Spicy Wantons ($5 for 10) (Part 2 of 2) I've no regrets ordering this again as I feel that they've managed to balance the sourness and spiciness of this dish. The wanton skins are also silky and paper-thin, barely wrapping the generous portions of meat within. Taste: 9/10 (Will gladly come back for this as well)

La Mian with Fried Bean Sauce ($3.50) (Part 1 of 2) I've actually ordered from this stall before, trying their pan-fried dumplings ($6 for 10) and XLB ($5 for 7) as well. However, their most memorable dish previously were their szechuan spicy wanton ($5 for 10). Hence, ordered that this time together with their Zha Jiang Mian / La Mian with Fried Bean Sauce ($3.50) to try. This was very flavourful with huge chunks of meat and firm springy noodles. Tasted a hint of parsley at times as well. Do add their chili sauce which helps to cut through the rich but greasy minced meat drenched in bean sauce. The portion is quite decent as well for the price. Taste: 9/10 (Really love this, will order again) Price: 8.5/10 Overall: 9/10 (Must-try from this stall)

My Favourite Dumplings 上海拉面小笼包 Shanghai La Mian Xiao Long Bao at Alexandra Village Food Centre (#01-56) sells lovely Dumplings 水饺 ($5.00 for 10) & Xiao Long Baos 小笼包 ($5.00 for 7). Was very satisfied with these steamed freshly on the spot. Had to wait 5 mins for these to be ready, but it was worth it. I lunched here during an off-peak hour, so there was only 1 person in front of me in the queue. Normally, during peak hour there is a long line at this stall! The XLBs had very umami soup inside, & the skin is of the thickness & softness that it should be. It doesn't break easily either, so there's little to no soup wastage due to accidents. The dumplings were filled with lots of meat, which delights me. Very value for money. The same can be said about the skin here too. I also like how you help yourself to the ginger & vinegar at the stall, because I generally eat a mountain of ginger & less vinegar than the average person. So I can #optimize, here. I immediately bought some frozen ones to bring home & steam when I need a quick fix for a meal. They come in bags of 10 each - $6.50 per bag of XLB, $4.50 per bag of dumplings. Pretty competitive pricing for such excellent quality! This stall also accepts GrabPay, so you can earn Grab points here 👍🏻

Interesting Find. Finally get to try this BBQ box. Ok good experience. Typical China style BBQ with herbs. I always thought it's Japanese. On the salty side. Food is cooked then they serve on the box to warm up. Some items are really interesting. But small pieces of meat on sticks. So you'll tend to order more. Remember to state spicy or not. Average per stick is $1.3 Oysters $18.8 for 3 (not very big, 1 was really small) Sour plum drink a jar is $8.80 Mini pork Dumplings not bad (oops, no pic) 29 sticks + 2 sticks of 3 mid joint wings @$3.5/- + all above Total: $85.95 Note: Menu is in China Chinese.

Chinese BBQ Skewers Never thought I'll take a liking to "China food" because everyone says that they're oily and salty etc but omg THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!! The price is really cheap too most of the skewers are only $1/stick and the more "premium" items like chicken wings costing $3 or $5 /stick. The skewers are served BBQ'd already and they place it on this heated box in front of you to keep it hot. The most addictive part about their skewer is the sauce. It's oily and salty and slightly spicy but in a really delicious way. Highly recommend their mutton BBQ ($1), grilled pork sausage ($1), grilled pork 三层肉 ($1) and the shiitake mushrooms ($1.20). As a beef lover, I think the grilled beef pales in comparison to their mutton but still worth a try. Will definitely try out other meats the next time.

Assorted Meats, Seafood And Vegetables BBQ Box has opened its 3rd outlet at 2 South Bridge Road S(058811). For those craving for some spiced and barbecued food, you will be spoilt for choice as the extensive menu offers premium seafood such as oysters, scallops, fresh prawns and squid. Besides the usuals like chicken, mutton, beef and pork meats, they also serve some gamey parts such as chicken gizzards and pig's kidneys. And mushroom lovers would be thrilled to find many types of mushrooms here. My favourite was the Grilled Bread ($1) which tasted buttery and savoury yet sweet and a little spicy. Weirdly delicious toast! 😄 Do try the Grilled Kurobuta ($8.80) that was tender and only lightly salted to retain its natural sweetness. The down side of devouring so many of these bbq sticks is that everything gradually starts to taste similar as they used the same seasoning for almost everything. Order a pot of Chinese Tea for this sodium-high meal. 😊 FYI: You don't actually barbecue your food here. They are barbecued in the kitchen and placed on the bbq box on your table to be kept warm. 😉

A love letter to the Number 1 ($14). I've lost count of the number of times I've been here — my love for the place is apparent in its status as my unequivocal reply to burger recommendations. - Their basics are (almost) always pinpoint perfect. A succulent patty bursting with juices, topped with impeccably caramelised onions and crispy bacon, then sandwiched between buttery and fluffy buns — perfect foundation for a great burger. It also packs plenty of personality, with the piquancy of thousand island sauce and sharp umami of gorgonzola blending with the beef juiced for a decadent eruption of of flavours. - Perhaps they don't reach the heights of Burger Labo, and they do have minor inconsistencies, but when it works, you get a damn good and exciting burger at an affordable price point. Easily in my top 3 of Singapore. ----- 📍 200 Middle Rd, Hotel G, Singapore 188980 ⏱️ (Daily) 7am-3am

Number 1 burger (14++) is da best woohoo! Beef patties with caramalised onions drizzled w crescenze, prelibato gorgonzola (basically blue cheese). Slightly salty cause of the bacon, yet a pretty decent good burger that I would go back for. Yellowfin tuna burger was the other burger that I tried. You can totally taste the fish within the patties. But the beef is 3x better than the fish imo. But dont get me wrong, the fish burger is still good for non-beef diners. Overall: ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Late Night Dim Sum The perfect dim sum place the opens till 6am in the morning to feed the hungry bellies in the wee hours. Their signature mee suah kueh is a must-order kind of dish over at Swee Choon. It's like carrot cake made of mee suah then fried to give a crispy and soft texture. XLB was still as good as before with the skin not being too thick/thin enough to break and spill the soup before it goes into my mouth. Not forgetting to request for their hae bee hiam to pair their dim sum! Shanghai Xiao Long Bao 上海小笼包 》$4.50 Rice Roll with Prawn 鲜虾肠粉 》$4 Glutinous Rice with Chicken 糯米鸡 》$2.50 Mee Suah Kueh 面线粿 》$2.40
