we had were both too dense though.

Great Affordable Homemade Pasta Staff were very friendly and helpful; they patiently explained the restaurant concept and gave recommendations. We tried the Crazy Carbonara ($15.90) that was recommended, and no regrets!! Sauce was pleasantly light for a carbonara and the pieces of smoked duck were tasty. Apparently they revamped their menu to include more sauces (pesto, tomyum etc) and I would come back again to see what other pasta types they have and to try other pasta dishes! 😍😍

Arabiatta W Paprika Fusilli Yum, there were 3 choices of pasta and i chose paprika fusilli. Not for those who love spicy though, the tomato sauce is quite sweet. Not bad for a student they have lynch set meal for $9.90 & $11.90. Homemade ice lemon tea is included and it taste like honey is in it

Seafood Pomodoro ($15.90). I'd be honest, I don't think it was good. It's decent but I don't understand the crowd they draw. - What I don't understand is their insistence on offering only "special" varieties like the lemon garlic fettuccine here instead of proper plain pasta (I asked). Sometimes less is more. - Still, credit where it's due. Pasta was cooked to al dente with a good bite (though it was not rolled thin enough and became a bit chewy). The amount of seafood given was generous. Pomodoro sauce was balanced. Not sure if that extra tick of citric zest from the pasta was needed though (the other pasta on selection would have fit even less FYI). - Not exactly authentic, and the lack of normal pasta is a jarring decision, but Tipo is still a good alternative to the many "casual" pasta places in the same price range.
