Overall a delightful experience and food with prompt service. Had the 1-1 mains (only Sea Bass and Tiger Prawns available for that) but they were delectable. Personally looked forward to the pizza as I read positive remarks on that and was pleased with my Pizza Bacon and Jalapeño. Honestly, Burpple and Google reviews had my mother and I weary about our reservation. However, the service crew were understandably doing their best and were working with punctuality in mind. We were served by Malani who kindly called earlier in the evening to share that with kitchen closing at 9.30pm, we should be prompt for our 8.30pm booking. Arriving at 8.15pm and placing our orders straight away, our bread starters were served and the food all came pretty quickly. Their lunch courses and weekend deals look enticing so might consider that in future too along with the pasta.

Ordered a Big Breakfast, Salmon Benedict, Seafood Basket and shared (half) Truffle Fries as well as Double Chocolate Blackout Cake with ice cream (sooooo good). Came here for a girls’ birthday treat. Decent ambience but more than our usual fair share. Very full afterwards! Better to reserve in advance.

Babba doesn’t take reservations on weekends so be prepared to wait or pick an off peak hour. I reached at 1.30pm on a Saturday and while we were given a 30min waiting time, we were seated by 1.45pm. While on the pricier side, the food was pretty delicious. Most online reviews cover the Buratta Tartine and Crab Omelette but we went with our usual palettes and were still satisfied. We got the Truffle Mushroom Tagliatelle ($22), Cod Fish and Chips ($24) and Smashed Avocado Tartine ($17). For drinks, we had a Black ($4.50), Iced White ($5.50) and Matcha Latte with Oatmilk ($7; Oatside btw and you’re welcome 😉). The cozy and brightly lit space comfortably sits up to 40-pax, and the staff are swift and friendly. For their dinner menu, I might bring my family back to try although I would have to be prepared about price persuasion. I’ll be back but that’s a review for another day.

Personally frequent Lola’s about once a year in a 7-year period since I have first known them and they have continued to refine their menu and space. While I have had their bakes and brunch items, this time we finally had the dinner stuff. Overall, it was a flavourful spread as each dish was of a sizeable portion and enjoyable to eat along with the others. We had Tomato based Crab Pasta, Cream based Mushroom pastas, Chicken based burger and an impressive Battered Fish and Chips along with Honey Paprika Wings. Damage done for 4mains + 1 side is about $90 including service charge.

We ordered the Jumbo Prawn Dum Biryani, Curry Leaf Fish and Chips as well as the Tandoori Chicken Pizza. Very substantial portions that we shared amongst us 3 girls. Booked a table for 3 on a Dec afternoon at 1.30pm and the lunch crowd was just clearing out. Will come back again and try other stuff too!

On a weekday in Dec 2021, got to note the limited seating. Have had this Thai Milk Tea flavour for years but I think they’ve done the smart thing by cutting the toast into cubes before serving. Previously it was a struggle to slice up the bread with a plastic knife but it’s all good now. Super well drizzled with lotus biscuits and cream too. A definite must have!

First time trying out the nex outlet, reached before 6.30pm on weekday dinner to secure seats. During this season, its 50min dine in time but it was more than enough. Had the simple Karubi (Beef Short Plate) Set that comes with rice, kimchi and seaweed soup along with two sauces. Very balanced flavours (tangy and umami) to the sauce and glad for a soup that is not miso. Definitely coming back and getting the other sets! Companion had the Beef mix set and she even had seconds with a Karubi and Beef bits

Did a reverse by having dessert before lunch and pleasantly surprised to have seats available despite a crowded holiday weekday in the mall. Shared this chocolate number that was not too bitter nor sweet and paired nicely with the different textures of chewy brownie and crunchy nutty chocolate bark. Towards the end while biting into the cone, there was a surprise: cereal bits! We each had a cuppa as well balanced the whole dessert experience nicely with warm, cold and just sweet enough.

Ventured here on a weekday morning around 9am. Fast moving queue and found seats despite the place being 7/8 full. For the star player Fairfax: consistency and texture of the eggs is really wonderful, creamy and pillowy. Flavour wise, it was tasty but perhaps the savouriness was overpowered by the little hints of the spice and herbs. Important to try but not worth a long queue of hype. Did not want to walk on eggshells but please don’t throw eggs @ me thanks. 😅

Came here for coffee after lunch at International Plaza. Located just around the bend from Tanjong Pagar MRT Exit C, the place is reminiscent of Korean Cafe in the midst of autumn. High key romantic and really chill. Stayed for most of midday and definitely think it’ll be such a mood at night. Might revisit to check out the mains and desserts in future. Service staff were very hospitable with refilling our water. Girls and I loved it!

Returned again bringing a different group of friends. On a Dec weekday afternoon, it was filled with a few young families and groups of friends but we thankfully found seats. Kudos to the solo service staff bussing tables, serving food and settling the bill. Used the 1-1 Burpple “Risotto and Pasta” combo, got Pizza a la carte and a Tiramisu. Risotto Tartufo e Funghi was my star favourite, creamy and rich while the Tiger Prawn Aglio e Olio gave the spicy kick. Pizza Parma Burrata came last and was a pleasant balance of flavours between the previous savoury+spicy. Ending off with the sizeable Tiramisu was delightful and just nice for us four girls. Am definitely coming back (again!)

Ordered the Truffle Shuffle Shrooms ($8.90) which came with Pappardelle Ricce (Mushroom). Placed my order during lunch on a weekday and had 10 persons in front of me but the queue moved quickly. Takeaway bowl was separated into plastic with Pasta, Souvee Egg and bottom paper container with the sauce. Really flavourful sauce and texture of pasta was done well. Will return to try out other flavours!
