Beef Sukiyaki Don Located in a corner of Tanjong Pagar, this place can be abit difficult to find. But it is well worth the trip here! Limited seating is available so there may be a queue. The Beef Sukiyaki Don $14.90 comes in a set with side dish and soup. The chef cooks the dish right in front of you. Very yummy and filing!

US Prime Beef Sukiyaki Don Wanted to try this Keisuke concept since it opened, and so glad I finally managed to pop down! I love the concept, where you sit at a cosy counter and they cook the thinly sliced beef and assemble this delicious bowl in front of you. Also, the service is super friendly and impeccable, along with the spot-on decor and ambience. I opted for the cheaper of the two beef dons on the menu. ($14.90). The bowl consists of Koshihikari rice decorated with 110grams of beef, shimeiji mushroom, tofu, glass noodles, leeks and spring onions. The beef is done to a blushing medium rare. In addition, you get an onsen egg (with a beautiful bright orange yolk), miso soup, mini chawanmushi and access to free flow pickles and ginger. For the price it's such a steal. They also pour the Sukiyaki beef juices into a little sauce dish at the side so you can pour over your rice as you wish to flavor it. The beef is so tender, sweet and delicious, but not too fatty. Goes beautifully with the fluffy rice. The egg also was a stunner with that delicious creamy yolk. Would definitely drop by again, especially with its proximity to my gym. 😍

Usa Beef Don Tried the wagyu one before, its not worth, you will be better off with this (14.9) and an extra portion of beef (11) which is what i did. Double the meat, yet still cheaper than the wagyu.

Salted Chocolate Chip ($4.90) Vegan ice cream that isn’t too sweet, but is also rich in chocolate flavor! Kind Kones always has the best vegan ice cream, and this flavor was no exception.

Chocolate Donut With Tiramisu Ice Cream Dairy free ice cream made with minimal and super healthy ingredients with a vast selection of ice cream flavours and baked goods that rotate every month. If this isn't perfection, i don't know what is. I have been coming here every week on Weeknights ever since i found this place and i am never dissatisfied. Excellent service, friendly staff, delicious healthy baked treats. Some ice cream flavors have an overpowering taste of coconut milk due to the coconut milk. However, majority of the ice creams taste just like normal ice creams. The donut was soft, chocolately and gooey and the ice cream was creamy and delicious.

Sweet Potato Brownie Set ($11.50) One of the few vegan ice cream cafes in Singapore and glad to discover it taste as good as it's dairy counterpart! We ordered the brownie set which came with a sweet potato brownie, any scoop of ice cream (we picked cranberry snickledoodle) and 2 toppings (we chose toastes quinoa and chocolate granola). The brownie was so good. The chocolate glace above it was warm and thick and oh-so-comforting... And the brownie itself is soft yet slightly rich and mushy due to the sweet potatoes. Really love the texture and consistency. The ice cream was okay but I feel the flavors did not really stand out. But nonetheless, very happy that all these were dairy and lactose free! Will definitely come back again and again :)

Delicious Food! The steaks we had here were excellent. The cuts were of great quality (I personally preferred the tenderness of the Deckle) and they were cooked to textbook perfection. We wanted to try something different, so we opted for the Creamed Kale and Pomme Puree instead of the Truffle Fries. Both were great but I enjoyed the kale more because it nicely soaked up the sauce while still retaining its crunchiness. The burnt cheesecake we shared for dessert was also delicious, and we felt the berries and honey were a nice touch to compliment the rich creaminess of the cake. All in all, a great meal. Highly recommended.

