Grilled Tiger Prawns Linguini Great al dente and chew for the linguini. Not super huge prawns but big enough to taste and bite prawns. All 3 prawns were very fresh. $12 for this dish in air conditioned, comfortable environment. Will highly recommend!!

Tom Yum Yummy Ever since it became trendy, I haven't been a fan of Tom Yum pastas.. Simply because I've had too many that fall flat - either tasting too artificial or too watered down. At first glance, you might think that At the Myo's Tom Yum Prawn Pasta ($12.00 nett) falls under the latter category - but you are absolutely WRONG. I'm glad I read a review of this dish before I decided what to order (though, surprise surprise, it was a review from the year 2017!). What he said still holds true - it's a soup, as opposed to a creamy pasta. & that was a winner for me, because oftentimes I find tom yum cream pastas too damn artificial. Despite it being a soup, it was still welcomingly milky, fragrant & harmoniously sour & spicy. I really wanted to slurp it down quickly, but I was already breaking out in a little sweat, so I had to pace myself. The portion is pretty good - served in a deep bowl with plenty of spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms & soup. The spaghetti was done al dente, & the prawns cooked perfectly to a nice glassy texture, with a good crunch to them. However, with their tails on, I felt they were difficult to peel in a deep bowl.. .. But I can overlook that since I enjoyed this dish so much. I am impressed. 💷 Cash/NETS only 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 📞 Reservations possible - I just walked in, though 📱 Accepts GrabPay & FavePay 📶 No free WiFi

Surprised & Liking It I rarely order soups because they disappoint easily. However, this being listed as a "Homemade Mushroom Soup" ($4.50 nett) piqued my curiosity. Even though it isn't the chunky variant, I was pleasantly surprised by it's earthy flavours (which I tend to look for in mushroom soups), & a slight cheesiness that gave this soup an added dimension without any MSG-laden saltiness. The only other soup on the menu, the French Onion Soup ($4.50++), will be the next one I try when I return. I kind of have my hopes up 😍 💷 Cash/NETS only 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 📞 Reservations possible - I just walked in, though 📱 Accepts GrabPay & FavePay 📶 No free WiFi

Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle | Mixed Noodle (yellow Noodle + Kway Teow) $5 + $0.60 for Container Takeaway Pressed for time but being a foodie we are quite picky what to takeaway! 😉 (Didn’t know that some wait quite long for this stall). Just know that they are famous in Toa Payoh and moved from Lor 6 to Lor 4. We went ahead at 12.20 pm and the lady at the stall switched from “Lai Lai” to “no more mee pok & mee Kia” 🔁 . We ordered $5 | dry | yellow noodle| container takeaway (opt out plastic). We got the paper queue number and checked at the electronic board (got our order in just 7 mins).🛎 . When we open the box, we are very pleased to see lots of ingredients (sliced pork, mince pork, liver and 2 pcs of abalone, bean sprouts ). Quite perplexed that we got both yellow noodle + Kway Teow.😄 . The chilli & vinegar coat the noodle well with some lard traces. We enjoy their mixed bundle braised mushroom flavor & texture esp. abalone (only wish they have some greens) to make us feel healthier!! 💪😜💪

Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles (Bak Chor Mee) 香菇肉挫面. There is dry and soup version. I prefer the dry version as I enjoy the springy noodles with delicious chilli sauce and vinegar gravy. Sometime I order Mee Pok or Kway tiao and yellow Noodles. Depend on my mood. They will add toppings like braised mushroom, minced pork and pork lard. Yum yum. Believe it or not whenever I am overseas, the dish I miss most is actually this simple local dish - Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles! . Featuring Lai Heng Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles ($4/$5/$6) from Toa Payoh. We ordered $5. It also includes abalone slices and pig liver slices. The tender abalone and its fragrance brings up the mushroom minced meat noodles to the next level. The mushrooms were tender. Ingredients were fresh and the noodles were well mixed with the flavorful chilli sauce. Yum yum. Try it when you are in the area. Be warned they often have long waiting time. Some people wait for an hour. I was lucky to just wait for 15 minutes. They will give you a queue number and you will just wait for your number to be called. So not too bad. You can sit and enjoy your drink while waiting. ============================ Lai Heng Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles 📍01-611, 73 Lorong 4 Toa Payoh 📍Singapore 310073 🕛Mon - Tue: 08:00 - 16:00 🕛Thu - Sun: 08:00 - 16:00 🕛Closed: Wed 📞+65 96202074 ============================ Blog: http://www.eatdreamlove.com ============================ Eatdreamlove made an anonymous visit and paid for the food reviewed ============================ #singapore #burpple

