Whenever I'm here, I have a mandatory list of their skewered items that I rattle off to the waitress taking my order, even before my butt touches the chair. This pork bacon-wrapped potato is on that list. Because the slightly-charred, fatty bacon and the soft, mealy chunk of potato that it snuggles within, go oh-so-beautifully together. Especially when that tiny pat of butter on top lubes them up good and proper.
Known as the “House of Hot Pot”, Suki-ya offers unlimited, top-quality beef and pork in paper-thin slices, along with a good variety of fresh vegetables. Mix up your own tasty concoctions at the sauce bar! Expect to queue, the high quality meats are known to be pure value for money. Weekday dinners go for $23.90++, time to round up some friends! The Line has easily become most people's go-to buffet for a special occassion. With 16 kitchens banging out great dishes all round, it's hard to compete with the variety and quality here. The ambience is clean cut and comfortable, allowing you to feel posh and at home at the same time. Do not miss the Japanese and Dessert sections, those are the highlights for sure. Go for Saturday lunch at only $59++, or the International dinner buffet on Sundays at $72++.

Dining at Rocku is a lot of fun, with its upbeat, grungy ambience that's perfect for barbequeing some meat and downing a few beers with your friends. Certainly catering to meat-lovers, the menu features premium cuts such as Wagyu beef brisket, Australian sirloin and short ribs. There are also live bands playing from Wed to Sat! Deep-fried sticks of batter dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with dark chocolate dip. Delectably crispy on the outside, soft and gooey inside - I've yet to find a better rendition of this Spanish fave in Singapore.
My absolute favourite dish here has pork shoulder cooked in the oven for 10 hours, with home-pickled jalapeños, cheese, coleslaw and chipotle aioli between homemade buns. Can't quit raving about how splendid this is, from its flavour to its bite to the dishy sous chef (Manuel Maldonado) behind the counter. 😏
European-style roast pork with crispy crackling, melt-in-the-mouth fat and tender flesh, on a cushion of finely-mashed potatoes (50% butter, 50% a blend of three types of potatoes). Such heaven.
