Roasted Pistachio Residing in my “to try” list for the longest time, how blessed I was when the family was gifted a pint during this CB period. Have no qualms about Dopa Dopa being one of the better ice cream creamery around in SG after trying their noteworthy Roasted Pistachio flavour. You get grounded bits of the premium nut and a very pronounced roasted taste; my pistachio ice cream loving Dad was nodding in approval.

Is This What Happiness Tastes Like? 🍦 Take a spoonful of happiness, a dollop of joy. That’s what ice cream tastes like. Pure sweet bliss. Dopa Dopa Creamery is named after dopamine, which is known as the chemical hormone that gives us pleasure. Their ice cream is unique and different from other ice cream parlours in Singapore as it’s one of the few I’ve seen (apart from Venchi) that stores their ice cream in metal containers, which are known as pozzeti that help the ice cream stay fresh. That’s how you spot real good gelato in Italy, and I have to say, the sweet treats at Dopa Dopa are the closest I’ve had in Singapore to authentic Italian gelato 🍨 Their ice cream is a tad pricey though, at $4 for a single flavour and an additional $0.70 for premium flavours like Pistachio (which is what I had), or other popular flavours like Hojicha and Green Tea Toasted Rice. Still, the ice cream was deliciously smooth and creamy, and tasted like pure pistachio butter. It’s a subtle light brown colour and not bright lurid green, which is how you know that Dopa Dopa is the REAL DEAL, making their ice cream with natural ingredients and no artificial colouring 💚 🍦I make fun bite-sized food reviews on YouTube! nagoya style + mazesoba w soft boiled egg don't think this is anything special - nagoya style tastes like japanese ba chor mee (i prefer the actual bcm to this haha) i think the mazesoba is nicer than the nagoya style but both were too jelat for me (only finished half the bowl!) it may just not be my cup of tea

Now This Dry Style Ramen Can Be Delivered to Your Home Thanks to @dphuacs (with the link-up from @engtingting), I received a delivery from @kajikensquare2 for my family lunch. It’s probably been more than a year since I had Mazesoba, so I was looking forward to having the dry-style ramen again. What’s the most important step to enjoying this dish is a very thorough toss. And I mean VERY THOROUGH. You should aim to spend at least 30 seconds mixing everything up (if you ordered yours with toppings, do move them to a plate first). Investing this half a minute of your day ensures the strands of ramen are evenly coated in the onsen egg, minced meat sauce, spring onion and strips of crisp seaweed. Otherwise, you will find it clumpy and dry in parts. Pro Tip: You can request for the sauce to be packed separately if you want to pour it in just before mixing which I think is actually the best thing to do. And if you like more heat and acidity in your Mazesoba, don’t be afraid to ask for extra chilli oil and vinegar. David also sent me something that I had never tried before - the Mazesoba with Cod Roe and Mayonnaise ($15.80). I found myself also enjoying this ramen for its lusciously creamy and very savoury-umami sauce. As for ramen texture, @kajikensquare2 cooks theirs al dente for a pleasing QQ chew. You can tap on the link in their bio to order their curbside delivery. By the way, delivery for the FIRST 10 ORDERS EVERYDAY that hits $30 and above is FREE, regardless of distance. But if you live within 10km of their restaurant situated in Novena Square 2 and your order meets the minimum bill amount, you don’t have to pay for delivery.

Unique Cake Flavours Tried the yuzu raspberry & le’ goma (black sesame) cake slices. Both flavours were pleasantly delicious!! Even if you’re not a black sesame lover, chances are you’ll still love the taste of their black sesame cake cause it’s really light and not too rich😋

Konnichiwa Hojicha @dear.nesuto’s Yuzu Raspberry used to be my all-time favourite, until I had Konnichiwa Hojicha. With the distinct layers of mildly sweet hojicha ganache/ light hojicha chantilly/ soft hojicha soufflé chiffon sponge and the rich roasty fragrance; overall it wasn’t too sweet and the cream was so light, I didn’t feel bad at all about it. We finished this up preeetty fast. This roasty creamy goodness is hands down, my favourite cake in awhile. Do note that this seasonal cake is only available for online orders (with free delivery).

Le Goma ($9.90), Le Mmm ($9). This visit was made before the circuit breaker period. 1-for-1 came & drink set with #burpplebeyond! With a group of friends, we decided to have their 2 of their signature cakes. First, the Le Goma, which is akin to a cake version of black sesame paste. Black sesame lovers please don’t miss this! From the layers of moist black sesame sponge cake, nestled with handcooked roasted black sesame cream, finally topped with some crunchy sesame strusel. An extremely nutty cake. I personally like it with lesser cream on top. Le’ Mmm is a paradise for dark chocolate lovers like me. A decadent chocolate cake, made of buttermilk chocolate sponge with premium Valrhona Guanaja 70% whipped ganache layered between, while coated with rich Valrhona Gunaja 70% ganache. Literally made me go mmmmm in satisfaction. You can still preorder their cakes and collect them during this circuit breaker period. Check out https://nesuto.oddle.me/en_SG/ for more details.

