I took my wife to Ingleside this evening to celebrate her birthday, and we were truly impressed by the incredible attention to detail the chef has put into this restaurant.
I learned that their Wagyu meats are dry-aged, and all their condiments are fermented in-house. Most dishes are grilled over applewood fire, which gives them a distinctive aroma and depth of flavor.
Following the manager’s recommendation, we ordered the Lampino Ibérico Chuletero, which had been dry-aged for 14 days, and the Tajima MBS Wagyu Picanha with grilled asparagus to share. The combination was perfect as the meat was exceptionally tender and the subtle applewood smokiness enhanced its flavor beautifully.
Their homemade sourdough bread paired wonderfully with the fermented tomato butter, also made in-house.
The lemon ginger spritz was refreshing and balanced. It is definitely a must-try drink that complemented our meal perfectly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and are already looking forward to returning soon to try their A5 Striploin.
After a slow start to the week, my wife and I decided to wind down the evening with a quick bite at Pizza Express, accompanied by some beer to relax before heading home.
We started with a serving of baked chicken wings while waiting for our main courses which we have ordered seafood pizza and Linguine al Granchio, which we planned to share.
The combination turned out to be an excellent match. The linguine was generously topped with steamed crabmeat in a spicy cream sauce, beautifully finished with caviar and a touch of lime. The seafood pizza didn’t disappoint either. It came loaded with prawns, squid, mozzarella, capers, and olives, all on a base of flavorful seafood tomato sauce. The crust was thin and crispy just like the ones we enjoyed back in Rome few years back.
To complete the meal, we paired it with some ice-cold Corona beer, which complemented the seafood flavors perfectly.
We enjoyed the dinner so much that we’ve already decided to bring the kids back this coming weekend.
We stumbled upon a cosy dining spot after meeting my wife at MBFC Tower 3 after work today.
Despite not having a reservation, the staff warmly welcomed us and managed to secure a table for two even though the restaurant was about 75% full. Their friendliness and attentiveness stood out from the start.
On the waiter’s recommendation, we began with the baby squid fritters  which was fried to a perfect crisp without being greasy. A great start to the meal.
My wife went with their signature Irish duck leg confit, which was beautifully seasoned, tender, and perfectly grilled. I chose the grass-fed ribeye, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Â It was juicy and full of flavour, served with crispy fries and a fresh side salad.
To wrap up our meal, we shared their signature cheesecake alongside freshly brewed coffee. Â a delightful pairing to end the evening on a sweet note.
I also appreciated their communal dining concept, where sharing plates were provided by default. Â The staff remained attentive throughout, making the entire dinner enjoyable.
It was a wonderful evening with great food and service. We’ll definitely be back again soon.
To celebrate a recent job promotion, we decided to treat ourselves to a special 8-course dinner at One Prawn Co — a spot we’d heard rave reviews about from friends.
The restaurant opened its doors at 6 PM, and by 7 PM, it was nearly a full house. If you’re planning a visit, we highly recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.
We chose the fixed 8-course dinner set, paired with wines of our choice. The oysters were a refreshing start which was incredibly fresh. We enjoyed one raw and the other grilled, savoring the best of both preparations.
One of the standout dishes of the evening was the prawn toast with aioli which was perfectly crispy and generously filled with prawn paste, delivering a truly satisfying bite. This was followed by the jumbo prawn, grilled to perfection to preserve its natural sweetness. Another highlight was the 16-day-aged kingfish, which was tender, rich in umami, and beautifully balanced in flavor.
All in all, we had a fantastic night celebrating the promotion. One Prawn Co impressed us with their skillfully prepared seafood dishes that showcased freshness, flavor, and texture. A big thank you to Chef Gwyneth and her team for making our celebration a delicious and memorable one.
I stayed at Lyf Farrer Park Singapore over the weekend for a staycation with my son and we decided to have breakfast at the Yeast Side café located at the lobby. The ambience was warm and lively, with soft background music and genuinely friendly staff who welcomed us with big smiles.
Since it was our first visit, I asked the cashier for recommendations, and he suggested their popular focaccia sandwiches, highlighting the Sri Lankan Chicken and the Smashed Beef as signatures. They also offer a good range of salads and light bites, so we went with his advice and ordered the Smashed Beef Sandwich along with a Burrata Salad to share. For drinks, we tried their signature Form Series Matcha.
