Pandora's Box So they've got these mini pancakes they call Pandora's Box for takeaway. According to the staff, these pancakes are cooked thru 100%, while the souffl茅 ones they serve at the restaurant are 80% cooked. We got the Classic ($4), which is a 2 piece pancake filled with chilled handmade fresh cream.

Souffl茅 Pancakes Grilled Apple with Homemade Caramel Pancakes $12.20 for a stack of 4. Light and eggy! The caramel on top of the stack hardened, so it was like hard candy. Really loved the grilled apples, wish there were more! The apples only topped the pancake stack, I had hoped there were apples between the layers as well

4-piece Grilled Apple Pancake with Homemade Caramel $12.90 for what is literally just a big pile of heaven. So good. 馃 Four warm, impossibly fluffy pancakes were stacked in a jiggly pile, drizzled with caramel and topped with apple, sliced almonds, whipped cream, ice cream and a few shakes of cinnamon. The pancakes were just barely cooked and oozy in the center, with a gorgeous airy texture. They weren't too eggy or sweet. Just perfect. Cutting the entire pile in half and watching the steam and the smell escape...heaven on a plate indeed. The caramel drizzle had hardened on the top of the pancake due to the ice cream, and was crunchy and sweet, providing lovely textural contrast. The apple slices were kind of miserable though. This was literally the best pancakes I've eaten so far in Singapore. Goodness gracious me. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of their delicious-looking menu. 9.5/10

Cubano (left) & Fried Chicken Sandwich (right) The Cubano is a ciabatta filled with pulled pork, ham, mozzarella and pickles. The bread was well toasted and I liked the cheesy pulled pork! The fried chicken sandwich鈥檚 buttermilk fried chicken was rather juicy and crunchy, and went well with the potato roll + garlic aioli. Portions are rather large here!

Reuben Pastrami ($24+) My regular go tos at Park Bench Deli are the fried chicken and patty melt but decided to try the Reuben Pastrami for a change. It鈥檚 basically a beef brisket pastrami sandwich with Russian coleslaw, gherkin (pickles), whole grain mustard and Swiss cheese. The beef pastrami is cured in brine for 14 days before being smoked and steamed. All of these are done in-house which I feel justified the higher price. Although they use roasted rye bread, I never felt that the sandwich was dry or hard which can be occasionally the case with rye. The beef brisket pastrami is soft and not too salty. Together with the melted Swiss cheese that鈥檚 firm, chewy and nutty, the flavours and texture just come together perfectly. Perhaps they should make an Impossible version of the pastrami. The other sandwiches are good and substantially cheaper than this. But still more expensive than what you鈥檇 pay at Amoy Food Centre. It鈥檚 one of those places I鈥檇 go if I want to treat myself to something delicious but not too heavy for lunch.
