Forever falling prey to marketing gimmicks 😅😋 Just couldn’t resist the novelty...
I love spicy food and this is my all-time favourite (and so understated) local chilli sauce brand - TAHO. Their Sambal Blachan and Lemon Chilli Sauce (currently out of stock) are the best!! 😍😍😍
This was the first time we came
across Pork Belly Soup (猪肚汤) at a buffet! Just a little bit too salty, otherwise pretty shiok with all that peppery goodness! 😍 Available at the Penang Buffet at Princess Terrace Cafe - Copthorne King’s Hotel.
A special treat - sumptuous, weeknight Penang buffet dinner at Princess Terrace Cafe at Copthorne King’s Hotel. It’s been a long while since we were last here, wow this place was packed even on a Thursday night. These little kueh-kueh were too cute, teeny little pieces, perfect with Teh Tarik (couldn’t resist)! And this was the first time we found peppery pork belly soup at a buffet! 😋
Wasn’t sure if I’d eventually make it but guess I’d be ashamed to call myself a #tokidokifangirl if I’d miss this right here in Singapore!! 😉 Small place, pricey menu, but lovely decor all around. The chicken nuggets wrapped in beancurd skin weren’t too bad at all, and I had to order the salted caramel popcorn milkshake just so I’d get to keep the #donutella drink float! 😍😍😍 The Kumoya x Tokidoki Pop-Up Cafe will end on 30 June, swing by before it switches to “Mr. Men & Little Miss” theme next month!
🥗 With seasoned beef slices, lotus roots crisps, and a runny onsen egg on top🥚🍳
满汉全席: Early Fathers’ Day celebration with the family today - made a reservation to try this Tibetan all-vegetarian restaurant at Tanjong Pagar (opened in March 2018) 😊 I would recommended this, although be prepared to pay quite a hefty bill. Lovely ambience, serene environment and top-notch service, matched with clean, healthy ingredients, free of mock meats, and quality, tasty soup base for the hotpot (choose from hot & spicy, mushroom, white pea, and tomato - yumms!!). Thanks Alvin, for your hospitality!
Another Beo Crescent snack to get when you’re tabao-ing the Curry Rice in the neighborhood 😉 Look around, don’t ignore your surroundings. This is from the same kopitiam with the no-name Curry Rice stall - the lady selling the fresh 面煎粿 Mee Jiam Kueh. S$1.30 for a crunchy crepe snack coated (on the inside) with chopped peanuts and coarse sugar. Nothing too fancy - don’t come all the way just for this - but oddly satisfying. Goes great with a packet of local kopi/teh after your main meal 😋
Next time you get in queue for the Beo Crescent Curry Rice, check out the pastries from Happy Oven bakery next door too. I’m not always impressed with all the old-school bakes they have but these Ondeh Ondeh sponge cakes are soooo melt-in-your-mouth soft and satisfying!! No wonder the store lady insisted that I must have one slice right away while it’s fresh and fluffy! 😍😍😍 S$1.00 a small slice, and just the perfect level of sweetness from the gula melaka coconut flakes. Yumms! I love my neighborhood.
😛 Teh Tarik in Malaysia just tastes different, I don’t know why, it just does 😍
Happiness is getting to try interesting dishes when travelling abroad. Everyone’s curious about the “Croissant Crab Spaghetti” at Melur & Thyme but no one wanted to order it... so I did! OMG, carbs super overload!! 😆😆😆 Yummy nonetheless.
Malaysian Duck Egg Fried Kuey Teow at Lot 10 Hutong food court 😋😋😋 Yummy tummy!!