Interesting Take On Steak Had a chance to try out Fat Belly at Serene Center. They focus on the not so common cuts of meat, so I wasn’t familiar with most of the menu. Had the 250 gram deckle and that plus the creamed kale was pretty damn good, more than filling for someone that came in hungry. Surprising to see a 52-seater place with about 30-40 people around on a Tuesday night, which is a good testament to the quality of their food. Had a good look at the kitchen because I was seated at a bar and chef runs a clean and efficient outfit, without much waiting time for food. It was a bit of a blast in the past to eat at that mall because I used to live in that hood 20 years ago and never would have thought they’d have a steakhouse at SC! It’s not crazy expensive either, steaks ranging from 22++ to 62++, and you can tack on an extra 17 for a side and dessert. I want to try their lunch menu next time I go, though, because wagyu beef cheek rendang also sounds like a real winner. Pretty curious about the pork collar main for dinner as well. Will definitely be back.

Great Food Great Place Visited Fat Belly and had the Deckle in Medium rare was really good and very well seasoned. Was definitely one of the best steaks I’ve had! Sides (we ordered the Truffle fries & creamed kale) that came with the food was of v generous amount. We ended our meal w the sticky date pudding. Overall we were v happy w the service, the portion of the food as well as the quality of the meat and how it was cooked - will definitely be back again! :)

Creamy Mushroom On Toasted Sourdough With Scrambled Eggs & Smoked Salmon Benny I’ve been pretty impressed with all their other branches - Atlas Coffeehouse, Apollo Coffee bar & Lunar Coffee Brewers. This was the only cafe I’ve yet to try and I was really excited bcoz I heard really good reviews of their food. We thoroughly enjoyed the shimeji mushrooms on toasted sourdough, and the scrambled eggs ($19) we added on the side was perfectly creamy! We also ordered another brunch staple, the Smoked Salmon Benny ($19), which was great too. Of course we couldn’t leave here without having their coffee (the coffee at their other branches are consistently good!). We got the Iced Hazelnut Latte with ice-cream ($8) and my only gripe was that it was a bit too sweet. Overall, fantastic food and drinks just like their other branches & I would definitely return again :-)

Crispy Brussel Sprouts [$12] Mandatory order. But sadly, this was a far cry from what I’d expected. Moisture of brussels are gone from all that frying resulting in flaky, limp and crisp edges.

Low & slow beef brisket - red wine braised beef brisket, organic 65 degree eggs, Greek yoghurt, basil pesto & garlic crumb served with brioche [$22] Expected the beef to be in cubes instead of shredded/pulled. Wish it was more tender, with some fats. Can’t help but feel confused with the Greek yoghurt and pesto, as it did not seem necessary. But ended up eating with scrambled eggs (green eggs!) 😅

March special - Crab Meat Scramble Croissants A good buttery croissant, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, is for me always a delightful indulgent treat. On first 3 bites, the chili oil and tomato jam gave it a pleasant “oh interesting”. Then it plateaued. While the ingredients were all plated nicely together, they felt separate. They didn’t integrate harmoniously, some texture and flavors overwhelmed the rest. Individually, the ingredients were nice but mellow. I kinda expected the flavor of the crab to be more prominent, the tomato jam stole the role though. Overall, it’s not a bad dish, just lacked an oomph. Or maybe it just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

stuffed 'n swell Being both dense AND thick ain't a problem when you're the Chocolate Stuffed ($23). These chocolate-stuffed pancakes adorned with cream cheese, oreo crumbs, berries, and vanilla bean ice cream will make anyone with a sweet tooth swoon. I didn't order this for myself, but I figured it was too fabulous (and filling) to not mention.

swim, swam, swum We're all familiar with the Spiced scrambled ($18) and Eggstraordinary eggs & snags ($24), the latter of which arrived with, uh, overcooked yolks, but there's been little talk about the Salmon, pistachio, rosti ($25). Every component of this pricey, pescatarian-friendly option was pretty much on point. What's not to like about pistachio-crusted salmon, cooked to perfection, perched atop a crisp and golden brown disc of potato rosti? Well, the watercress and rocket salad could've merely existed in all its stark rawness, if not for the uplifting citrus mint mayo. This is ideal if you want something that straddles the line in between "indulgent" and "healthy".