Bak Chor Mee This stall has a good queue system. You order, pay, take a queue number tag and sit anywhere in the coffee and collect when you see your queue number flashed. No standing to queue! The noodle is cooked well not sticking together and the ingredients are fresh and chilli sauce was well mixed in the noodles. Overall it’s a good BCM.

One Of The Best Ice Cream Places Geometry is one of the best local ice cream joints in my books - alongside my other favourites of Apiary, Creamier and perhaps Birds of Paradise. The texture of the ice cream is superb and the flavours are really unique, with a local twist.

Waffles with Little Nyonya & Pistachio Ice Cream I love these HDB ice cream parlors; they seem to have a personality and coziness to them that is different from that of the cafe enclaves. This is their Belgian waffle with two scoops of ice cream, and it is affordable at just $12.40 The Little Nyonya is essentially Geometry's take on the popular sea salt gula melaka. I loved it because the gula melaka added a layer of a slightly toasted, coconutty flavor. The salt flavor could be just a tad stronger. The Pistachio flavor tasted very 'raw', with a hint of not-very-pleasant bitterness. There were some chunks of actual pistachio nut folded into the ice cream though. The ice cream was smooth without being overly rich, with a perfect, gorgeous texture. And the Belgian waffle was really good too. Made to order, it had a crisp exterior and a wonderful vanilla fragrance. It was fluffy on the inside (although I wish it could be a tad fluffier) and paired beautifully with the ice cream. My mom and fellow ice cream explorer left very happy and satisfied indeed. 8/10

Single scoop [~$3] (Non-premium flavour) Located underneath the block of HDB flats opposite ABC brickworks, Geometry makes an ideal place to unwind after a hearty meal. As compared to other places, the prices of ice cream here is significantly lower with a good variety of standard and unique flavours. Still have space in your stomach? Pair the sweet treat with some light fluffy waffles.

🇸🇬 #NotSponsored Had an amazing time grabbing 🍜 at @ikkousha.sg at @chijmes.sg ! There’s a @jpassportsg coupon to grab as many gyozas as your age if it’s one day before, on or one day after your birthday! So, let’s just say my dining partners had to cancel all their gyoza orders 🤣 The gyozas here have a thin and crispy skin and loaded with meaty juices with some veggies! Definitely worth the queue! 🥟 P.S they do not take reservations.

Tonkotsu Ramen ($12.50) I’m not the biggest fan of ramen, but I enjoyed the Tonkotsu ramen here 👍🏼😋! The ramen noodles were thin and springy (and you can even customize how soft or firm you want the noodles to be!). And the pork broth was very flavourful. They also provide free-flow hard boiled eggs and condiments. I recommend trying Takana (spicy pickled mustard leaf), as it goes well with the ramen 😋

Tonkotsu Mentaiko Special Simply put, Hakata Ikkousha Ramen wowed me again with their Tonkotsu Mentaiko Special (S$18.00), which came with creamy pork broth with Mentaiko flavour and a hint of spiciness. I found that with a regular broth, every sip of the soup carried this seafood umami that probably came from the Mentaiko, so I was actually pleased with the flavours of the broth. Not only that, getting “Hard” noodles was actually quite a good choice that I had made, because the noodles somehow tasted firm but did not soak in too much of the chilli oil. Thank goodness for the pitcher of iced water on the table, I was assured that I could drink up after the meal, especially when the broth was on the salty side. However, it should be salty enough to bring out the feel in authentic Japanese Ramen.
