Braised Pork Rice/ Lu Rou Fan I loved their hearty and affordable Taiwanese fare and hope to see them back some day. Their braised pork rice (卤肉饭) and XL fried chicken are good! Braised Pork Rice/ Lu Rou Fan ($12++ - Lunch Bowl/ $15++ for braised pork ala carte; Pic 1). A generous slice of braised pork belly that’s served with some rice, sous vide egg and cai xin/ choy sum. It comes with white rice by default but you can add $0.50++ to top up to shiny rice (like I did. The great thing about the pork belly is that it’s got that balance between the melt in your mouth fat and tender meat. And being costed in the homemade soy sauce, it was irresistible that keeps you yearning for more. The shiny rice deserves a special mention for how simple ingredients like lard and garlic oil can amplify a simple bowl of starch.

To round it up, there’s some homemade pickled carrots and a sous vide egg.

Prawn Aglio Olio [$18++] Reasonable serving of prawns and tobiko. Like their handmade pasta as well. The aglio olio base was slightly spicy, but overall it was a tasty dish. Sad to hear that their pop-up store at Suntec has closed (yesterday), but looking forward to the day they find a new space!

Fusion Pasta #BurppleBeyond 1-1 Prawn Olio Olio $18 Spicy pork Belly $4 Corn & Crab $6 Paid another visit before their closure at the end of this month. Ordered the Prawn Olio Olio again and have to say even after half a year quality of this dish maintained. The sichuan chili oil was aromatic and went well with the tangy curly pasta. This time round we tried 2 sides. The Spicy pork Belly was well marinated and cucumber was crunchy, it was nice but no surprises. The Corn & Crab was crab meat on steam corn, quite a pleasant combination. Sweetness from the corn blends well with the seafood taste from the crab. Overall, a delightful meal at Pasta Supremo.

Chicken Rice Pasta Homemade fresh pasta with a touch of asian flavors. The colors from the pasta come from ingredients such as blue pea flower, beetroot, activated charcoal etc. What I had is their ‘Chicken Rice’ pasta cooked with chicken broth and accompanied with chicken rice condiments such as the chilli, minced ginger and slices of cucumber. Not forgetting the slices of thick cut hainanese chicken. It’s not the 1 for 1 replicate of chicken rice if that’s what you’re looking for, but it’s definitely a good rendition at much milder flavors.

Milkshake ($5) A tad pricey and the size a little small, but as i took a sip of the drink, the small size seemed rather reasonable because it was so gao i was taken aback by the intensity of the milk. First time giving their milkshake a try, but wow if you liked the milkiness of their softserve/gelato, you wouldn't want to miss this out too

Double Scoop ($7) I love their gelato! Has a really nice, creamy consistency, though they do melt quite fast. Not a fan of the cone though, its super airy and reminds me of the macdonalds kind of ice cream cone which i really abhore. Got the matcha and the double cheese. The matcha is quite alright, not too sweet though it wasn't as strong as i would've liked. The double cheese is really good though!

Hokkaido Soft Serve (Chocolate & Matcha) The soft serve was rich in flavour and extremely creamy, but the bear wafer added nothing as it was quite "lou feng".

Customise the spice level 🔥 by choosing from non-spicy, mild or regular! I made a right choice by going for Mild, which comes with a good spicy kick 🌶 but not overwhelming. 👌🏻 . Enjoyed the thin ramen that made it less heavy & starchy ✔, absorbing the soup broth well too! 💕 Topped with a slice of cha shu that was pretty tender 🐖, half a nicely-executed tamago 🍳, seaweed & chopped spring onion, this was quite an enjoyable bowl of ramen! 😋

The Moment Grey Milk Tea Here we are with another bubble tea brand coming from Taiwan, located at the side of China Square near to Telok Ayer MRT Station. This is one of their signature drink, since they carry their brand on the naming of the drink as well. With shades of grey in the drink, which they added bamboo charcoal and fresh milk. You could taste the hint of charcoal but not too strong.

Winter Melon Latte With Lychee Jelly This was a very refreshing drink with the winter melon being not too sweet and the sweetness coming from the chewy lychee jelly.

the moment of truth Quietly tucked at the side of a building outside TA MRT. The drinks concocted by this bbt are not the best, but passable. Without Burpple, I find it a little overpriced. Overall a great deal for the convenience and variety.

Hojicha Donut (KAI KAI - $3.00) (UP - $3.30) I didn't expected that it's not cream donut and just normal and basic roasted tea donut. But the roasted tea taste quite strong tbh and also slightly hard when reheat the donut.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Donut (KAI KAI - $1.99) UP: $3.30 Seasonal edition flavour for halloween. The taste was quite fusion and savoury especially peanut (nutty taste) and also chocolate (sweet sauce). Originally I want to order another regular flavour one but then didn't missed it out for seasonal edition.

Matcha White Chocolate Donut Decided to order Matcha White Chocolate Donut (UP: $3.30) (KAI KAI: $3.00) instead of Matcha Originals. As I did reserved flavour after buying KAI KAI voucher, it just sold out when I went there. I felt that it was really quite sweet due to white chocolate and not much bitter inside matcha. It got strong yeasty taste and chewy texture when I tried it out.

Cosy, Quiet Basement Bar Mains were okay and affordable with Burpple Beyond. They had interesting cocktails, and Honey Badger cocktail was good although it was on the pricier end ($22). Overall, a cosy small basement bar for a quiet evening.

One juicy steak I savoured every bite of this steak, still juicy and paired very well with the melted butter (although its slightly more than medium rare). It also comes with a generous portion of truffle fries, which scent is on the lighter side. The steak is memorable, though i would also wish for its fats to be more melt-in-your-mouth kind of tender. Most of the menu is western/indian/middle eastern fusion. ($28) came here on labour's day eve, hence didnt get to enjoy the 1-for-1. Nevertheless, we left with happy bellies!

Retro speakeasy bar By a twist of fate, we found ourselves here at this posh bar that feels intimate and spacious at the same time. We got our own booth and got some G&T to start the night (with a conclusion that maybe G&T is not for me). Vibes of this place makes for a chill night out. Cajun Chicken Bowl ($12.90) Chicken wasn’t too bad either but I prefer their salmon and unagi over this.

Mentaiko Salmon Bowl ($15.90) Found another fav shop on burrple 1-1 Salmon wasn’t over cooked and it retained its juice inside. Rice was healthy brown rice !! Only wish was if there were more of that sauce.
