One of my favourite secret spots to spend time alone. It's opened by a Taiwanese couple & is hidden within a bookstore, but sadly they are closing this Sunday, 29th Nov. The warm & quaint vibes really reminded me of Taiwan—you don't feel lonely even when you're there alone. It's a pity & my friend loves this place when I brought him here too.

End of a chapter, but see you again.

Love the ambience & food! Lots of natural lighting & space as well.

I love all things taro & I enjoyed this a lot, albeit it's slightly pricey at $5.60 a cup. Sorry for the slightly dark photo, the lighting wasn't very good at where I was seated.

It wasn't too sweet (you can't choose the sugar level for this) and the taro pieces were very fragrant. Personally I also find it not too milky, which is nice for me!

Part of the 6 dishes + free dessert set meal we have ordered for 6 pax ($108 if I'm not wrong).

Generous portion, big and fresh prawns & delicious herbal soup.

Delicious and affordable henghua dishes!! Would totally recommend this place, but would be better if you make a reservation as it's really crowded. It's under one of those HDB blocks & has the entire 'coffeeshop' to itself.

Other dishes that I've tried include the lychee sweet & sour pork, fried squirrel fish with mango, herbal prawns, fried henghua beehoon etc.

Pleasantly surprised with all the dishes and my family thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there on a weekend! Enjoyed every dish ordered and used Burpple Beyond, which made it very worth it.

Enjoyed this very much compared to Dessert Cloud Nine Soufflé (which is miso soufflé & we thought it tasted quite confusing/weird haha).

Also ordered a Must-Try on its menu which is green tea peach (?) with cheese for $9.50 but was nothing special.

Worst experience eating an oily salad.. 🤮🤮🤮

Used Burpple Beyond to get 1-for-1 & it's only applicable to the Original size ($13.90).

1. We were supposed to get 2 bases each, but they only gave us lettuce for both bowls.

2. I ordered toppings such as grilled eggplant & tofu, but they were SOOO OILY esp the eggplant ugh felt like they were soaked in oil. I saw a layer of oil after i tried to finish my bowl (read: i felt like i need a detox after eating them ha ha ha eww). Their dressings were really oily & gross too.

3. Their pumpkin had a funky taste to it & tasted a little bit sour. Note that I bought & consumed during lunch hour, so i'm not sure why.

VERDICT: Will not be back again 👎🏽

3rd course: Strawberry meringue, vanilla yoghurt, basil sorbet

3rd course: Chocolate, pandan, coconut

Chef-owner shared with us that this was inspired by our very own local kaya toast that he had. The pandan was very fragrant and it complemented really well with the crumbled nitrogen chocolate and coconut ice-cream. My favourite of all courses!
