#TIP: Please call before heading down, I did not realise a reservation was required before heading down and ended at making a reservation on the spot and had to wait over an hour for our seat.

We tried both the Gyuniku Curry (Beef Slices Curry) and the Chicken Katsu Curry (Chicken Curry).

The curry taste was consistent in both dishes, it both tasted good with little slices of carrots. The portion was decent.

For the Gyuniku Curry, some of the beef slices were noticeably chewy and tougher than I had expected, but some beef pieces were made just right, tender and easy on the chewing (I am not sure what is the reason to the inconsistency in the meat slices), overall it was still acceptable.

For Chicken Katsu Curry, I would think it was better compared to the Gyuniku Curry. The Chicken was crispy and tender on the inside, paired with curry it was a good combination.

Overall, it’s an acceptable place if you’re looking for a convenient place to get your curry don fix, considering that Sakae Sushi has multiple locations across Singapore. Even better if you’re paying 1-1 using burrple beyond.

For starters, we started with the mushroom soup. Which really tasted like it was made using real mushrooms and cream. Best eaten hot.

We ordered two ribeye steaks in medium well and medium. The steak done in medium well was less chewy and a little dry, while the steak done in medium was more juicy and chewy. Having tasted the steak both medium and medium well. I do not have a personal preference between the two, it really depends on what you prefer. Either way, I thought the steaks were delectable and we both enjoyed our steaks.

For the sides, we had the mash potato and truffle fries. The mash potato was soft and sticky with a tad of cream taste. The truffle was really subtle in the truffle fries compared to others we’ve tried before but it was good enough.

Overall we would recommend coming here for date nights or dinner with friends especially if you have the burpple deal option.

If you’re looking for a light and healthy meal, you don’t have to look further. This place has pretty decent açaí bowls that comes with a variety of fruits, granola and nuts. The bowls are pretty and the açaí bowls taste good. It’s a little more watery than expected but that’s not really an issue for us. The only real downside was that even when we ordered the largest size, it wasn’t filling enough to be a full meal but a half meal or part meal. So if you’re on a diet or just looking for something in between meals. This might be perfect for you.

On appearance wise, the noodles look delectable and generous in sauce. If you’re afraid of spiciness like me, rest assured that the hokkien mee comes with chili on the side so you can avoid the chili if you want. Or take a tiny taste of the chili like I did, and I’m pleased to say that the chili was hardly any kick for me and added a little kick to the noodles.

On the first bite alone, I could definitely taste the charcoal or wok hei taste in the noodles. The noodles was soft, wet and the sauce was tasty. The prawns were sizable and juicy. I definitely think the prawns were pretty decent.

Overall I would think it made a pretty decent meal and it seems like most people who come here are for the prawn noodles as well. PS: there was a queue but we got our noodles really quickly and didn’t have to wait for long.

One of my top favorite places to get my salmon cravings fix is none other than Salmon Samurai. Tucked nicely in the CBD area of the Tanjong Pagar vicinity, within walking distance to the mrt station. The yuzu brown rice paired with the mentaiko salmon hits the spot for me. I love how the rice was soft and supple with a hint of yuzu, paired with mentaiko salmon that was a good portion for me. I added the onsen egg and ordered the $2 salmon soup. It was definitely healthy and delicious. â €
