Amazing original flavoured tiramisu in Momahero size [$7.50]. Truth to be told, it was a good dessert that wasn’t too sweet and stays very pleasant throughout. It was never too gelat eating the whole Mommahero cake. Their flavour selection does not stop there. They have an extensive selection of flavours - chocolate, strawberry, lemon lavender and even more. I ate it with cold brew coffee which was a really nice additional touch, complementing it with the cake. They do serve other food here and is not just a simple cake and coffee cafe. But, tiramisu is the thing they are most famous for. Last thing I want to talk about is the fact that their mascot is just too cute!! They have it all over the place and on their cutlery. Cat lovers will love it. All in all, it was a good experience in a nice cosy cafe. -Foodier ✌🏻

When people think of an omakase (leave it to the chef ) sushi experience, many may feel that it's very pricey or it won't be a filling meal. However, when it comes to Ryo sushi, it is just the opposite.

Having eaten there many times, I can confidently say that it is one of the most value for money satisfying sushi omakase restaurants in Singapore. With an experienced sushi chef/owner leading the way and the majority of their ingredients sourced from Japan, Ryo sushi boast only the highest quality sushi which is guaranteed to leave everyone thoroughly satisfied. Ryo sushi offers 3 different sets. A $38 15 course set during lunch, a $68 18 course toro(fatty tuna) set and lastly a $98 18 course uni(sea urchin) set.

If you're looking to make reservations, be sure to make them at least 2 weeks in advance as its insanely popular and there are only 9 counter seats in this restaurant. Swipe right for my highlights.
1. Medium fatty tuna with soya sauce foam
2. Golden eye snapper
3. Aburi salmon belly
4. Squid with sesame
5. Lean marinated tuna

When you go to 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Hawker Center, people usually talk about the Curry, the Yang Rou Tang or Thai food. But... Did you know that there’s this stall called Lai Heng that sells really amazing Hokkien Mee. In fact it is the only stall to my knowledge that sells Hokkien Mee in the entire market here. I ordered the $5 plate and it’s a very decent sized plate of noodles. They soak up the prawn broth’s taste and every mouthful of it is thick and rich. They sell it in $4/$5/$6 plates, each to his own liking of how much they want to order. But, one thing to note is no matter which size you order it in, the generous amount of sotong accompanied by the prawns will definitely make your money’s worth. This place will not disappoint you. While it’s not one of the more famous stalls here, it’s flavour will not lose to those that have a stronger reputation outside. If one day, you pass by 115 Bukit Merah View for lunch, please consider Lai Heng to be one of your options. Don’t let it’s lack of queue compared to the others deceive you into thinking it’s not as good as it really is!! -Foodier ✌🏻

Their fish is fresh, beer/sake options are wide and their service is top notch.
Their signature, The Kaisen Bara Don Set [$22.80] - salmon, ikura, minced tuna, avocado and tamogoyaki all condensed into one amazing bowl of goodness. Together with a side of chawamushi, miso soup and fruit, the meal is very complete. For this quality and for their quantity, I can assure you that you will not regret ordering this. It had been reported on their webpage to be one of the Top 15 Chirashi Don Sets in Singapore using premium fresh seafood airflown into Singapore 2-3 times a week. I personally enjoyed every single mouthful of their fresh sashimi with their bed of decadent Japanese short grain rice.

I usually go in the weekend afternoon, the place is almost never crowded at that timing. It is a laid back restaurant where I can really relax and have a good meal together with my friends and family.
Beyond good food, you will be glad to know that Sumiya has All Day Happy Hour, with Sapporo Draft Beer [$4.80++ for 330ml ; $42.80++ for 3.2L]. It is ALWAYS a good idea to order some beer after your meal, especially at this price. Where else in Suntec City can you get beer for less than $5? I personally feel that this is definitely a good deal that you shouldn’t miss out on.
If you’re in the area, you really should go to
Sumiya to have a bite. It is one of the best, if not the best Japanese Restaurant in Suntec City.

Tldr: Fresh Fish. Good ambience and service. Cheap beer. -Foodier ✌🏻

State cafe is a relatively new eatery tucked away in level 2 of the school of physics and mathematical science located in NTU.

It offers simple food done well at affordable prices.

This includes chicken chop with black pepper sauce and a side of fries[$6.50]. Whilst the chicken chop was tender and juicy, the fries were mediocre but overall still a satisfying meal.

Next was the creamy pasta with bacon[$7.50] which I felt had just the right amount of cream, not too rich, with a nice addition of savouriness coming from the bacon.

Tldr: If you're looking for a quick decent lunch with a cheap bar for drinks in the area, this is definitely a place you should check out. -foodie🖖🏼 #hiddencafes

Nakhon is easily one of the most recognisable Thai restaurants in Singapore. They sell unpretentious Thai food that is cheap and good.
Their Thai green milk tea [$3] is extremely fragrant and pleasant to drink. If you wish to have a milk tea there, do choose this over the red milk tea [$3] which is more common and can be found in many places elsewhere. Starting off, the Pad Thai [$10] was very nice, with the noodles having a good chew while maintaining flavour in every single bite. The many prawns in it were also well cooked like that of a zichar place. Following, Fish Maw Soup [$10] was thick and flavoursome, almost as if it’s Shark Fin Soup. But a much more ethical bowl for the sharks and for your wallet. It’s definitely worth a try.

Their Lemon Fried Chicken [$10] may need some more work though. It was a little bit drier than the last time when I ate at the Hougang Nakhon branch. But this is to be expected as different Nakhon branches tweak the recipes accordingly to suit the neighbourhood’s taste.
Digressing, perhaps if you’re not into spicy food, you could be more interested in visiting the Holland V branch as their food taste more mild. Perhaps it’s because there’s more foreigners there so as to suit their tastes?

Nevertheless, Nakhon never fails to disappoint. If one wants a good Thai fix, this is the place to go. Do note that they only take cash so do be careful to have enough cash on hand before going there.

Tldr: Nakhon good. Green > Red milk tea. Fish Maw is great. Lemon crispy chicken ok only. Bill is not harsh on wallet, and no GST. Cash only. -Foodier✌🏻
