Spicy Ganache (RM 12) & Welsh Cakes (RM 15) are our picks this round.
Spicy Ganache is part of IDC's unconventional affogatos whereby ganache is poured over their Spicy Apple Crumble ice cream, instead of the usual combination of coffee and vanilla based ice cream. It's very unique as the ganache has a slight bitter after taste which could offset the sweetness found in the ice cream. However, due to spices have been added into the original apple crumble flavour, it might be advisable to share the Spicy Apple Crumble ice cream as you might get a pretty intense spicy after taste if you have it all by yourself.
The less impressive is the Welsh Cakes top with Vanilla ice cream as I find this combination pretty ordinary. I have no idea whether it's due to they substituted the Vintage Strawberry ice cream with Vanilla flavour hence, it has slightly altered the whole combination. Nonetheless, it won't hinder me from going back as I'm interested in trying out other unique combination and in the near future, they will be introducing more flavours so save your tummy for their non-conventional offers!
Tortilla wrap is something that I would always opt for as it's a little healthier than the normal main dishes served in restaurants. Mace by CC serves 3 types of tortilla wraps, ie Chicken, beef and smoked salmon which the prices range between RM 16 - RM 21. Personally, I prefer the Beef Bacon Tortilla Wrap (RM 16) as it packs a little more flavour and perfect as a main for small eater like me. While enjoying the tortilla wraps, diners could order a cup of their iced/hot coffee with 3D arts and I swear, the 3D arts are so cute you wouldn't wanna destroy it at all. The coffee with 3D arts range from RM 16.50 to RM 32.
Hump day's dinner at this much talked about Thai street food restaurant since our weakening MYR has prohibited us to physically go Thai, so dining at Go Thai will make do for now. Items that we have ordered (clockwise) were Moo Ping (RM10), Pha Gra Pow Moo (RM9), Tom Yum (RM13), Kwey Tiaw Nam Sai (RM 7.50). While the food did not blow our mind, but it's good enough to bring back all the memories of all the good food that we had in BKK. So if you are tired of the Thai restaurant chains in shopping malls, why not drop by here to have an authentic Thai meal at a price which is friendly to our poor wallet. 😆
Another new kid in this ice cream industry! As compared to Inside Scoop, the flavours are lesser but equally unique! Tried "lemongrass & ginger" as well as "black doris plum & creme frainche" this round and oh boy, I was so happy that these two flavours were not overly sweet. The price for their ice cream is pretty standard, RM 8 for a scoop and RM 12 for two scoops. So head down there and give this new kid a try.
Newly opened cafe at Uptown which serves some unconventional brunch fares. We have tried the Grilled Chicken Avocado (RM 31), the chicken breast is moist and yummy but those who can't take spicy food have to be careful because the grilled chicken is pretty spicy coupled with their spiced tomato salsa. Also, we have ordered the Big Belly (RM 25) which I absolutely adore this dish. It comes with beets, quinoa (!!!!), hummus, arugula leaves etc and tada, an unconventional salad is born for our enjoyment! Try it if you have not!
Matcha waffle tops with shiratama, strawberries and azuki with a side of black sesame ice cream (RM 19). This plate comes with a very hefty price tag imo as all these are normal ingredients which one could get it easily and we wolfed down within 15 mins so the portion has not justified the price tag as well. The waffle with the azuki beans are absolutely heavenly but at this price, I doubt I'll do a second visit as I still can't justify the price tag to my wallet.
If you are a fan of green tea and brownie and sesame ice cream, REJOICE!! Rekindle is serving green tea brownie with your choice of green tea of black sesame ice cream. I was basically squealing in my heart when I saw this and wow, Rekindle really does their job best! The brownie itself is not too sweet and add on with a scoop of black sesame ice cream, the whole combination is a happy orchestra dancing in your mouth. Another plus point is their staff is so friendly and keeps checking on us to make sure that everything is fine. One brownie point for them!
This place sells the most extensive juices and smoothies that I have ever seen and boy, those smoothies were so good that we felt sad when we finished it. (Rome, Italy)
Always a loyal fan of #insidescoop cos almost everytime I visited the branches, I discovered a new flavour and for this round, it's peanut butter jelly! Kudos to the team behind Inside Scoop to keep churning out new flavours but kinda bummed that most of their flavours now are premium flavours which an additional RM 1.50 is charged. Nonetheless, I'll still willingly pay the additional RM 3.50 (premium flavours + handmade cone) because that's most of the time, this is the most convenient way to buy myself a little dose of happiness, amidst the towering workload & stress. So, if you have not visited Inside Scoop for awhile, please make your move there and get a taste of this delish flavour!
DIY breakfast where you can choose from 3, 5 or 7 items from a list of the usual breakfast suspects such as eggs anyway u want, sausages, ham, bacon, caramelised banana etc. This cafe has gone through at least 4 years of business and even though the food is no as mind blowing as other hipster cafés nowadays, but it's decent enough to fill up your tummy if you are working around the vicinity & hey, not many cafés let you customize your own big breakfast ok. "Having normal chicken sausages are too mainstream, fret not, we've got it covered, caramelised banana it is." 😂
Walked into this shop with my expectation hovering between the thought of an overpriced McD ice cream and a slight hope that it will at least justify the price that I'm going to pay. I've decided to try Deep Chocolate with Churros (RM11) and plain Oolong Tea (RM9) but unfortunately, the deep chocolate soft serve does not justify the price tag. It tastes like a premium McD ice cream, and that's all it's about it. On the other hand, the Oolong Tea soft serve is worth giving it a try as it's not common to have such flavours going around in the market.
This is the first time in my life I tried cempedak, not in the form of real fruit, but dessert. 😂#dessert #dessertlover #dessertwhore #burpple #burppletastemaker #burpplemalaysia #foodcoma #foodgasm #foodie #mycafefood #meibyfatspoon #love #igfood #vscofood
