The chicken breast was surprisingly not astringent, while retaining the flavour of spices and herbs! I enjoyed the sweet acidity which perfectly complements the spicy heat too. ๐Ÿ‘ The slippery linguine was still coated with adequate sauce while the broccoli which has absorbed all the "essence" retained some crunch. ๐ŸคŒ
๐Ÿ
This has been my fail proof go-to order this since almost a decade ago. Nothing mind-blowing, but it sure wouldnโ€™t poke a hole in your wallet nor make you go dissatisfied.

The best thing which can be said would be their extra huge servings (even possible to be shared between two small eaters), yet it is comparably priced. With a solid spice compared to usual foodcourt fares, it didnโ€™t fail to include ample sweet and savoury onions which retained a pleasant crunch without its raw astringency. What was unconventional was how the purposeful inclusion of chicken skin in the meat, providing an additional depth. I think

The egg wasnโ€™t molten this time but it's still understandable since it's dabao-ed. I do wish the meat was more evenly marinated as some parts felt overly salted and peppery.

Definitely not lacklustre despite missing the A hidden and super underrated treasure in the west which undoubtedly deserves more attention!!! ๐ŸคŒ

Eat simi: Matcha Yuzu Croissant
Each how much: $2.40
Eat which store: Pullman Bakery
Eat where: Jurong East Library
Eat nice not: 4.8/5
๐Ÿ’
The yuzu cream encased inside the mildly crisp layers (even without heating?!!) was sweet and aromatic, like a perfect valentine's date. I especially enjoyed the bits of chewy peels and the matcha top which provided a bitter fragrant twist to neutralise the sweetness. The croissant is only slightly buttery but still quite apt since it wouldnโ€™t overpower the main highlights of the croissant.
๐Ÿ’
"More matcha please!" was the only desire I had for this!

Synonymous to He Zhong Carrot Cake would be their crisp aromatic skin from the generous servings of perfectly browned egg holding the entire dish together. I liked how it wasnโ€™t too greasy to taste, and also the liberal servings of preserved radish (่œ่„ฏ/cai po) characteristic to carrot cakes.
๐Ÿฅ•
Although I ordered "with chilli", I still felt it could still use some extra kick! ๐Ÿฆต

A >decent plate of chai tao kway which merits is easily justified by the long snaking queues during peak hours! ๐Ÿคฉ

Eat simi: Apple Crumble Danish
Each how much: $4.50
Eat which store: Bakery Brera
Eat where: #01-05, 8 Empress Rd, 260008
Eat nice not: 4.4/5
๐ŸŽ
With a slightly savoury dough and a maximum crisp when toasted, the danish is perfectly paired with its super fragrant apple filling which is surprisingly refreshing despite the sugar rush. I enjoyed how it's slightly tart to prevent it from being too surfeit, and also the bits of apple fibres which provides a nice crunchy texture. The raisins provided quite the extra burst of flavour while the peppered cinnamon elevated the danish's sweetness. ๐Ÿคซ
++ I think BB has the crispest croissants/danishes so far ๐Ÿคค
๐ŸŽ
The myriad of flavours pretty much offsets the butter fragrance.
๐ŸŽ
Bakery brera has managed to intricately balance the different profiles of the danish which best showcases its expertise in viennoiseries! ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿฆž Red Prawn Paella ($39.78)
Perfect for seafood lovers, be prepared for a powerful umami *smack* from the sea, right in your face when this beautiful dish is served. I personally preferred to mix the sauces together with the rice as the flavours become subtler yet delicately creamy and sweeter-tasting. Felt that the paella was slightly hard to bite at times though.

๐Ÿฅฆ Cauliflower ($21.06)
Unrelentlessly doused with manchego (sheep) cheese, it unleashed a buttery fragrance diffused in every bite. Absolutely loved the savoury charred part as it really elevated of all flavours.

๐Ÿฅ“ Spanish Suckling Pig Belly ($37.44)
The fruity and savoury crunch from the fruits were essential to neutralise the greasiness and gaminess, though the fats were quite fragrant. Not necessarily worth the price and pretty much a miss for me.

๐Ÿ‹ Amalfi Lemon ($17.55)
A good balance of sweet and sour, and a perfect crunch. One of the best sponge cake Iโ€™ve had although I found this slightly too sweet. Glad that the tang helped to offset it though!

๐Ÿซ’ Complimentary Dessert
A surprisingly enjoyable melody of bitterness, savouriness and sweetness. The melt-in-your-mouth chocolate was paired with a perfect biscotti crunch. Particularly enjoyed the alcoholic note.

Kimchi Jungol (Kimchi hotpot)($40.95): Packed with addictive and enjoyable kimchi tang. Obviously, no restrain was held on the kimchi serving. The diced meat was easy to bite through with a slight fatty chew. (MUST-HAVE!)

