This orh luak stall is just a stone’s throw away from my workplace but I’m amazed that none of my colleagues have tried it before! 🤔

This plate has the right balance of eggy omelette, crispy bits and soft, gooey starch with smaller briny oysters 🦪.

And dare I say it’s probably the best version I can find in the western part of SG 🇸🇬?
But I guess one thing I know for sure — I’m officially a fan. 🙂‍↔️

Found this no-frills deli at a quiet mall — Clementi Arcade along Sunset Way that serves an AWESOME beef pastrami sandwich 🥪!

We made our way to our much beloved Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre, in view that it is set to demolish in the second half of 2024. Thanks for the wonderful memories for the past 30 years! 🫶🏻

We ordered some satay from this popular stall ‘cause my mum is enamoured with its peanut sauce that comes with a huge dollop of pineapple 🍍 puree. The skewered meat has a nicely charred piece of fat in the middle and extra chew on the meat.

No branded hotpot or premium meat and seafood but we agree unanimously that nothing beats this comforting and back to basics steamboat.

What we like best is the fresh ingredients and simple, old-fashioned chicken broth and soy beans base that gets more flavourful as we add the ingredients in the soup. We skipped the set and ordered individual plates of ingredients including sliced fish, beef, fish dumplings, cockles and vegetables.

Sadly, they are no longer serving zi char dishes [yes! I miss the ‘pong pong’ prawn fritters] but there’s still the old school steamboat that we can enjoy and appreciate.

We decided to rush to Ghim Moh market & food centre to pig-out amid the scorching mid-day heat 🥵, before it closes for repair and redecoration from 1st March.

Zoom-in on my favourite food stalls including roast meat @ Sheng Ji Shao La 昇记烧腊, laksa @ 63 Laksa, braised duck @ Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck 全记, etc.

Spontaneously got this cutie-pie to end my meal. It’s petite in size with a tinge of lemon zest, topped with lemon frosted-icing, edible rose petals and crushed pistachio. 🫶🏻
