This was actually the dish that prompted my return here — it just looked like the same deal that I missed so much from now-defunct Thai Jing Jing that I guess I can never have ever again.

This was good on its own right, but it doesn't seem to be able to hold itself up against Thai Jing Jing's way superior version; for a start, the Chicken here is fried hence lacking that heavily saucey flavour that Thai Jing Jing had. The garlic also felt like as though it was having another sideshow of its own; just did not felt as though it integrated with the fried chicken chunks.

That being said, apart from the slight boney bits within the chicken, the chicken chunks were fried exceptionally crispy so it does deserve some credit. It's just probably on my part that I was carrying an expectation that it might be what it was not, hence the slight disappointment in trying this dish.

Thai-style pork knuckle to-die-for. It sure is heart clogging but boy oh boy is it worth every drop of fat.

Whenever I hear of Seng Kee, my immediate reaction would be either the bak chor mee at Serangoon Gardens or the herbal soup at Changi Road. Little did I know that there's actually a Seng Lee Black Chicken Herbal Soup near my place.

Fortunately for fellow foodie-in-crime, @rainraineeataway who brought me here, I wouldn't have known of its existence (shame on me). For just $4, you get a choice of either kidney/mixed organs/lean meat cooked in a flavour-packed bowl of hot black chicken soup with mee sua that's sure to satisfy your late night hunger pangs. The stall opens from 11am in the morning till 12am at night.
