Seating elegantly in One Fullerton, @forlinosg serves exquisite Italian cuisine while offering a stunning view of the Marina Bay waterfront, makes it a great date night venue. Was excited to try the Hokkaido Sea Urchin Linguine ($46), made of “Giuseppe Cocco” Linguine and Hokkaido Sea Urchin Sardinian Bottarga, the main reason why we were there. Sauce clinging to each strand, it gives a slight brine flavour from sea urchins and cured fish roe. Not my favourite dish from that lunch though. P.S: #BurppleBeyond has 1-for-1 mains for this place. So Rich, So Decadent, Such A Winner The Risotto ($36++) won my heart too, but I doubt I could finish this on my own. Remember, folks, sharing is caring. Firstly, this is a pretty rich dish. Just look at all that Acquerello rice in the cured egg yolk sauce. Even with the squeeze of Amalfi lemon that cuts through the richness nicely, it still is heavy on the palate. Secondly, & this is just my own personal thing, I can't eat raw fish. I did sneak some small bites of the blue fin tuna, which was pretty heavenly in terms of contrasting taste & texture to the risotto. Nicely executed. Quite Average I had high expectations for the Linguine ($42++) with Hokkaido Sea Urchin, but it was at best okay to me. I felt that the sea urchin should have been fresher, & I wished it were creamier. The Sardinian Bottarta (fish roe), however, added a nice briney flavour to this dish. Dinner in the Dark ($88++ for 12 tasting dishes). I thoroughly enjoyed my first dinner experience at NOX, even though they've been around since 2013. It was an emotive dinner experience, as I went through excitement and anxiety, followed by plenty of mystery and fun as I got used to the darkness. 🔸 The loss of vision is said to heighten your sense of taste, though I'm not exactly sure of that, as it could be attributed to the use of stronger flavours and more premium ingredients. However, what is certain is that I heard every word my dining companions said over dinner (yes, no distractions due to mobile phones or checking out of cute people across the table!). Good place for bonding. 🔸 Even if you've been here before, you could consider checking it out again as they have a new Head Chef Shahrom, as well as locally inspired cocktails and mystery drink tasting experiences by Head Bartender Hussien. 🔸 Dinner menu changes monthly, but should always consist of 3 courses with 4 tasting dishes per course (4 appetizer, 4 mains, and 4 desserts). Unique Experience Have u ever tried dining in complete darkness? Now I can say I have. As one of your senses is made redundant, your taste buds senses become more sensitive. The food we had was very flavourful, we had a fun time trying to identify the food we had at the end of dinner. Very very expensive though Great experience, but I may not return again due to the price of this place. Total damage for two(with cocktail package):$340(after gst)
For a Dining Adventure in the Dark Apart from the fact that eating in complete darkness is a unique dining experience we recommend trying at least once in your life, NOX also supports and provides employment to visually impaired individuals, all of whom have been trained to guide and serve — which they do with utmost professionalism! Like NOX aptly writes on its website, "it is a truly human experience when the roles are reversed and the blind become your eyes". The meal begins with a cocktail in the warmly lit romantic lounge (this place is perfect for a cheeky date night!), after which the prix fixe dinner ($88 per person) is a mystery menu consisting of 12 dishes set over three courses. Trust us — it is perfectly okay to dig in with your hands. You can choose to add on wine pairing (from $30 for two glasses) and request for a vegetarian or vegan menu. Great Place For A Nights Out Ambience was amazing with three levels of sitting and decorated in a German fashion. We ordered two schnitzels: pork and chicken a sirloin steak and their specialty: PORK KNUCKLE. Steak portion is small :( We don’t drink and it’s a pity as I think they do brew some legit alcohol.

Roasted Whole Pork Knuckle ($31.90++) With everything ranging from writing to reading to exercising to even perhaps the mighty act of waking up becoming a chore as of late, there is no doubt that even the narcissistic demi-god of unparalleled genius in the art of food reviews (@thintbites) requires a kick to bring his dismantled soul together as one again. The aforementioned kick can be labelled simply as food, or rather the prospect of novelty in the food culture of this island. Enter Paulaner Bräuhaus, a namesake restaurant boasting a spacious interior that was indeed reminiscent of a grand tavern in the heart of the land of automobiles. - Hailing as Singapore’s only German microbrewery and restaurant, Paulaner Bräuhaus was a first for me. Indeed, the Bavarian hospitality that was promised came through in their food and atmosphere. The table started with some finger food of sorts through their Paulaner Trio “Light” ($13.90++), with lightly pungent sticks of Emmental cheese, a Bavarian cheese spread (“Obazda”) and another herbaceous cream cheese spread. - It is worth noting that their mains are substantial, and I mean REALLY filling. As such, our group simply ordered two main dishes which I’m proud to say sated our hunger rather well. Their Roasted Whole Pork Knuckle ($31.90++) was a chunk of pure carnivorous desire with a crackling exterior and tender pull-apart meat that turned every forkful into pure greasy bliss. We also went for their Original Veal Schnitzel ($29.90++), a thin veal escalope served with sautéed baby potatoes and a wonderfully complimentary cranberry dip that proved well for the entire meal. - If you’re looking for a place with hearty, rich and bold German cuisine in the concrete jungle surrounding the Fountain of Wealth, look no further than Paulaner Bräuhaus. On a totally different note, this picture further exemplifies the point that Samsung cameras are arguably better at taking pictures of food than Apple.
