👉Classic Tiramisu With Coffee Cream & Chocolate Crumble👈 Guess what? I’m voting for @aura.nationalgallery to be @chopesg Most Romantic Restaurant of the Year 2019! 。 Spanning across the top floor in @nationalgallerysingapore, Aura is a luxe rooftop sky lounge overlooking the spectacular skyline of Marina Bay, offering chic Italian cuisine. It’s the perfect space for holding parties, private events and even your most special occasions like weddings! 。 The 4-course wedding menu definitely did not disappoint my picky taste buds! I love how every dish was not only delectable, but also beautifully plated. The one that stood out most for me was their Strozzapreti Pasta with Crab, Prosecco & Salmon Caviar 😋 。 So how about you? Let’s Get This 🅱️read To the surprise of pretty much nobody, The Bread Shop does a really, REALLY good rendition of French toast ($10 nett). I mean, it’s The Bread Shop and French toast involves bread, so it’s really no surprise. It also helps when you’re a bakery at heart, and all your breads are freshly baked in house. A tremendously T H I C C traditional bread slice (imma go out on a limb and say it’s just ol’ white bread) is lightly coated in egg before it’s pan fried to golden gloriousness. It’s very mildly eggy, and you don’t really get much in the way of egg as you terrorise this toast. The real attractions here are those fresh berries & caramelised bananas. They are so supremely sweet and scintillatingly sumptuous, and when lavishly lathered with the golden syrup, it’s sweet, sweet nirvana. Tack on an extra $3 for a decent cup of cappuccino, and you’ve got a breakfast that’s inclined to make you rise an hour early just like daylight savings time.

All this + yogurt for $12!!! So I stay nearby, and my dad and I were meant to go to lola's for a late lunch. In view of the overwhelming queue we had to find an alternative, and stumbled upon this gem of a place just a stone's throw away. I got the Skinny (scrambled eggs and sautéed mushrooms on rye bread, served with arugula, yogurt with maple syrup and berries, and a fruit juice) while my dad got the lunch set at $12.90 which came with his main (a generous serving of fish and chips), garlic bread, soup of the day AND a drink. Was super impressed not just w the prices but also the quality of food, service and ambience!! No service charge nor gst either. So glad we decided to stop by today after AGES of just walking past without a second glance. Honestly I'd rather go here now than Lola's and will defo be back for more things on the menu - - do give this place a try if you're in the area!

A Berry Fruity Affair Until the clock hits 1 January, it’s still technically Christmas and you can’t change my mind. However, a Christmas fruitcake on Christmas Day itself is rather magical, and it’s even more so with a fruitcake as fabulous as The Bread Shop’s rendition. Upon first impressions, I found it far too spicy, as it was far too inundated with a plethora of spices (think cinnamon, cloves & mixed spice instead of chili). However, the cake scrambled to salvage its reputation for the second impression, and it managed to make an impressive impression the second time round. It’s a little gooey & charmingly chewy in the middle, much akin to sticky toffee pudding, & the notes of caramel within were delightfully delicious. It’s a pretty substantial bar of fruit cake, and it really puts the ‘fruit’ in fruit cake. Every bite was chock full of candied fruit, and every bite was unique & utterly unctuous. Armed with a dollop of whipped cream & thick vanilla ice cream to be utilised at your disposal on the side, it’s a shining example of a competently crafted Christmas cake.

This just makes me miss Melbourne:') For a good reason though. My Habitat Coffee experience has been hit-and-miss, but this time around this is so so good even after traveling such a distance! The pancake is still thick, dense yet fluffy at the same time. The generous sweet toppings and the sauce and cream are given in just nice proportions. This would be enough to last me till the end of these travel restriction I guess. For delivery during this pandemic period there is a minimum order of S$30 and do contact them beforehand to confirm the delivery slot availability. . Oh I did not take picture of its cold brew, aptly named Liquid Gold, but it is golden! There is slightly more coffee than milk (the combi that I like), not sweet, and not burnt either (as I got a super bitter coffee during my previous visit there). . In frame: Stuffed berries hotcake [$15]

