This place is famous for their Zi Char dishes, and we went for their signature dishes:

Hotplate Beancurd ($10)
Salted Egg Pork Ribs Rice ($6)
101 Mee Tai Bak Soup ($5)

We were somewhat let down by the dishes, which we found to be average compared to your usual Zi Char joints. My dad’s review: comme ci comme ca.

Here’s a rundown of our dishes:
- Hotplate beancurd: beancurd was cooked well, but the sauce wasn’t very flavourful, and the prawns were the frozen type which were defrosted
- Salted egg pork ribs rice: generous portions of pork, which are tender and fragrant (a waft of curry leaves), given the price
- Mee tai bak soup: an abundance of mee tai bak but sorely lacking ingredients (only bits of minced pork, mushroom, salted fish & prawns), with a pretty average broth

One of my favourite yong tau foo places because of their fresh ingredients and broth!

Got my yong tau foo with dry kuay teow - just look at that broth!

Ingredients are $0.69-0.80 a piece, so this dish comes up to $5.

P.S. There’s usually a long line here so try to get there before the crowd comes swarming ;)

If you like your waffles crispy on the outside, but oh so soft and fluffy on the inside - this place hits the spot.

It’s all about sugar here - so the waffles are a tad bit on the sweet side. We loved their playing with chocolate ‘soil’ which added great texture to the dish as well. We opted for their speculoos ice cream which has a gumier texture than I would prefer - my sister loved it though.

This place has a great ambience if you’d like to hang out for longer, and a very instagrammable wall with fairy lights ;)

Durian ice cream was flavourful, but the charcoal waffles were disappointingly dry and flat. Heard that the plain waffles are much fluffier and better tasting though!

Back to this place for the second time and got their Black Tea Rock Salt Macchiato with Lustrous Black Sesame Pearls ($3.90)!

Still a hidden gem (or shall I say pearl) for their handmade pearls ;) Love the black sesame pearls way more than the honey white pearls. The macchiato’s a bit sweet for my liking but would come here just for the pearls!

Insiders’ scoop: They hand make their pearls daily in the morning til noon, and the second time around 4-5pm.

My friends and I found this small little haven on a rainy Sunday morning. We heard that this dish is a crowd favourite and it did not disappoint for its price :) The premium blue swimmer crab claw meat was tender and juicy - and the best part is that they didn’t skimp on its portion. A refreshing change to the typical crab meat pastas you’d find at other places. Sauce wise, it was so-so, and could maybe do with a bit more spice and tomato base?

P.S. They are on the Entertainer App as well (so you can get a 1 for 1 deal here)!

A sweet take on matcha latte with a double dose of matcha! The drink comes with an additional scoop of matcha ice cream which makes it a lil too sweet for my liking, but the matcha by itself packs a pinch!