Samgyupsal (Grilled pork belly)($17.55): Beautifully grilled with crisp brown edges. Perfectly paired with the side BBQ sauce with explosive umami flavours. Missing some extra lettuce but a must-have. (MUST-HAVE!)

Nakji Dolsot (Octopus hotstone bibimbap)($15.21): It was surprisingly light on the palate despite its fragrance. Wouldnโ€™t mind an additional dash of seasoning for a boost of flavour though. The octopus was well cooked and easy to bite through.

Tteokkbokki (Spicy rice cakes)($9.36): It provided a sufficient chew and kick, but with an awkward rice-flour like aftertaste.

Side dishes: Most of it leaned towards the sweeter side and did a good job keeping our stomachs occupied while making our gut anticipate for more. Bonus points for free-flow service!

Operated by a Korean ahjumma, you canโ€™t say itโ€™s not authentic horh! Kinda hoping for a bigger serving of their meat in their dishes. Prices slightly steep for the wallet but itโ€™s market-priced for a Korean restaurant. Pretty good choice for a big-group outing though!

Oh mai gawd. Can we talk about the custard encased within the thin fluffy dough. It was so silky smooth with the classic bitterness of matcha without being overwhelmingly sweet! Perfect for siu dai people like me, but i still think the sweetness can get to you at times. Loved the extra aromatic taste with the touch of astringency of matcha.
๐Ÿž
The ratio is a bit senget at times but since both the bread and the filling are muacks ๐Ÿ˜š๐Ÿ’‹,

๐Ÿ“
McDonaldโ€™s seems to always do their pies right donโ€™t they? Surprisingly, this pie wasnโ€™t as artificial-tasting as hi-chew strawberry chewies!! There were also little fibres scattered around the gooey fillings and I pretty enjoyed the sweet acidity of the pie although it somehow tasted sweeter than their apple pies.
๐Ÿ“
This isnโ€™t my favourite pie from McDonaldโ€™s but it definitely does justice to strawberry fanatics!

Eat simi: Vanilla Cremรฉ + White Chocolate Nori
Each how much: $5 (Med Cup)
Eat which store: Tomโ€™s Palette
Eat where: 51 Middle Rd, Bugis

Ah yes, the nori. An iconic signature found in no other places. The white choc nori ice cream is a creative rendition to sweet-savoury ice creams. The fragrant nuts were coated with caramel-sweet white chocolate and had a very addictive bite to it. The umami and savouriness of the seaweed somehow pairs really well with the sweetness and keeps you going back for more despite being tad diabetes-inducing. ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ˜ฌ

And the vanilla! Extremely luscious, smooth, fragrant and most importantly, not crazily sweet! One of the richer-tasting vanilla ice creams out there without breaking the bank. Definitely legit w the specks of vanilla bean seeds too. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Tomโ€™s palette is undoubtedly a synonymous place for everyone, and thereโ€™s a good reason for that. ๐Ÿ‘€

With her unrelentless servings of matcha in each macarons, it deserves a well note of caution to both antagonists and enthusiasts on the matcha spectrum. To the former, it could be too legit to handle. To the latter like me, this could easily sweep your heart away. ๐Ÿ’š I extremely love the deep penetrating matcha astringency hidden in every bite of luscious pillow-like ganache. This alone has proven itself worthy for matcha lovers like me!! Also, these arenโ€™t your traditional extra diabetes-inducing sweet macarons. Rather, they have tapered the sugar to allow every element to shine through!!โœจ BBM has also ingeniously fused together out of the world flavours which you never thought would work out. ๐Ÿคฏ The strong flavours can become jelak easily. Paradoxically, it has propelled me to savour every element slowly to maximize my enjoyment towards the treats!

1๏ธโƒฃ Black sesame Matcha
Earthiness of black sesame blends really well with the umami of matcha. An unexpected match(a) made on earth!

2๏ธโƒฃ Matcha
The raw unadulterated aroma of matcha is very well carried, without being overly excessive. Balanced as Thanos would like it to be.

3๏ธโƒฃ Matcha sweet milk
Perhaps due to my ever-failing memory, i had the matcha and matcha sweet milk a day apart and they taste very similar. Thus no comments. ๐Ÿ˜ถ

4๏ธโƒฃ Chocolate
The extra sweetness of the chocolate is perfect balanced out by the deep bitterness of the matcha. With a tinge of milkiness, it is a macaron perfect for beginners! ๐Ÿ‘

5๏ธโƒฃ Espresso
Yuan yang with a twist. Most fragrant of all, with the fusion of the very things dividing humanity โ€” coffee and tea. Perhaps this THE antidote to mend our differences. ๐Ÿ˜›

6๏ธโƒฃ Yuzu
Sweet gentle tang and a chew of preserved yuzu which makes you craving for more.
