Har Cheong Kai Burger from Dual Cafe! Was quite an unsatisfactory meal to be honest. The fries and bun were cold. The bun was greasy. The only good part was the fried chicken, which was warm and juicy. It would have been more special with a slice of cheese. I think they had to fry the chicken properly, and so the fries and bun became cold while waiting. Despite all that, the service was good and the ambience was nice. Take note that if you're using Burpple Beyond or Entertainer, there's a very limited selection to choose from: 2 vegetarian pastas, this burger or an Asian curry (weekends only). Price: $15 #halfeatenblog #dualcafe #chicken #burger #burpple

Unagi, Eggs And Toast ($16) A dish that was sadly disappointing ☹️ The toast was the only part that was okay, the other components needed much more improvement. Scrambled eggs didn't have the desirable creamy and fluffy texture, and despite the sprinkles of sesame seed, were rather tasteless and bland. The unagi on the other hand, was too sweet (too much sauce perhaps) and had a rather weird fishy taste😅 Would suggest sticking to their other mains, like the har cheong gai burger

Seafood Roll Ordered seafood roll (1/2 crab 1/2 lobster)with two flavours, Maine-style and SG Chilli Crab. Maine-style felt a little bland, did not have a very strong taste, however, there were decent chunks of lobster, a good mix of both crab and lobster. Chilli crab flavour was good, but lacked the lobster bits, only had one small piece of lobster. The bun was super buttery and crispy on the sides yet soft, super good. Truffle-Parm-Garlic fries was decent, strong flavour but wasnt hot nor crispy, definitely not worth $9. Overall worth it, the bun made up all the faults

Fresh 🦞 Snack Love it for its quality and sweetness of the seafood! The shop was pretty empty and i really encourage more people to go because the food is really worth it. Worth the price with the quality ingredient and definitely better than 'chunky lobster' which serves frozen lobsters

Worth it with Burpple Beyond, otherwise go elsewhere for your lobster roll fix I’m struggling with this cause with the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 deal this seafood roll’s definitely among the cheapest around; yet I can’t say it’s the most satisfying, or that I’d ever be willing to pay the full non-discounted price. Starting on a positive note, their Boston rolls are pretty fluffy and well-toasted so that’s a big hurrah, however I have to say they aren’t buttered well enough. If they look fabulously golden here...I’m sorry it’s just my photo edits. The rolls were also exceedingly thick, which means I’m really getting more bread than seafood in each bite — not the most ideal, but acceptable for its price point. As for the seafood: I’m glad there were actually discernible lobster claws in there, albeit small ones and pretty fresh as well, though the mushy shredded crab left much to be desired. What was most disappointing was the sauce. I picked the Maine sauce for this, which should remind you of the fresh tasting citrusy, mayo-y, light kinda dressing that really highlights the produce. Idk if they wrote “sauté” on the menu as a mistake, but it did seem that they cooked the seafood with the sauce, which resulted in a really heavy tasting filling and tough lobster meat. At $23 ie $11.50 with the 1-for-1 it was ok, cheap and yes fresh; but I’d never pay the full price for it.

This Place Hits The Sweet Spot For Steak At A Good Value Price Point. H O S T E D Inspired by “The Flat Iron’ in London”, @TheFeatherBlade is an “alternative steakhouse” launched in Singapore earlier in May that is very shrewd about their offering and who they are targeting. Essentially they want to be top-of-mind when people think about where to go for #propersteaks at pocket-friendly prices. This explains their concise menu which is focused on a 200gm piece of steak priced very attractively at $21. Naturally at this price, the Australian beef is not a prime cut but the meat which comes from the shoulder area, is lean and flavourful. And because they pay close attention to how it is cooked, results in a decent level of juicy tenderness. The other way to enjoy the steak it is to order their off-the-menu Burger. Also priced at $21, the beef is minced and formed into a patty that is grilled, then placed between super-soft brioche buns and dressed in a truckload of house-made bearnaise sauce plus fried onions. I enjoyed this the most from all that I tried at the hosted lunch. As for the side dishes, there are four, priced at $7 each. They are a Caesar Salad (it has a whole crispy nacho chip-coated soft-yolk egg!), sautéed shimeji, shiitake and button mushrooms, hand-smashed potatoes deepfried in beef fat and spinach in parmigiano-reggiano cream with a pinch of nutmeg. If you like a sauce with your steak, there are four as well to pick from: Szechuan peppercorn (I liked this a lot), bearnaise, horseradish cream and red wine jus ($2). The newly-launched Gyudon is very good value for money at $14. Besides the 100gms of sliced steak, you also get very tastily-seasoned Japanese rice, an onsen egg, soft-cooked onions, garlic chips and pickles. And if you are a fan of foie gras or Hokkaido scallops, there is the option to add them on for another $11 per item. Only one dessert, an ice-cream sundae, is listed in the menu but it did a great job in satisfying. I found plenty of happiness in the Madagascan vanilla ice-cream with Valhorna dark hazelnut chocolate sauce, salted caramel and crunchy flakes of feuilletine biscuit ($8). The Feather Blade also offers special cuts and have garnered quite a following for their “Picanha Thursdays” and “USDA Prime Sando Tuesdays”. Do follow their Instagram account for updates. Thanks Sheen for hosting us for the lunch.

The Steaks Are High Finally. I made my way down to The Feather Blade. Shopback GO may or may not have a part to play in this..... There was 10% cashback boost til a couple of days ago, I knew I had to visit! That promotion's done with, but their usual 5% cashback is still pretty bomb. Queued for 15 mins slightly past 8PM on a weekday; got a seat at the bar counter for myself. Not too shabby. Wasn't asked how I'd like my steak ($21++), but it was done medium rare, which is how I'd like it to begin with. Very pleased with the steak as much as the side of Mushrooms ($7++) that I ordered. If you're looking for #propersteaks, this is the place to be. Yes, it reminds me of Flat Iron in London, but so what? Give me a delicious steak & you'll make me very happy. 🥩 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 🍽 Shopback GO partner 💦 Water is not chargeable
