at an hour when most Singaporeans are still rolling in bed, I was up and about to Toa Payoh Sports Stadium by 6.30am, ready for my induction to Running Hour, a cooperative that focuses on integrating the intellectually/visually/physically challenged into a healthier lifestyle. at the induction, we had to pair up with a buddy, be blindfolded and totally trust our buddy in guiding us to walk out of the stadium, cross the road and head into the housing estate, then go up/down 3 flights of stairs. on the way back, we switched roles. when we got back to the stadium, we had to take turns being blindfolded and ran round the track too. all these may not sound difficult, but they are. for us, who take our sight for granted everyday, it is neither easy to "blind" nor to be a guide. I actually bumped into a wall and another human cos my guide didn't tell me there were obstacles in front of me. every little step, literally and figuratively, helps. I'm so glad to be part of this running group now. maybe some day, I can really guide them in an actually race. for now, let's just enjoy some good ol' Kiliney Kopitiam brekkie @igsg #igsg #singapore #foodpornasia #burpple #setheats #eatoutsg #sgfood #foodsg #sgfoodie #singaporeeats #sgcafe #sgcafehopping #sgcafefood #chopesg @cafehoppingsg @sgcafefood @sgfoodie @runninghour #runninghour #runwithme
