It’s almost as though I was eating cream as I can’t taste the white chocolate. The tiramisu/ coffee sauce along with the cheesecake crumbles added more flavour to the soft serve. The Nutella brownie Softserve ($4.50) has more taste, with bite-size brownies in the middle. Overall, this is quite sweet.

The Softserve were creamy and smooth, and it’s a reasonable portion for the price. However, I didn’t really enjoy it, so either this is overrated or it is really not “my type”.

Cumi-Cumi Bakar ($15) is the grilled squid with sweet marinade. It is so fresh and chewy! As you can see, I was way too excited to dig in, hehe.

For vegetables, we took the waitress’ suggestion and ordered the Gulai Pucuk Paku ($13). On the pricey side for veg, but it’s because this jungle fern can’t be found in Singapore. The yellow curry was light and fragrant, which went so well with the free flow rice.

Last but not least, we had the quarter Ayam bbq chicken ($11). Soft and tender, and marinated so well. With their Chili, it’s even better ;)

p.s. I also love the batik decorations on the walls and tables. They stuck to traditional Indonesian music (kudos for this detail) was soft, which added to the classy touch. I will definitely be back for more!

This well- blended smoothie is made with mangoes, bananas, soy, and apples.

Canteen food are always cheap but quality can be quite meh, and you think to yourself “you pay for what you get”. but this stall is a rare gem.

6 juicy, yummy XLB for $4.30?!?! And $4 for those wonderfully flavoured 红油抄手 (Sichuan Spicy Wonton in red oil) ?!?? Take my money!

I’m gonna miss these so much when I graduate. Sigh.

Ordered the spicy beef stew ($18)! You get to choose your spicy level, type of noodles (glass noodles or udon), and additional top ups like cheese, topokki and noodles. I chose level 1 and it’s just nice - there’s a spice kick, but it won’t make you feel like reaching out for a cold drink. The soup is rich and flavourful, and beef are soft and tender!!! 😋 comes with a bowl of rice, and 2 side dishes (kimchi & potatoes).

Note: Not many staff so even though there were seats, we had to wait for quite a while before being showed to our seats.

In picture: chicken rice bowl, skewers (quail eggs, shiitake, zucchini, and capsicum)

If you hate veggies, these skewers will change your mind. They are cooked to perfection with generous amount of seasoning (cumin and others!) - yumz! With a generous amount of vegetables and meat, the chicken rice bowl is definitely worth it ($5.90!). LOOK AT THAT FLOWY EGG!

A little pricey ($10.90) but I always go back! Tomatoes, black beans, cheese, rice, corn chips(!!!)and salsa - everything goes well together. Need extra spice? You can help yourself at the counter.

Burrito, taco, salad, fajitas, quesadillas, and enchiladas options are also available ;)

Da hong bao tea is Oolong tea grown in the Wuyi Mountains, China. I love love love LOVE brown sugar pearls and what makes this drink great is that you can taste everything (from the oolong to brown sugar), AND unlike the milk version, you can select your sugar level!

they have a 1 for 1 promo until 15 Feb. Just like their IG, and flash your shopee app ;) so only $3.90 for two of this goodness!!!! ~\(≧▽≦)/~

Ordered: Vongole pong ($16.80) and Cha Pong ($15.80)

The seafood broth is rich, noodles are al dente, and they are not stingy with the fresh mussels and squids. Veggie lovers, don’t worry, you’ll get your serving of vegetables too.

You get to choose the spicy level for Cha Pong, and level 1 was spicy enough! There was some “wok taste”, which made me love it more.

SO GOOD. I’ll be craving for it!!! 😋

$21.90 for this huge amount of goodness is a steal. The beef slices are thin and tender, and they use Japanese rice! The large bowl is good for 2 pax (plus the truffle can be quite overwhelming after some time).

Rice with onsen egg and grilled pork slices. The pork slices were a tad too tough. The dish redeeming factor were its rice and sweet-savoury sauce. For $19... I think Picnic can do better.

Food aside, this place has a Marche concept, and the interior deco following a picnic/ outdoor theme is really on point and insta-worthy.
