Meatsmith Cheeseburger This beautiful burger ($16) wasn't too big or fanciful, but that was all part of its charm. The double beef patties were cooked perfectly pink in the center. They were dripping with melted cheese, juice and grease in the best possible way. There was just a smear of burger sauce on the perfectly toasted bun, which wasn't soggy at all despite the cheese and juices. There were three pickles to add a slight injection of sourness in there. It was the perfect size to get a good portion of all the ingredients in a single mouthful. Each bite tasted like a well-composed symphony of flavors and textures. Definitely worth the price. In the world of oversized, rubbery monstrosities drenched/stuffed with cheese and other strange ingredients (mac n cheese burger, I'm glaring at you), its really nice on occasion to enjoy a good old fashioned cheeseburger done right. 8.5/10

200grams Beef Brisket Oh my goodness. This is the first time I have had traditionally barbecued brisket and I am totally blown away. This is why the Americans make such a huge deal out of their BBQ. The meat is just so fork tender, barely requiring any effort to pull apart. Its not the melt-in-your-mouth type of beef but its rich gamey taste and soft, perfectly cooked texture means you don't mind chewing it for those few extra seconds. The salt and pepper rub is just amazing; really elevates the beef and stands up to the flavors imparted by the barbeque. And the smoky aroma of the barbeque just lingers in your mouth when you chew it. The best part is when you bite into that line of fat running down the meat; the explosion of meat juice is just mindblowing. It comes with a side of yuzu coleslaw as well; which is interestingly tangy and very unique. Overall, this is absolutely worthy of being Meatsmith's signature dish. 9/10

Yummy Grilled Chicken Love the grilled chicken here. Crispy skin, strong flavours and thick juicy chicken. This is the only place where I will gladly finish the chicken skin in a heartbeat!

Neggs Ben Just kill me 🤮 the hollandaise sauce and almond muffin is really bad. My friend had the portobello mushroom burger and it’s equally bad. No more faith in vegan food after this 🤮

Portobello Burger ($20++ U.P.), Zucchini Noodle Carbonara ($16++ U.P.); Both On Burpplebeyond [TLDR Alert] My family and I have bought into the propaganda of Netflix Documentaries- Game Changers and What the Health. What this means is an attempt to maintain a vegan diet (plant based diet) which is difficult with what the F&B scene in SG has available so we give ourselves some leeway of vegetarian options when dining out. But at wholesome savour, the vegan theme is the pride of the menu. Take this portobello burger for example, the large dark mushroom serves as the burger bun with animal free ingredients; the mycoprotien chicken (plant based meat) reminded me of unseasoned mash potatoes which complimented a pleasantly tart beetroot patty. Other delightfully ingredients included the diary free cheese which has sent me stocking up on all the dairy free cheese I’ve found on redmart because I cannot live without cheese and these are some great cheese. Lastly the dehydrated chips will feel like tasty substitutes to your usual chips, warmly welcomed by my mum and I aka crisp lovers. Separately we also had the zucchini carbonara with some savoury coconut bacon and a fun tasty nut sauce. Sadly I found the zucchini noodles too crunchy for my liking because I was expecting noodle texture. All in all, kudos to Burpplebeyond for a vegan treat at an affordable price point.

Negg’s Benedict A good attempt looks-wise in replicating the classic eggs ben. I love the avocado (replacing the egg) but I found the ‘hollandaise sauce’ a little too sourish. Ambience here was nice and generally quiet :) One for one on selected dishes using Burpple beyond

Generous Servings and Authentic Vietnamese Dishes Just one look at their menu will tell you you’ve found an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Their menu is extensive - bring a group of friends so you can sample more of their menu or be prepared to revisit. Four of us took advantage of the 1-for-1 Burpple beyond. Since it was only myself and my three young kids at lunch, I couldn’t get too experimental with the food choice as I would’ve liked to. 2 x Pho Dac biet (mixed beef noodle soup) See picture WOW! Serving was more than generous! Loaded with beef, Tripe, beef balls. Would’ve been perfect if they balanced out the serving of protein to rice noodles a little better. I appreciated the good serving of fresh herbs on the side and the half brown and chilli sauce as well. Another hint to say these guys are the real deal. Soup tasted clean (not salty or MSG ridden) although I would prefer the soup to taste a little more robust. We also ordered the Bun Thit Nuong - cooked, dry rice vermicelli dish dressed with herbs, vege and shredded pickled carrot/radish and topped with sliced chargrilled pork. Fish sauce dressing on the side to mix in with your dish- so good. Lastly, we ordered the Thit Lon Nuong which was basically a main dish of the same chargrilled pork in the Bun Thit Nuong. Great with rice since my son doesn’t like noodles. Well balanced dish complete with cooked Asian greens, pickled shredded carrot/radish and two slices of traditional steamed egg meatloaf. Don’t forget the fish sauce for dipping! Service was great, ambience brought me back to Vietnam. Great deal with Burpple Beyond. Highly recommended!