Loved The Prawn Though It Was Too Oily The end bit of rice was partially swimming in oil, but flavour wise the 𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙣 (~$17) was SOLID. The evident garlic aroma interrupted the sweet prawns and honey, enhancing the depth of flavour of the rice. 🦐 Ig @goodfomood

Pretty Decent Chilli Crab Linguine If you’re a carbs on carbs kinda person, the 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙗 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙖 (~$17) is for you. Mantous AND linguine?? Yes please. The chilli crab sauce was more spicy tomato than chilli crab, which wasn’t my kinda thing, but I still really enjoyed this dish with the springy crab 🦀 Ig @goodfomood

sunday brunchie part I 😋 woke up a little earlier on sunday with my bf to get some jaffles at amber ember and decided to try them given the intriguing name (jaffles = pressed brioche buns toasted in cast iron). both the name and the taste were intriguing, we got the Nice To Meat You - it was nicely jam-packed with beef and pork and all and it was juicy, tasty and bursting with flavour till the last bite. definitely will come back for seconds!

Do you know the difference between a Jaffle and a Toastie? I guess a jaffle just has more Australian vibes in it🤣. Known for their specialty coffee, jaffles and dusty pink interiors, @amberembersg is a chic café located right in the middle of Serangoon and Kovan MRT stations. 。 👉Fowl Play - SGD15 roasted chicken thigh, ranch, mozzarella, pickled Japanese cucumber, parmigiano reggiano, salad with vinaigrette 👉Cheesus Loves You - SGD14 melted gruyere, emmental, mozzarella, caramelised onion, blue cheese, salad with vinaigrette 。 As a hardcore lover of cheese🧀, I took a liking to “Cheesus Loves You” immediately. Their winning combination of cheese was definitely worth a mention👍. But on the other hand, their “Fowl Play” jaffles was rather mediocre. 。 Check out their bio @amberembersg for pre-order and delivery🛵 link. For self pick-ups, you can enjoy a 20% off bill😄! John Lemon ($14) The buttermilk waffle was super crispy but I can’t exactly call it a waffle, it was almost like a softer version of a biscotti? It was not fluffy at all and pretty dry, so thank goodness for the ice cream which was weird bc it was cold with no vanilla bean flavour, but the combi was better than eating them separately. The thyme crumble and lemon curd w passion fruit purée were nice, but those were the only redeeming factors.

nagoya style + mazesoba w soft boiled egg don't think this is anything special - nagoya style tastes like japanese ba chor mee (i prefer the actual bcm to this haha) i think the mazesoba is nicer than the nagoya style but both were too jelat for me (only finished half the bowl!) it may just not be my cup of tea

Now This Dry Style Ramen Can Be Delivered to Your Home Thanks to @dphuacs (with the link-up from @engtingting), I received a delivery from @kajikensquare2 for my family lunch. It’s probably been more than a year since I had Mazesoba, so I was looking forward to having the dry-style ramen again. What’s the most important step to enjoying this dish is a very thorough toss. And I mean VERY THOROUGH. You should aim to spend at least 30 seconds mixing everything up (if you ordered yours with toppings, do move them to a plate first). Investing this half a minute of your day ensures the strands of ramen are evenly coated in the onsen egg, minced meat sauce, spring onion and strips of crisp seaweed. Otherwise, you will find it clumpy and dry in parts. Pro Tip: You can request for the sauce to be packed separately if you want to pour it in just before mixing which I think is actually the best thing to do. And if you like more heat and acidity in your Mazesoba, don’t be afraid to ask for extra chilli oil and vinegar. David also sent me something that I had never tried before - the Mazesoba with Cod Roe and Mayonnaise ($15.80). I found myself also enjoying this ramen for its lusciously creamy and very savoury-umami sauce. As for ramen texture, @kajikensquare2 cooks theirs al dente for a pleasing QQ chew. You can tap on the link in their bio to order their curbside delivery. By the way, delivery for the FIRST 10 ORDERS EVERYDAY that hits $30 and above is FREE, regardless of distance. But if you live within 10km of their restaurant situated in Novena Square 2 and your order meets the minimum bill amount, you don’t have to pay for delivery.
