A great place to hangout with friends or loved ones on a weekend. Music was not too loud and the tables were separated wide enough make conversation.
Reasonably priced with an extensive food and wine menu. Ordered ham & mushroom pizza ($21) and paired it with Barbera d'Alba 2017 ($48/bottle) with the help of @vivino. The pizza was a thin crust type and was not much to shout about. Maybe because we were already a bit full from the previous place.
The wine however, was exceptional. After letting it breath for about 20 mins, the hints of vanilla and cherry were more pronounced. Texture was velvety and smooth with a lengthy finish. If one wants to purchase the same wine, they do sell them at their retail shop at the same price.

Stumbled on this delicious roast meats stall at Golden Mile Hawker Centre while searching for Yaloh Herbal Duck Rice, which later we found out that it closed down. There was a constant queue and the meats were finishing, so we reckon it must be good.

Ordered the char siew, roasted pork rice (SGD5; they have a SGD4 option too)
The pork had a crunchy skin (we loved it) and tender, well salted meat which went well with the white rice and gravy.
The char siew was delicious too, just that the meat to fat ratio was not to my liking. I would prefer a more lean char siew and apparently we can request for a leaner cut (heard the person after me ordering it haha). The char on the meat however was perfect and what I like was the sauce was not too sweet.
Will not specifically travel all the way here for this, but if I was in the vicinity looking for food, this stall will be one of my options.
PS: The ah balling peanut soup stall on the left seems popular too, alas we were too full.

Nice place to chill along Bukit Timah Road, while watching the cars zoom by.
The texture of the lemon cream tart was not too crumbly, which is the way I like it and the lemon cream had a perfect balance of citrus and sugar ($7)
Was surprised too by the galette. Flavours of berries, peanut butter accompanied the crunchy crust. Would want to order it again the next time I am back ($5)
A cup of black coffee will be the perfect companion for both.
Will beback again, surely :)

This stall at Whampoa Hawker Centre sells one of the best mince meat noodle that I have tasted so far.
For $4, there is so much ingredients (mince meat, sliced meat, meatball, wanton)and the noodles are handmade, not like the type that you get from a typical mince meat noodle. The texture is a on the softer side but it is just nice for me.
Queue moves quite fast as there are 2 'stations' :)
Will surely come back again to try their other selections.

Tucked behind the Bishan CPF building is this hidden gem for ice cream.
We liked the smooth, milky texture of the ice cream and the fact that it is not too sweet.
Besides ice cream, they sell waffles and coffee too.
Will definitely be back if I am around the neighbourhood.

Wanted to try this for awhile now after hearing of raving reviews, so decided to try it out today.
Expected a long queue but surprisingly it wasn't. Ordered the claypot hokkien mee at $10 for 2 pax.
When the food came, I was first drawn to the deep fried pork belly and then the amount of other ingredients in the claypot. There was squid, prawns, clams, and meat mixed with the noodles in seafood broth.
The most important thing for me in hokkien mee is the broth. It needs to have the wok hei taste and prawn taste has to be distinct. Furthermore, it has to be thick, but not till like lor mee texture. Alas, this broth to me was bland and only after adding in the sambal only did it have some kick to it. I was kind of disappointed as I expected more flavour from the broth.
Would I come back again? Most probably not. Maybe only to try the other hokkien mee at the opposite market.

One of the most value for money combos at Opus. The steak was smokey, tender, juicy, melt in your mouth and paired with Los Vascos Cabernet Sauvignon, it was a perfect meal 😋
The lobster did not have the flaky texture as I experienced before when having lobster the last time. Shows the difference in choosing good quality food 😄
We got a free cheesecake as well.
Both of us left with a happy tummy

A good ambience to hangout, chill and catchup with friends over yakitori and beer. Come earlier though as the place is small and people tend to stay long to chat. Recommended are the freshwater baby crabs and the pork dinner set (5 of their top selections). The grilled meat had a smokey, flavourful taste which is a perfect pairing with the Asahi on tap. We had edamame on the house cos we had to move tables for them to accomodate a larger group 😄 all in all a satisfying experience for a Friday night

Used Burpple Beyond for the first time this weekend at Glasshouse 😁 the places offered are ones which I will consider going and they are adding more food places in gradually, so I think it is a bargain for the $9.90/mth. And you can cancel at any time too.
Anyway, tried the B Burger, which was recommended by a few reviews. Hits and misses, in my opinion for this place.
Hits
1. Staff were friendly and attentive
2. Ambience is good for a Friday chillout. Cannot blame them for the humid weather (the beer helped to cool down 🍻)
3. Steak frites beautifully done medium. Tender and meaty
4. A lot of fries!! 🤩😍

Misses
1. The B Burger bun was much bigger than the patty, and it was not toasted as well so was not fluffy and warm.
2. Burger patty not as juicy as expected. I would have preferred Wildfire or Omakase's version
3. The 'sambal' like sauce did not match the burger and patty. I would prefer a simple aioli or barbequeue sauce for my burger.

All in all, I would still come back again to try the other food as I feel that this place has potential 😉

Wifey whipped up a yummy brunch with the balance ingredients in the kitchen. Fluffy scrambled egg mixed with spicy chorizo, topped up with fresh basil and grated parmesan cheese. Accompanying it was brioche bread topped with a mix of cheddar and parmesan. 😋
