seriously a hidden gem, the food here is really so good! headed over to use a burpple 1-1 and planned to order more food, but everything looked so tempting and we were spoilt for choice, ended up ordering 20 dishes in total oops (half of these were skewers tho but still)

if you’re heading over you HAVE to try:
shime saba!!!! *absolute star of the night* tastes identical to the one served at public izakaya which is like double the price?? never going there again for saba that i’ve found this place

wagyu beef cubes😋😋 quite pricey at $8.90 per stick but i feel its worth it! the kurobuta tontoro was also very well done

absolutely nothing bad to say about this place, service is also impeccable!! will definitely be coming back again soon😊

really good!!! all four of the dishes we ordered (salmon w rice, beef w rice, fried chicken w rice and grilled chicken salad) was really super nice! not a salad person usually but i could eat salad every week if it tasted like this😋 totally worth it with burpple defo recommend trying!!

they’re decent i guess but even with 1-1 i can’t say it’s worth it (honestly can’t imagine anyone paying the full price of like $8/tart lol)

they had barely any business (no one else went in during the 20min i was in the vicinity) yet they refused to allow me to use my burpple to claim the 1-1 unless my partner showed up?? ridiculous lmao totally won’t be patronizing them again, i’ve never had any burpple restaurant require 2nd pax to be there to use the deals

feel free to try them anyway though for 1-1, you’ll understand they’re overhyped🙃

true to the other reviews, the rosti was amazing! felt that the drinks we got (caramel latte and peppermint chocolate) weren’t that great but the food was superb! definitely will be back again for it soon😬

chaota pork belly was gooood!! however recommended to order 1 portion to share between 2 people otherwise it might become too jelak😬 we ordered carbonara and pork belly to share, the carbonara isn’t very flavorful but helps to offset the richness of the pork belly😋 beef cubes were good, but tbh felt the serving wasn’t worth the price point ($16 for about 10 cubes or so?)

service was impeccable though and servers were rly friendly!! would defo be back again for the pork belly hehe might even try the lemongrass one next time😋

visited during dinner and had 4 different dishes in total (pork chop, the chocolate pasta, duck confit pasta and beef katsu) but they were all very mediocre unfortunatelyđŸ„ș probably would not visit again for dinner, but according to past reviews their brunch menu is much better so would probably drop by again in future to try those?

HOWEVER the truffle fries we ordered to share was amazing and honestly the best item of the night by far - would actually come here just for the truffle fries in future!! as a truffle fries lover, i would say their truffle fries is actually on par (possibly better) than those offered by establishments known for truffle fries such as lola’s and ps cafe😬 definitely order this if you’re here!! (even tho there’s no 1-1 but it’s rly good)

tried the portobello mushroom with grilled bacon and it was alright but was a little let down due to the rave reviews by past burpplers (had higher expectations i guess) but all in all not bad! decent cafe food especially at the price point

am a truffle fries lover and will always order it if it’s offered on the menu at any establishment however the truffle fries not shown here were really quite bad unfortunately (could have been because we were the last order so maybe the fries weren’t fresh or fried wellđŸ„ș) - if anyone reading this is looking for good truffle fries, out of my recent burpple visits, try out south union park (they’re kinda out of the way tho)

but the service was great + really good place to study too because they didn’t chase people out who were studying (they weren’t very crowded) so definitely worth checking out if you’re around nlb!!

food was alright, laksa was above average but breakfast was quite normal, expected better given the price. however with 1-1 it’s quite alright. the drinks are expensive but the serving size is huge (lychee iced tea). would visit again for 1-1, but without burpple the price doesn’t match the quality

worth with 1-1!! location is easily accessible from bencoolen mrt as well🙂 onion rings portion is good for sharing, recommended to share between 3-4 people otherwise it might be a bit too oily! we ordered the standard cheeseburger and the carbonara and they were all pretty good! would definitely come again 💯

i’m sorry to have to leave this review but the food here is really awful. i’ve been to over 20+ burpple places and this is the first time i’m leaving a negative review. got the all day breakfast, the only edible pieces were the bacon strips and mushrooms. poached egg was THE WORST poached eggs i’ve ever had in my life, i don’t think they even seasoned the eggs at all, plus i think they just doused it in vinegar or something. bread was SUPER hard, and the sausage wasn’t good either. even with 1-1 i would never come back. only the coffee was good. service was alright as well. but the food just isn’t worth the price, i wouldn’t even pay $10 for it.

food was pretty good! would defo recommend the truffle fries, very legit for the price + good portion for sharing â˜ș mains were not bad (the rosti could be thinner and thus more crispy in the center + pasta needs more seasoning) but overall pretty good for the 1-1 deal! would come back to try the all day brunch the next time😊😊
