Extremely Dry Seafood Paella $38++ The food is not bad, but it’s neither great (the paella is extremely dry) nor authentic (eg. bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar; burrata; ceviche; what’s next - burritos? nachos?), the menu is short (especially tapas), and overall it’s poor value. It’s ironical that much better Spanish restaurants in Singapore have died, while this one continues to prosper. All these bankers and lawyers entertaining clients and one another? The best thing about Ola is the very friendly staff, and the most Spanish thing about it is the long list of wines from Spain!

For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save ~$45) Take date night up a notch at this snazzy 75-seater restaurant in MBFC. Share the impressive Suckling Pig ($45) that sees roasted loin served on a bed of barley and argula. Also great is the Black Paella — choose between the Lobster ($58) or the Catch of the Day ($38) to pair with your saffron-cooked rice, served with creamy herb aioli and sweet cherry tomatoes. Limited Wagyu Beef Bowl Ramen The wagyu beef looked so good on the menu that I knew I just had to try it. Looking at the marbling of those beef slices, I knew I was in for a treat. Being a seasoned foodie, I was more than right when the beef tasted more like a soft piece of sashimi that literally melts in your mouth. The soup base however was a tad salty.

Extraordinary Fried Chips I am not a big fan of fries/chips/wedges because it all taste pretty much the same to me. I reluctantly tried this and I realised that they can be rather delicious when done well. The potato skin was fried till golden brown and you can actually taste the crisp. What finds you there after is soft mushy potato which enhances the entire experience! Not to be missed out!

Kani And Scallop Fried Rice That Is Too Good To Be True There was lots of hype about this place over the course of the past few weeks and being a Japanese food lover; I just had to check it out. The first thing that caught my eyes were the prices, they look too unbelievably affordable to be true. I ordered this because I wanted a change from the usual ramen and boy was it the best decision. Kiwami is extremely generous with the portion of prawns and scallops which were well cooked because it usually becomes too dry or overcook when placed in fried rice. The rice too was well complemented by the ikura and egg. Honesty, I can't think of a reason why someone wouldn't give this place a try. You can probably find me coming back here for lunch very frequently!