The recommendations did not disappoint. The Smashed Beef Sandwich stood out with its perfectly toasted focaccia, which added just the right amount of crunch, holding together juicy Black Angus beef patties, crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, and a flavorful onion marmalade. The Burrata Salad was equally impressive, balancing creamy burrata with peppery arugula, sweet-savory garlic-roasted tomatoes, and crunchy croutons, all elevated by a honey-thyme dressing that tied the flavors together beautifully. The iced matcha drink was refreshing and smooth, combining earthy matcha with creamy milk and a touch of sweetness which is a lighter yet energizing alternative to coffee.
Overall, it was a delightful breakfast experience and I’d gladly recommend Yeast Side café to friends looking for a cozy spot with hearty food and great service.
My wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner when we stumbled upon this restaurant along Tanjong Katong Road. Curious, we decided to give it a try and we’re so glad we did.
The interior took us on a nostalgic trip back to the ’70s, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made us feel very welcomed. After a few recommendations from the person in charge, we decided on two main courses and a dessert.
I ordered the Double Bacon Smash Burger, and it was absolutely fantastic. The homemade brioche bun was soft and buttery, and the Wagyu patties were cooked to perfection. Both my wife and I agreed it tastes better than Shake Shack’s version any day.
My wife went with the Homemade Spaghetti with Fresh Crab Meat in Special Chili Sauce. The flavors were bold and unique, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A word of advice: go with the normal spice level because it already packs quite a punch! :)
For dessert, we tried the Durian Crème Brûlée, and it was the highlight of the evening. Topped with pure durian pengat and served with fresh blueberries and strawberries, it was one of the best crème brûlées we’ve ever had. A must-try for durian lovers!
We were at Changi City Point looking for dinner when we chanced upon the signboard of Salmon Warrior, which featured appetising images of salmon dons available for takeaway. My wife and I decided to give it a try — and to our surprise, it turned out to be a tasty and convenient option, especially for those short on time.
We ordered the Salmon Don, which came with a generous portion of fresh salmon. The Ultimate Unagi and Beef Don also didn’t disappoint, with a hearty serving of flavourful unagi and tender beef slices. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there’s a free option to upgrade to brown rice, which is a great touch for health-conscious diners.
The Cheesezilla Yakitori lived up to expectations as well — juicy, tender, and packed with flavour.
Overall, we were happy with our quick dinner from this takeaway spot, and we’ll certainly be back again.
My wife and I were in the mood for some Korean BBQ, so we decided to try House of Chungdam at Duxton Road, after it was highly recommended by a close friend.
I’m so glad I made a reservation in advance because the restaurant was completely packed on a typical weekday night. The staff were incredibly friendly and courteous, quickly ushering us to our table as soon as they found my name.
We opted for the House Feast Pork Set, which came with generous portions of pork neck, pork jowl, and pork belly, along with two side dishes which was perfect for two people. We also added their famous mini cold noodles to share, along with a bottle of chestnut makgeolli (rice wine) to complement the meal.
The experience was fantastic, especially because someone cooks the meat for you at the table. This allowed us to enjoy our food without the hassle of grilling it ourselves, giving us more quality time together. The pork neck and belly were cooked to perfection and the outside was crispy, and the inside remained tender and juicy. The accompanying vegetables were a perfect pairing, and we absolutely loved the variety of side dishes. A great bonus is that they’re refillable!
When the mini cold noodles arrived, we were initially surprised by the large bowl, but as it turns out, it was the “mini” version. The noodles were perfectly chewy and paired beautifully with a refreshing, light broth, definitely a must-try. The two side dishes were a hearty soybean jjigae (soybean stew) packed with beef, and a steamed egg dish that was just the right size for two.
The interior of the restaurant was lovely, and we really appreciated how the space didn’t have that overpowering BBQ smell, which can often linger in Korean BBQ spots. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was comfortable.
The House Feast set was excellent value for money, and I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time to avoid any disappointment, as walk-ins might have a hard time securing a table.
My wife and I finally decided to try this prawn noodle restaurant after noticing the long queues forming outside on several occasions. Curiosity got the better of us, and we arrived around 7pm. As expected, there was already a line, and we waited for about 15 minutes before being seated at a table for two.
As we settled in, the rich, fragrant aroma of prawn broth filled the air, an appetising welcome that set the tone for what was to come.