So good! Fat Belly has impeccable service and a stylish, intimate setting. We ate our food at the bar, an appropriate distance away from each other for the purposes of social distancing. The food came quickly and was DELICIOUS. Our sides came first. The creamed kale was my partner’s favourite and mine was the pomme puree. The pomme puree in particular was a smooth, buttery, perfect side for the tender, juicy and flavourful steaks (we had the Deckle and Denver) that was our main course. The cheesecake we had for dessert was also impeccable. It melted in the mouth and had the perfect touch of sweetness. I absolutely would love to come here again.

Delicious Food! The steaks we had here were excellent. The cuts were of great quality (I personally preferred the tenderness of the Deckle) and they were cooked to textbook perfection. We wanted to try something different, so we opted for the Creamed Kale and Pomme Puree instead of the Truffle Fries. Both were great but I enjoyed the kale more because it nicely soaked up the sauce while still retaining its crunchiness. The burnt cheesecake we shared for dessert was also delicious, and we felt the berries and honey were a nice touch to compliment the rich creaminess of the cake. All in all, a great meal. Highly recommended.

So Hot It Made Me Cry My go to fried chicken whenever we’re in town! Really love the spices of the chicken and their cheese fries! But their Hot is really hot so don’t be fooled by the colour of their chicken.

Definitely among my favourite milkshakes in Singapore right now. I certainly don’t write about it enough, but I am a huuuuge sucker for milkshakes. Like I would skip 2 meals to down a large malted milkshake (extra malt please) kinda sucker. Before this CB I had what I would consider to be among the best milkshakes in Singapore, at possibly the most unexpected place: Chix Hot Chicken. I expected good, but this was mindblowingly delish. I’d say it comes close to Five Guys if they offer more flavours. This Chix Milo Shake was so smooth, creamy, and thick, it’s practically a thick shake. I did find the milo flavour a little lacking (it’s a very light chocolatey flavour instead of the malty drink), but I was so happy with the texture this didn’t really matter.

Amazing cheese fries: really basic, but they’ve got it all right. The thing about greasy fast food, is that most of the times no one gives a crap about making the components from scratch. It’s more about finding the right supplier, frying everything then dishing it up; not a whole lot of originality there. Doesn’t mean it ain’t good, just that it’s a lot harder to stand out. But the fact is not every supplier offers the same kinda fries, and obviously not all cheese sauces are equal. I, for one, am not a fan of CHIPPY’s nacho cheese, nor all cinema nacho cheese sauces that has too much of a commercial kinda flavour and a strong underlying sweetness. But I do fancy myself some KFC cheese fries. And as far as cheese fries go, I gotta say that Chix Hot Chicken does a CRAZY mean one. Cheese sauce is GREAT, not overly ‘fake’ if you get what I mean, and is generously ladled over a bed of super tasty and fluffy fries. They’re REALLY fluffy, more thick than your average ones, and really well-seasoned — so so important. “Yeah sure but these are just fries,” you say. Never underestimate the role of fries in a fast food meal mate. Anyhoo, Chix Hot Chicken’s FINALLY getting takeaways and deliveries done! So you guys know where to go if em fast food cravings hit 😘

Best For Breakfast Or Light Dinner Ordered Eggs Royale ($23) and Crispy Fish Fillet Tacos ($23). The eggs royale was served with smoked salmon and poached eggs on the top of muffin, dressed with the mayo. I really like the smoked salmon and didn't expect the combination of poached eggs and smoked salmon would be that great. (Strongly recommend) However, the crispy fish fillet tacos was special but the taste only so so. Believe me, it won't be your repeating order in next visit. Taste: 4.5/5 (Eggs royale) & 3/5 (Tacos) Service: 4/5 Environment: 3.5/5 Price: Kinda expensive even with Burpple 1-for-1 (Because it located in CBD area)

Egg White Scramble With Chicken & Avocado ($23). 1-for-1 with #burpplebeyond! Feels like the healthy kind of food that you will want to have after a good workout session. Grilled chicken breast was a little dry, served with sliced avocado on sourdough toast. On the side, egg white scramble, sprinkled with some paprika seasoning, served along a side of spinach salad. Overall a bland tasting breakfast, especially without a creamy egg yolk. Slightly pricey but reasonable thanks to #burpplebeyond!
