I love mix and match concepts although it does take a toll on my brain energy trying to decide from the sauces available (all of them sound good!). Eventually stuck to the usual teriyaki sauce since ahma only takes teriyaki sauce but no regrets!
While the chicken portion isnt exactly big, it was just enough to pair with the sauteed mushrooms, loklok broccoli and rice. But what really won us over was the amount of sauce at the bottom of the bowl such that when you mix everything up, every grain of rice definitely is coated with some teriyaki sauce βΊπ
At $6.50 for such a wholesome bowl, it's really pretty value for money! π
W.O.W this definitely lived up to its hype and waiting time. The skin was crispy, flavourful and evenly coated. The meat was juicy, tender and very well cooked. Really the most perfect har cheong kai i've ever had, even ahma agreed. For $1.80 per piece (drumstick AND wing), it's definitely a steal and worth the 15 mins wait on a weekday afternoon. π
Wanted a quick fuss free sweet toast and this was surprisingly good!! And very comforting βΊ
This is my go-to whenever I'm around Tanjong Pagar. I mean where can u find $9.90 MENTAIKO salmon bowls??
Had the poke bowl with greens and I love it! Portion of salmon poke was not stingy and very flavourful!
The aburi garlic salmon my boyfriend had was the monthly specials and ohboy I had to stop myself from stealing his food cos he loves it alot too ππ it was creamy but not gelat, fragrant from the garlic and also with a little burnt taste from the torched parts π
sauteed the mushrooms with remaining green curry sauce from the tuna and mmMmMM it was a surprisingly good idea π€ͺ
Making a meal for myself has become my sort of self pampering - a form of reminder that I'm strong and I'm capable of things I thought I couldn't do one year ago (cooking and baking)
This place has become me and ahma's weekend breakfast spot ever since we stumbled into them a few weeks back.
The entire coffeeshop only has this store operating in the morning plus the drinks store but it was still hard to get seats, not forgetting the snaking queue that doesn't stop even in the late morning π that being said the queue moves quite fast! All thanks to the many aunties and staff serving behind the counter π
Don't usually eat fried stuff but this yam puff is legit! Even though it is fried, it doesn't taste oily nor gelat and even leaves an authentic yam taste. The addition of charsiew was a match made in heaven because the sweetness of charsiew added so much to the otherwise one dimension taste of the puff. ππ»ahma loved it so much she kept wanting to go back there every weekend π
This was not exactly the nearest and most convenient dim sum place from where I live but definitely so worth the trip! While on the pricier side ($4 for 2 baos), i think the quality does makes up for it.
Ahma's favourite was the chicken claw which I didn't get to try but my favourite was definitely the oozing pandan liusha bao!! π pandan fragrance was so strong and it complemented so well with the liusha i really regretted not dabaoing more home :(
That aside, the prawn and meats in the hargow, siewmai tastes really fresh and huge together with the thin soft skin π
Definitely has become my top dim sum place βΊ (although they do sell frozen ones on qoo10 but delivery costs a bomb π°)
You could immediately spot this satay beehoon stall with the never ending snaking queue π but to be fair the queue moves quite fast!
This satay beehoon was just so sinful and so fragrant π there's no such thing as not enough gravy when it comes to satay beehoon because the gravy is the star of the show π€ͺ the gravy is nutty, savoury, alittle creamy and paired so well with thin beehoon soaking in all the sauce π been missing this ever since and definitely a must get when I head there again β₯οΈ
This egg tart was so huge compared to my palm but definitely NOT! ENOUGH! Was craving for more even when I finished π buttery crust thats comparable to Tai Cheong but alittle thinner! its thin-ness complemented very well with the mildly sweet egg custard. Every mouthful is a heavenly balance of butter crust and smooth egg custard π definitely climbing to 2nd in my list of favourite egg tarts (after TC) π€
Have never liked white carrot cake because I'm scared of the eggy taste but this famous store only sells the white version so decided to give it a try. BEST DECISION EVER. No eggy taste, very fragrant with generous savoury caipo (preserved radish) but what made this white carrot cake stand out was how it's so crisp on the outside but remains so soft inside π like that they also offer various amount of serving options starting from $2.5 and above so you could choose whether to share it or have it all by yourself π€ͺ