I ordered the Zhup Zhup Supreme Prawn Noodle, which came with a generous medley of ingredients: prawns, pork ribs, prawn balls, pork shabu, and lala (clams). You have the option to choose between spicy dry or soup-based versions, followed by your preferred type of noodles.
My wife opted for the Seafood Paofan, which featured prawns and lala served with rice soaked in broth. We also decided to share a serving of their signature Ngoh Hiang on the side.
Both the prawn noodle soup and paofan were served in claypots, arriving at our table bubbling hot. The soup continued to boil within the pot as it was placed in front of us, adding to the anticipation. I must say this was hands down one of the best prawn soups I’ve ever had. The broth was incredibly rich and packed with umami, and the prawns were fresh and succulent. The paofan, made with the same flavourful broth, was equally impressive and comforting.
The Ngoh Hiang was a pleasant surprise because it was so crispy, not greasy, and paired wonderfully with their prawn crackers, which were light and delightfully crunchy. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
In short, this spot truly lives up to the hype. If you're a fan of prawn-based dishes, it's definitely worth a visit.
Just be prepared for a short wait because it's popular for a reason.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary tonight at Meadesmoore, having heard great things about their steaks, and we weren’t disappointed. Located on the second level, the restaurant has a lovely ambiance, with soothing music creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
The staff were exceptionally attentive from the moment we arrived. I had made reservations in advance, and the restaurant manager recognized me immediately upon mentioning my name. He graciously escorted us to a cozy corner table, just as I had requested.
For starters, we opted for the Chicharones, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. They were incredibly crispy and light, with no greasiness, and paired perfectly with the tangy pickle and chili sauce.
Of course, we came for the steak, and after the manager’s recommendation, I chose the Grass-fed Ribeye, while my wife went for the Wagyu Strip Loin. Both steaks were flawlessly charred over charcoal, delivering a perfect balance of tenderness, juiciness, and rich flavor. Chef Victor made a special effort to visit our table despite his busy kitchen, ensuring we were enjoying our meal.
We wrapped up the evening with the Pavlova Flotante for dessert—a delightful mix of fresh fruits, sorbet, and whipped cream, with the perfect touch of sweetness to finish the meal on a high note.
Our experience at Meadesmoore was nothing short of wonderful, and we look forward to returning soon to explore more of their signature dishes.
My daughter decided to celebrate an early Father's Day with me, and she took me to Hopscotch at Capitol Arcade, a charming restaurant offering a variety of Western dishes.
To mark this special occasion, we decided to try some of their signature cocktails. I opted for the “A Decade in Time,” which was served in an elegant hourglass glass, beautifully paired with an infinity mirror display showcasing light paintings of memorable moments. My daughter chose the “Wish Upon a Lantern,” inspired by the traditional Chinese sky lantern. The cocktail came with a paper lantern for us to write our wishes on before the staff set it on fire in front of us, revealing the drink inside. It was an incredibly unique and memorable presentation that added a special touch to our celebration.
We also ordered a selection of appetizers, including mushroom and lobster bisque soup, which was rich and flavorful, accompanied by crab cakes served with fried mautou and a spicy chili crab sauce. The sambal grilled octopus confit was another highlight, bursting with flavor.
For the main course, my daughter had the duck confit with foie gras, which was expertly prepared, the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. I went for the signature black garlic ribeye steak which was served with bone marrow butter. The steak was juicy and tender and I savored every bite.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the staff were exceptional attentive and thoughtful, making us feel pampered from the moment we walked in until the end of our meal.
Hopscotch is a fantastic spot to create lasting memories with its unique cocktails and great food. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a special dining occasion.
I enjoyed an unforgettable lunch at Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant, savoring their signature Turtle Soup and Ginseng Black Chicken Soup. Both broths were rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, highlighting the natural sweetness of the meats. The turtle meat was especially tender with a prized gelatinous texture, while the black chicken was equally flavorful.
I also highly recommend their side dishes and I have ordered the Jade Tofu and Homemade Prawn Roll which was served piping hot with fresh ingredients and outstanding textures. A complimentary ice cream for dine-in customers was a thoughtful bonus and the refreshing drinks helped beat the afternoon heat.
Service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive which enhancing the overall experience. If you're looking for traditional, soul-warming herbal soups prepared with care and authenticity, this is the place to visit.