Lemongrass Flan And Fish Sauce Ice Cream 14++? (complimentary With Facebook Review) Lemongrass Flan lacked lemongrass aroma, and they have taken the feedback very seriously so should be diff next time. Fish Sauce Ice Cream was interesting to say the least. Yes it's remniscent of Salted caramel, as they claimed, as the Fish Sauce wasnt too strong, but the bitterness at the back of the throat is still there. I was okay with it but my dining parter found it weird

Winestone Signature Burger [$27++] Juicy patty, average bun. Got this with eatigo 50% off so I’d say it was fairly worth. The sides were the star of the show though. Ordered truffles fries which came in a huge portion. Intensity of truffle flavour was just right! The seared scallops were sweet and buttery. Very nice.

A Vegetarian Powerhouse Don't look down on the Fettuccine Ai Funghi ($22.00++) for being a vegetarian dish. This was delightful. A great mix of juicy sliced mushrooms & confit tomatoes, with creaminess from the ricotta cheese & some acidity from balsamic vinegar that cuts through the heaviness of this dish. What a winner. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner 📱 Accepts reservations - I used Hungrygowhere, also available on Chope 🏩 Located inside Novotel Singapore on Stevens 💦 Water is not chargeable

A Very Hearty Meaty Pasta Eventually ordered the Ragout Tagliatelle ($25.00++) & Fettuccine Ai Funghi ($22.00++) to share with my friend. I originally thought these wouldn't fill me up when they were served, but I was wrong. Being a beef lover, I thought I'd enjoy the ragout (pictured) more, as it is generally a hearty solid dish right up my alley. I generally prefer shredded meat ragout over minced meat ones, & this was minced meat town. I did enjoy my half of this while it lasted, but on a comparative basis, it was definitely heavier on the palate which I can't guarantee everyone would appreciate. 💳 Accepts credit cards 🌬 Air-conditioned seats available ☀ Al fresco seats available 🍽 Burpple Beyond partner 📱 Accepts reservations - I used Hungrygowhere, also available on Chope 🏩 Located inside Novotel Singapore on Stevens 💦 Water is not chargeable

Thunder Tea Rice One of the better ( or “ Gao” lei Cha soups I have tried .. with a very thick like consistency - not sure if starch or glutinous rice was added to blend the soup . The grounded sesame flavour shone brightly and was delightful . The vegetables were also crisp and green and not greasy. Ask for their homemade chilli because that is a star on its own as well . For lei Cha enthusiasts , before you get disappointed , this dish is only available on Wednesdays . My only issue is the vibes of fortune centre - you won’t go there for no reason .

Thunder Tea Rice Rare as it is , i jump for joy when I find Hakka thunder tea rice in singapore. However, most stalls operated by Food courts do not meet the cut because of the generous amounts of oil incorporated into the vegetables ( to cook them fast ) by you know who. Instead of having a healthy meal , it may turn out disastrous. So this thunder tea rice at fortune centre is my personal Favourite. The vegetables are prepared with very little and almost no trace of oil and the amounts of vegetables are generous. What's most worthy to mention is the huge comforting bowl of basil and mint soup that accompanies the rice and yes - it is served pipping hot. Note that thunder tea rice is served only every Tuesday. Don't forget to ask for a portion of their home made vegetarian sambal - it adds a nice dimension to the vegetables and rice. The best thunder tea rice in Singapore in terms of value ( SGD6.50), health consideration and comfort ( air con seating ). Ordinarily I wouldn't venture to fortune centre ( because there is no reason to ) but for food this good and comforting , I am most willing :)

So I tried the #vegetarian version of #bakkutteh with noodles ($6.50, only available on Thursdays) recently during lunch at work. Was served a generous serving of vegetables and a few pieces of mock meat in a tasty soup base - surprisingly better than I expected! Heh, but I still prefer my usual order of organic soba from the store though! 🙊 Btw, blog updated with a movie review on the Korean comedy, Fashion King: www.mitsueki.wordpress.com
